'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare' trailer (PC/XB1/PS4/360/PS3, Nov 4th) [Up: Info]

It's up for preorder on Amazon.co.uk. Platforms are 360, Xbox One, PS4, PS3 and PC. No Wii U version so far.

Yep, isn't that the way it has been the last two - for the WiiU not to be announced until a month or two beforehand?

I must admit CoD doesn't push boundaries but after my terrible experiences with BF4 last year at least it satisfy's that shallow action multiplayer consistently well. Hopefully it comes to WiiU as I am terrible with a controller haha.

I really don't see the how the exclusivity deal affects anything. So because the Xbox is selling less, it deserves nothing it gets?

Sony isn't willing to pay up and PS4 owners will buy in regardless. It's a Win-Win for Activision.

I haven't bought a COD in years; multiplayer mode has been borderline broken for me since MW3.

Well, actually, I did buy Ghosts, since I needed to get some games for PS4, but promptly sold it after finding out how much it sucked. In fact, only COD I still own is MW2.

I too enjoy the campaigns and a couple of them including ghosts, I barely touched the multiplayer.

A commander that goes awol and starts his own side army doesn't mean america is evil.

So then Makarov or Zakhaev doing their own side mission doesn't make Russia evil.

Either way, that point doesn't even matter. The dude I quoted acted like this game is all about Merca when the MW trilogy was mainly the British SAS.

This is the first CoD trailer I've ever seen that's gotten me hype. It certainly blows the rollout of Ghost to smithereens anyway (in slow motion, with dramatic music and narration, etc.).

If the gameplay holds up, I...might actually buy a CoD game for the first time ever.

Looks more Black Ops than Ghosts. BO2 was pretty good at being a stupid but entertaining action movie. And virtual Spacey can only be great (for all 10 minutes he'll be on screen).
Too bad you have to wait 5 years to get these games at a real discount on Steam...

But they're not boring games for the very reasons you listed. You can clearly see that in the trailer. And you're buying this too, because Kevin Spacey is in it? You know, just like people here have expressed in the way I've quoted! So you're just like everyone else that's excited then.

I'm confused what you're trying to say.
The second part of my post is obvious sarcasm.

not quite what? Soap, Price and gang aren't British or the bad guy isn't some Army general that went rogue because he was crying that no one took him seriously

cuz I mean sure you play as Americans, but I doubt anyone could tell you anyone's name aside from Ramirez in whatever game he was from, but that's only because of the meme "Ramirez, do everything"

They were irrelevant in the Modern Warfare series and were probably only second to Makarov in terms of being the antagonist

an American is the protagonist, but he is a rogue general...we're not talking a situation where America is the enemy...the President (commander of the US military) was not giving orders to do anything in the game...

Whats the issue? They tend to be very entertaining campaigns.

agree...some people are wayyyy to high up on their horses to get it though

Definitely not a new one. Also, I know many people who buy COD (bought pre Ghost, at least) for local 4P multiplayer.

Why? Battlefield 4 is cross gen, and looks amazing on PS4. A lot of peoples still buying the 360 and PS3. Cross gen titles are not going to stop, for a long time.

Agree. Cross-gen is a non-issue. What matters most is what the lead platform is, and whether a game is ham-strung by older platforms. In the case of Battlefield 4, the target platform was high-end PCs, so it would have looked good regardless on next-gen consoles.

So, PS4 may possibly be the lead platform, but the ultimate experience will be on Xbox?

Where do you get that idea? The best experience will on the most powerful system (unless you actually care about delayed-release DLC).

That was a good trailer. I hate that about Call of Duty. When I say I'm done they do something that pulls me back in. At least on the single player movie like blockbuster front. So Activision has my interest as they release more information. I hope there is a Wii U version at the very least. Not holding out much hope though. So either hopefully I'll have a PS4 by then.

Mid-2015 at the latest. By then attention would've shifted almost entirely to current-gen.

The adoption rate is too damn high.

In this thread I learned that many people love the single player in COD games. That's a new one to me. To each his own. At first I thought the one poster was joking, but nope. Many people love it.

Ok....watched at full rez on a PC. Looks good but not great. I'll wait till we get uncompressed direct feed footage before I fully judge.....

don't like the premise. mp will be lame.

A bit premature, no? If the abilities shown in the trailer are available in MP, that could change things up nicely. It'd be like the MP in Crysis, but with map design, frame rate and gunplay that aren't shit.

This is coming from a guy that has barely given the series a second look since MW2.

Isn't about hate or love.

The COD campaigns are almost always entertaining. They're the popcorn flicks of gaming.

Same, I buy COD only for the SP because the online community is horrible for this series.

It's not the community's fault that a MP game is broken and unbalanced.

Faulty lag compensation, overpowered weapons, cluttered maps that promote camping, and head-glitch spots where people are basically impossible to hit, are what ruins Call of Duty. You can't blame the community for taking advantage of lame things the (incompetent) developers allow them to do.

You might be in for a shock then, because COD has been steadily getting worse and worse ever since MW2 in 2009. I've played all of them, and that's not an exaggeration.

So. Is safe to say, that this game is coming out on all platform (Yes including Wii U), according to Call of duty (Activision) history.

What's your problem? Did you know that before modern warfare people played these games mainly for their campaign? Call of duty 2 had an excellent campaign, and I thought modern warfare had a great campaign too. It's not unusual at all.

The thing they are wearing reminded me of the Elysium exoskeleton thing.

So then Makarov or Zakhaev doing their own side mission doesn't make Russia evil.

except thats not true either...because what they did was make it seem like an American had attacked Russia ("No Russian")...causing the actual Russian Army to invade America...that order would have come from the President, or Prime Minister of Russia...whoever has supreme command over the military...i believe the President in their case...

General Shepard and his troops (Shadow Company?) went rogue...there was no involvement from higher US military command, or the Commander in Chief (The President)....

Either way, that point doesn't even matter. The dude I quoted acted like this game is all about Merca when the MW trilogy was mainly the British SAS.

Task Force 141 is absolutely "multi-national" not just British SAS...Shepard (American) is their leader until he betrays them

The tradition continues. I'll play it.

I buy them mainly for SP as well. They're fun and the spectacle is great.

A safe bet is 2016. Past gen consoles is an attractive install base (still growing) for the game makers. I really dont see a problem with cross gen titles. Some fanboys use the cross gen excuse, to justify why the game looks bad on her console. Apart from that, not a problem.

Guys, we still need a pixel count on this gameplay footage.

I don't have a 1080p display handy with me right now, so I can't do it.

Oh, I'm well aware. I've played demos and borrowed the controller from a few friends just to check it out and it never grabbed me. Did they at least add some kind of physics based hit detection? I remember the BLOPS demo completely lacking that feature. Killzone 2 had some great reactions back in 2008 and it's not like that was the first game to do it either.

OH COME ON MAN

I don't want this game at all but I want Spacey. What a move. It'll be played now

That's what got me interested.

I honestly would be surprised if they even bothered with a WiiU version.

Right now it's confirmed for PC, PS3, PS4, XB360, XB1.

This looks like fun. If it gets good reviews and doesn't boil down to American paranoia, I might pick it up. This gen has left me starved for a fun shooter and I might even consider getting CoD. Going to try and finish MW and MW2 to get in the mood.
