what seems to be happening is that something occurs and forces the console to stop recording the retroactive 15 minutes, and it can't restart by itselft. some folks notice that the recording stops when you go back to the system, there might be other things happening in the background causing this recordin pause.
before this update was even worse, because the video saved had the correct thumbnail, of the last second before you clicked SHARE button, but the video content was wrong. now, the option to save video disappears.
thats annoying, it was really good to do something unexpected, and press the button to save it. now its totally random, you never know. I lost some great moments because of this bug, and there is no official word about this glitch.
Yes, they should a third "easy video" button config variant, where the short press saves the previous 15 min video without opening the menu.

i spoke too soon this morning when I claimed the bug was fixed.
well, that bug might be gone but a new one has replaced it. sometimes hitting Share won't save the video at all, as in the Square button prompt doesn't show up. it's been hit and miss though and the pre-set recording length doesn't seem to matter, I had it happen with 15mins and 1min.
You can use the 'PlayStation, save video clip' voice command to do that now but it would be good to have an option from a button press.
I agree but a few people have said they needed to do the double tap. I don't like it honestly but I use screenshot more than record. I hope later they add more configuration settings.
Does it still stop playback after every 5 songs or so? It's been pretty damn unreliable since launch for me. I wish one of these teams played the damn 360 while developing their systems, it did this perfectly.

I did not test it that long, but before it wasn't too bad for me at least. It seems server/time dependent, oh and adding music etc. produced a LOT of crashes during such times.
Just having the music streamed via ingame music instead of using the app works pretty well for me either way though, it only stopped sometimes for me after an hour of play or so, even during online mp.

One little thing I would like them to do is have in a new update is a "wish list" of sorts just like on steam. And publish games as they are announced for the system onto the store so I can add it to my wish list and then alert me when the game is out and ready to download.
With all these great indie titles sneaking out onto ps4, it would be great to have a list to go to when I have some PSN credit to spend.
What you guys think?

How is the share button holding up for everyone? Any problems getting the correct 15 minutes of video for anyone? I don't have my PS4 with, so I can't check...

Another really, really great improvement. Notice how clicking L2 and Triangle in the virtual keyboard now gives fast access to @ etc letters so writing email addresses and such is much faster now as you dont have to navigate down to a button to open another set of keyboard commands.
edit: you now have @ in the main keyboard, I just noticed. So good.
...and now when I use the keyboard in the browser,the @ is no longer on the main keyboard. What the hell?

Happened to me just now. When I clicked on it, it said "This savefile couldn't be saved. It was used on another PS4 system." something along those lines and it asks you do you want to overwrite the save.
Not only do I have this problem, but I have the HDCP Flickering issue which started an hour ago. When I have HDCP off, my screen flickers displaying weird colors. When I have it on(HDCP) my screen goes completely blank. I won't get an image unless I use Remote Play and turn it back off and the flickering starts again.
Question for those of you who use remote play and have a USB headset connected.
A problem I have is when my Astro A40's are connected I'm unable to connect via remote play as when the console boots up from sleep it wants confirmation of which user (Dualshock 4) is using the headset. Unfortunately this stops remote play from connecting meaning I have to unplug the USB cable from the MixAMP to get remote play working.
Whilst it not a major issue, if this didn't occur then I could keep my headset plugged in but more importantly, I could use my A40's with the wireless mixamp to get 5.1 surround whilst playing on the Vita.

Not sure if it's related, I'm using a USB2.0 stick, and every time I insert it and transfer a file it hangs for a couple of minutes showing 10seconds remaining. After a couple of minutes it transfers.
Then if I transfer more files it does it instantly.
I've also ordered a usb3.0 stick because the transfer time on USB 2.0 is not even 1MB/s.
I watch my Tv shows online through site streams.
Dont majority of them use flash?
shouldn't flash be one of the first things in the system? pretty disappointing, I have had my PS4 for about 18 hours and still have to keep my PS3 on.

This + the DVD/Blu-ray DNR shows some work's being done on the Blu-ray player already. Hopefully compatibility's improved.

Thanks for answer mate but I think my issue is I try & transfer 4 vids at 800mb each at one time & it is just a crawl (if that lol) really annoying I got a 3.0 on order

I think the Share bug is game specific. FFXIV, Knack and Tomb Raider for example have never given me any problem with Share and I have been to the OS while playing those games lots of times. Infamous, MGS and KZ have given me the video bug though and I have tried to stay in the game and never press the PS button but I still got it.
So far for me the bug have been game specific or I was just lucky in those games and unlucky in the others, but as of 1.7 I haven't had the problem yet.

I just connected my USB portable hdd (2.0) and as usual it's stuck on 0kb/461MB (10 seconds left) and it's been 2 mins or so and it hasn't transferred nothing despite my portable hdd light flashing.
Edit: it started now and it's going very slow, about 1MB every 4 seconds. I think the drive is formatted in MAC extended.
I think the software is buggy.
Maybe some people could post their transfer times and type of HDD/flash drives they use so we can get an idea if it's widespread.

I have two PS4's tied to the same account (one at home, one at work), and for whatever reason PS+ refuses to automatically upload my save data on the secondary system.
I try to remind myself to back it up every week, but I know I'm going to forget and lose something important one day.
On the other hand, I think they fixed the bug where automatically logging in as a user upon start-up made it so your licenses wouldn't verify, so that's nice.

It truely is a glorious day. Especially when watching video.
Getting pretty horrible speeds with a USB 2 pen drive formatted in exFAT. Well below 1MB/s same drive gets around 15MB/s on a PC.

It took me 10mins to transfer just under a gig to USB 2.0 flash drive (exFAT). Once I connected it to my computer it transferred it in 30-40seconds.

Really!? That fantastic, it really bothered me that you had to log in the entire time the DS4 got disconnected. So what's great news.

Write Speed and Read Speed are very different on USB 2.0: When you write to the stick is much slower...

While that is true, I think based on the impresisons and the write speeds here it seems more like that Sony is doing file I/O synchronously instead of asynchronously or issuing a final sync after a full file transfer.

Same here. I presume the PS4 reboots into Safe Mode? I have it with FF. Haven't tried FIFA but Battlefield works fine.

I am thinking of Initialization. Saves are in the cloud anyway, and installs etc go by reasonably fast. Only all dat BF downloads...

The fact that my Vita remote play suddenly worked from my buddies place is a god-send. FFXIV is perfectly playable... there is a little noticeable input lag, but your brain adjusts very quickly. And with this sort of game, it's not game breaking. I even tried some BF4 and Warframe, but the Vita sticks worked against me more than anything I think... but it could have been the input lag also. I couldn't get any kills.

My sharefactory download failed. I was online but it failed and notifications said it could not download, suggestions were check router, restart PS4, etc. It was late so I didn't mess with it. Today I got up and deleted sharefactory and redownloaded it and it worked fine.
My autoupload had a notification saying my Trials Fusion save data was already uploaded from "another PS4". More weirdness.
I had 3 videos, about 350mb. I copied them to usb and it took 7 minutes.
+1 on needing a Wish List. I use the Amazon one a lot and would love PSN Store to have one also.

no one having the same problems? Im so frustrated.
All I can suggest is try another switcher.
My PS4 is connected straight to one of the TV HDMI ports and I'm running the sound through optical to my receiver. Everytime I start the PS4 after the update, I'm experiencing random sound drops that they go away after 10-15 mins. Before the update I was experiencing random sound drops only while playing NBA2K14, but now the sound drops with any game. No idea what's going on.
Go away after 10-15? I havent been able to put up with listening to the sound drops at all to know if thats happening with mine.
I wonder what changed, because this worked flawlessly before 1.70. Could it be the 7.1/5.1 options?
