I was forget and Daylight Savings confuses things even more. Are we looking at a few minutes or another hour for the results?

And in Europe Symphonia was bundled with the GC.

Why are they wearing headcrabs?

Thanks. Is it NPD results this week as well? Or next?

It's September 4 for the Xbox One in Japan. I'd be surprised if it managed to reach 100k during the first week, tbh.

NPD numbers will be out on Thursday/Friday (depending on where you live).

New Media Create numbers are (almost) always put online at 10PM JST.

Thats not what hurt it. The Tales fanbase are dedicated. Simply put, the Tales fanbase were not on the Wii. They were on the PS3.
Both were definitely a factor, as was the extreme bugginess of the initial release. Even by Wii standards Graces sold less than it probably should have though going by the fact an escort game like DOTNW sold the same amount previously. It wasn't simply an audience problem even though there was also an audience problem.

They are small company that only works mostly on Sony platforms and PC- they would have to outsource it and it would be most likely port of one of psp games.
They don't support PC development anymore. And if Falcom can manage to allocate enough resources to a high end flop like PS4 I don't see how something as low end and popular 3DS is really outside their capabilities. Even now I any bet cheap PSP test ports would perform better than they did on Vita or PS3 too.

I liked their plan of making exclusives for each console early in last gen's console generation. I realize that Baba's dev team and budget can't be stretched to do so anymore without an infusion of either man power and money, but the way things stand, they live and die on PS3 surviving as a medium.

And the Tales games are pretty much uprezzed PS2 games today, so I can't imagine Bandai-Namco would move Tales to PS4 anytime soon, or expect those fans to do so. Those games need to take a graphical leap before anything else, IMO.

Next you'll say Atelier games are pretty much upressed PS2 games. These games could easily just benefit from higher res and some extra details but nothing too major.

This week's numbers are going to be pretty low, aren't they?

Yup. It's going to be pretty brutal. There isn't even a single new release.

Edit : wow, 3DS held pretty well. By the way, it's Famitsu numbers, right?

About Tales, as a primarily Nintendo/PC gamer, I really feel like Bamco has really been awkwad at best with the way they deal with the franchise. Overall, I think they're being way too conversative, mainly because they took the wrong risks in the past (mainly the 360 exclusive, the bugguy Grace). It's a shame, but well, as long as the franchise remains healthy on PS Platforms, can't really complain (even though I ain't taking part of the adventure).

A bit worried about the shrinking home console market and their absolute refusal to make anything significant on a handheld.

September, I think.

My god, it really is embarrasing that they've needed 10 extra months to do this.

When they announced that there would be various tiers of countries, I couldn't imagine Tier 2 countries would have to wait so much time. I imagined they'd release on June at the latest.

They'll probably have some Japanese game for their launch. I expect that, as other people have already said, they'll only fund games with Western appeal. Something from Platinum, From, Capcom...

I don't think they'll start getting (timed) exclusive deals like in the early 360 era, seeing how bad it worked for them. Especially now that the market is in a much worse condition than 8 years ago.

People loved handheld past gen but, in the end, the Wii sold 12 millions and the PS3 will end above 10 million units. This gen things sales will be much worse even if the PS4 sells as much as the PS3 did.

Cool. So 2pm here in the UK for Media Create, and Thursday night for NPD

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Just to be clear, what was the main difference between this year and last years in terms of Golden Week days distribution? Main festivity days? Since it's been said that this week wouldn't have seen drops as huge as last years due to some holidays being in the week after the "official" GW.

From the developer lists it seems they're still going after the hardcore STG crowd too. It doesn't seem entirely western focused but the Japanese targeted stuff is pretty niche.

Is PS4 development innately more expensive regardless of the scale of the project?

8k console club is cute.

I bet they have a secret handshake and everything.

Hmmm... I think the reason the 3DS held so well is because the first two days of the week are still part of the GW.

That, or that 3DS LL promotion is working. Quite curious to see Youkai Watch numbers!

It's in the link unless you are talking about something else.

1.Youkai Watch (Level 5) 3DS – 58,988

Pretty sure those are Media Create numbers even though it says so in the article, Famitsu doesn't have XL/OG 3DS split.
Media Create doesn't count bundle sales for NSMBU/Wii Party U so I doubt they made MC Top 10. It has to be Famistu.

Yeah that's a good point. Odd that they have the split when Famitsu doesn't give it out on the official site though.

Oh yes, didn't see that. But I'm interested in MC numbers, for consistency (this is Famitsu, right?).

Last week numbers were considerable higher for Famitsu, compared to MC. So many downloads coards?

For those wondering, PS3 went under 10k in Week 19, 2007. 8,839 according to MC for that week.

Japanese companies are the first that don't care about home console systems. It's completely logical that consumers are turning back on PS4 or Wii U.

Weeks taken to go under 10k after the launch

PS3 - From Week 45, 2006 to Week 19, 2007 - 27 weeks
Vita - From Week 50, 2011 to Week 14, 2012 - 17 weeks
Wii U - From Week 49, 2012 to Week 8, 2013 - 12 weeks
PS4 - From Week 8, 2014 to Week 19, 2014 - 12 weeks

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
With that WiiU/PS4 performance pressure is even biffer on the upcoming Nintendo handheld to secure what else is left from the traditional japanese gaming market. Please Nintendo dont screw it up- kick ass handheld in 2016 which can be the base for all upcoming homeconsole game.
