Youkai Watch PS3?
SDa9HAy.png

Where's the power cable?

So, given Nintendo has shipped 1.81M units to Japan through March, and sell through is sitting at about 1.72M through April, there's about 90K in shipments from last quarter still in the channel, or roughtly 18 weeks worth of inventory at current rate?

Were retailers expecting the effect of Mario Kart to precede its launch more?

You're excited for Nintendo financials these days? Most of the recent ones have been awful to witness, terrible numbers and mostly empty promises :/

I'm much more excited to see if Youkai Watch reached 100k last week or not :p

I don't really care if numbers are good or bad (though I always prefer good ones, obviously!), I just love getting sales data (unlike most people in sales thread). I want to see how well a certain game or console is doing, understand why it's selling so good/poorly, etc... Nintendo are a pretty good place to get that kind of info, even though you also get some more or less empty promises mixed in too.

Finally, a PS4 game which is NOT a port.

Ok, it's a Compile Heart game, which won't sell that much (due to being niche), whihc is a "idol x RPG"...but it's finally something. I hope there are more announcements for the next months, situation for 2014 is still awful.

Comgnet's retail chain preorder comparisons, as of May 7th, 2014

[3DS] Yokai Watch 2 - 124pt + 97pt = 221pt

[Wii] Mario Kart Wii - 108pt
[3DS] Mario Kart 7 - 97pt
[WiiU] Mario Kart 8 - 103pt

[PSV] Persona 4 The Golden - 121pt
[3DS] Etrian Odyssey IV - 46pt
[3DS] Shin Megami Tensei IV - 80pt
[3DS] Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl - 39pt
[3DS] Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth - 78pt

[PSV] Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 - 25pt
[PSV] Chō Megami Shinkō Noire: Gekishin Black Heart - 34pt + 19pt = 55pt

Pretty good numbers for Youkai Watch 2... damn it, it's really gonna break some sales record, that one.

Mario Kart 8 is also doing pretty well. Guess it has a chance to reach 200pts before release, as there's always lots of pre-orders during the last few days.

Good numbers for Persona Q, though kinda disappointed it's not holding up better, compared to P4G.

Ah yeah getting updated LTDs is always nice and interesting although I'm not quite sure there's any interesting new numbers to look forward to this time, we'll see.

I think it is fair to say that MK8 looks better than any other Wii U game from the pre-orders point of view. Also the way how it jumped on top position on different amazon sites everytime some major info popped up makes it seem like it will be quite succesful (as it can be on Wii U).

Is Golden Week good for sales? I mean can we expect good numbers from this 5-11.5.2014 week?

IIRC -- someone correct me if I'm wrong -- but Golden week is usually within the top 3 or 4 weeks of the year in terms of sales, I think. (Others being last week of the year, first week of the year, Obon, the beginning of summer vacation and maybe something else I'm forgetting.)

I'm going with Google Translate, so I don't know.

"has prepared a new large-scale collaboration in the second half of the year"

The picture you posted shows Zelda Musou, which I found it to be weird if they called it a "new" collaboration. So it's a new collaboration after all.
Is it Xbone exclusive? lol

Still scheduled for Summer 2014, lol. Nintendo will probably start advertising it two weeks before launch. Get that 50k LTD.

And it seems Koei Tecmo is teasing a new big collaboration. (Google Translate)

http://www.famitsu.com/news/201405/07052836.html

Taken from Koei Warriors:

Zelda Musou/Hyrule Warriors will be released this Summer (at least in Japan?). However other than that, KOEI-Tecmo's CEO Erikawa is also hinting that there will be a new large-scale collaboration coming in the latter half of the fiscal year (should be around Oct 2014 - Mar 2015) without giving a glimpse on the title.

This franchise collaboration is also planned to overseas. So far franchises like Gundam and One Piece expanded first in Asia and then to the West, but this time they will be collaborating with an IP originated from the West, though the CEO still refuses to give a hint on the IP.

Well KT loves to collaborate Musou with other franchise, so...
What's up next?

Well considering it doesn't say anywhere that it has to be game IP it can be literally anything.

Game of Thrones musou, Elder Scrolls muson, Dragon Age Musou or hundreds of other examples.

Mpl90

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
That's...ok, I suppose it deserves a brand new thread.
IP born in the West? What would fit the bill?

300 Musou
Kill Bill Musou
The Lord of the Rings Musou

Going with game IP only...

Mass Effect Musou
Total War Musou

I'm a bit clueless :lol

From the previous page :

Most of the process is automatic, and many people still work on holidays anyway.

4Gamer has a warning they will only updated May 8th. This means a 2 to 26 hour delay.

Famitsu didn't say anything.

And cool for Zelda Musou, but worried by the total lack of info. Just like Bayo 2 and X, to be honest. We're heading toward a very empty summer, I'm afraid : /

Game of Thrones musou

*__*

Me wants.

Hmm, I guess Western publishers or IP holders wouldn't really be that interested in licensing out their property for a Musou game. So maybe some kind of action title by Team Ninja? Could be a comic book property. Heck, TMNT isn't all that crazy (though Nirolak certainly is).

Musou Rancher. EDIT: I didn't read the comment properly, so my joke doesn't even work. :|

I've heard that Ninja Turtles was pretty big over there. I mean, they gave us this:

Dead Or Alive X Senran Kagura Xtreme Beach Volleyball.
Sadly it's a western game so i'd go with halo.

I just read the article and it didn't specify Warrior's series as the target to be collaborated.
However I can't imagine any other series KT has to be mixed with other companies' franchise, including non-game.

That's what Senran Kagura SV really is after all I guess.

God of War Musou!

They won't even need to touch the controls :p

Even if I didn't say it, somebody would

And I'd actually buy it

TLOR is a nice option too. Loved Return of the King game and some stages were almost like a musou (don't know how places are named in English though).

Maybe some Star Wars musou (although Star Wars Battlefront was almost like one of them).

I don't have any other idea.

Some more:

Fable musou!

Hmm... interesting. I wonder what it could be.

Western Musou?

I don't see any/many companies to even know what Musou is to want to collaborate so it's probably something for a platform holder again, tecmo koei is pretty close with Sony and they do have franchise developed in west that can work....

God of Warriors!
Heavenly Sword Warriors.

I'd bet on second one if I had to.
