still think a retro mode for the new smash would be a cool easter egg

you could have a nes version, snes , N64 but only for characters that were in that era

do it Sakurai

Final Fantasy 13 would have been 100x better on the SNES:

Those 2 Dark Souls ones are making me wish a 2d remake of the game did exist. Oh, if only I could be so flatly pixellated...

The Super Mario Galaxy one is also amazing, though it gives me more a GBA vibe than a SNES one.

These look a lot nicer than pretty much any actual sprite work from that era.
A lot of these are not very authentic in their use of color and resolutions, plus making one single fake screen is way easier than making a game, obviously :p

Thanks for mentioning. That inspired me to make this from it.

Too damn awesome. Giving me like Super Castlevania vibes all throughout this. As an old (school) gamer, these demakes and 8-16 bit art styles have me drooling, and yet so so sad that it will never happen.

There have been some nice looking KS projects lately. I can imagine really nice pixel 'retro' looking games becoming a trend this gen. Maybe not for old franchises, but who knows. The unexpected announcement of an existing series in a similar art style would be fun.

these are pretty cool. i especially like how they took the unique gameplay of Mirror's Edge and made it a generic sidescroller, but that's besides the point.

Way better than 8 bit. All I want for Christmas is Sonic Generations done up in the style of Sonic 2's sweet, sweet title screen.
