PS+ version of Driveclub will have 5 tracks (1 country) and 10 cars.

Rockefellers. Skull and Bones. Microsoft. Al Qaeda. A Cabal of Bankers. The melting point of steel. What do these things have in common? Wake up sheeple, the landfill wasn't even REAL!
So it's just a big demo.

This was their way of making "Mandatory Playstation Plus" an easy pill to swallow. Oh yeah... You have to pay $50 a year to play Online on the Playstation 4... But you get fee games! Good free games! Like Drive Club, a $60 game is free. You get a "slightly" scaled back version! You also get Resogun and other games free each month!

5 tracks, and 10 cars out of the hundreds isn't "slightly". They should have never announced this as a "free" game if they planned on it being a demo from the beginning.

You can thank your Microsoft Overlords for this - they introduced a bullshit "because we can" fee on console gaming and Sony finally followed suit.
And yes I am still bitter about this "pay to play online" bs on consoles ( and don't get me started on hiding essential and/or free/already paid for stuff behind a paywall)...

Minus a few cars and tracks? Either this game is severely lacking in content or the scope of this PS Plus Edition was completely nerfed.

It has at least 5 countries we know of.

Unless the other countries only have one track, it seems like the full game is actually quite meaty.

Probably won't pay full price for this game, if anything at all. I'll see how this demo turns out.

I hope there's a free game that month, too.

You'd have thought the fact the game is a full price release was a big fucking clue about how much content the + version was going to have.

Hmm they indeed made it sound like they were going to give away 90% of the game. Never really saw that quote.

I stand corrected.

Sounds like the full game will have a lot of tracks if we're looking at five per country with many more variants.

Evolution should have never said the Plus version had slightly less content or "minus a few cars and tracks."

They never said the full game was free, though.

I mean, I understand that they misled with the slightly, and I know why you are personally going so hard, but you are still getting a free game.

Demos are free games. Content limited? Yes, but they are free and they are games.

I understand feeling like Sony under delivered on what you were expecting, but it's important to understand the difference between "Sony misrepresented the product" and "Sony didn't give me what I wanted". You're firmly in the latter category, and while I mean absolutely no disrespect, that's on you.

Do we have to have this dumb semantics discussion about PS+ every single time?

If you're in the camp that calls these things free, please use complimentary instead until we have some hotel concierge go all pedantic on that term too.

That would shut up so much unneeded noise, it would be so incredible.

Am I reading correctly? Did some of us buy PS+ to get Driveclub for free?

Paid relatively the same price for PS+ that would be the cost of Driveclub?

Uhm, why?

And if you are this person, I hope you didn't take advantage of the free monthly games and/or discounts, because apparently all of that is irrelevant when we consider Driveclub to be the primary reason for one's decision in paying for PS+.

Edit: Perhaps the resentment comes from the fact that this is fully enjoyed online, therefore the game would require PS+. Then I can understand. But it wouldn't make sense for someone to pay for PS+ months in advance if they're only interested in Driveclub.

So missing 4 countries that each have their own set of tracks is a "few" tracks and cars?

Definitely incredibly misleading by Sony. Whatev.

All I need I just want to look at it for a bit and take some nice pictures I'm not at all into racing games. And of course it's a demo the game looks beautiful, but if this free limited version doesn't convince you to buy it nothing will. Maybe the added development time put then in a spot where you know they actually want to SELL the game to people.

If the PS plus version is only missing a "few" cars and courses does that mean the retail is only offering slightly more content.

Can Rushy confirm on the car or track amount?

All I need is one track and one car to determine if they fixed everything that was wrong with it when I played it at PAX late last year. Speaking about the driving mechanics and camera angles, not graphics or social aspects. Sounds like they're providing more than enough to help people decide if they want the full game. The Forza Horizon demo was big, but not this big, but then again it was free. I find it difficult to see anything wrong with what they're offering here.

It'd be nice to know how many tracks and cars are in the full game by comparison.

I can't remember the exact number of known locations at this point, but off the top of my head we know about Scotland, Norway, Chile, India... can't remember if more has been revealed, anyone?.

But simply extrapolating from 1 country, 5 tracks, 11 track variants would mean we're looking at at least 4 countries, 20 tracks, 44 track variants.

So where did he mention a vast portion of the game content?

You cant just add a percentage to a quote like that.

So "A few" is up to 80% of the tracks and presumably most of the cars? In that case, Driveclub is an awful value as a full priced game. It barely has more than a few tracks and cars!

I knew they were talking out of their ass last year. "Full game minus few cars and tracks". Who the hell is going to buy it? You're asking for the game to flop. This announcement sounds more realistic and reasonable.

Seriously, this shit is amazing.

Before PS+, this wouldn't even be a discussion. People need to get a grip. Expecting a full, brand new game for free is insane.

You're right.

Before PS+ , paying a yearly subscription for free games would not even be a discussion.

"As an apology for delaying the game, we are going to give you an even BIGGER incentive to not buy it by adding more tracks and cars to the PS+ addition!"

Somehow I don't think that was going to happen and the people that are pissed at this seem a bit silly.

Haha, what a joke. I remember they said it would be almost the full game minus a few things.

edit: i see that it has been mentioned already, good.

"Yes, the PS Plus version will be the exact same as the full version, except that it may be missing a few assets such as cars or tracks, that will be found in the full version."

Do you think anyone will notice if we change "missing" to "only" in that statement?

You kind of have to. A big "selling point" is online play. You will have to pay for PS+ anyway.

Eh, not everyone plays online. The only reason I subscribe to PS+ is for the free games.
