I think this is so obscure that if you know of this, I'll befriend you instantly, no questions asked.

I think I got it from a CD that came with a magazine way back in the mid-90's. Was a lot of fun, despite its simplicity. The character graphic used an icon file, so I used Locke from FF3/6 for mine. lol

holy shit, dude. HOLY SHIT.

I had completely forgotten about the existence of this game, and now you post an image and some vague memories come back to me. And then I do a google image search and it's like a wave of nostalgia.

Damn.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.

This game was the shit.

There was a few that I can't for the life of me remember the names of but came on some game compendium disk that I've been trying to find for years, just to satisfy my curiosity. Every time I see a thread like this I jump in super hopeful that somebody will post the game, but they never do.

SOMEONE HELP ME OUT WITH THIS ONE!

There was this one edutainment game we played in the computer lab in grade school where you play as a little anthropomorphic droplet of water and run around on platforms against the background of a brick wall, and I think you collected numbers or letters to solve math or grammar problems or something. I think there were enemies running around as well, and you could climb up and down ladders, and I think there was an ice cube pickup that froze all the enemies in place? And some kind of bonus game where you ran back and forth and drops of water would fall from the screen and you had to try to catch them.

Every time I remember this game I try to find out what it's called, but I've never had any luck. I know someone here has to know what I'm talking about, help me out!

C'mon, anyone else remember this? In all my Googling all I've been able to find is one other person looking for the same thing with no answer. Someone has to know what this game was called!

Im sure some people have played this. its the first 3d platformer and aimlessly exploring the rooms in Emotion mode is really relaxing

Crazy Drake
I think I found this looking at a list of pc platformers on like gamespot or gamefaqs or something. Its an earthworm jim clone

Knex Lost Mines
I got this as a kid because I loved Knex but i could never figure out what to actually do in it. I remember figuring out how to access the dev console at one point on accident

Animaniacs A Gigantic Adventure
The only reason why I know about this game is because for some reason the developers licensed the Jazz Jackrabbit 2 engine to make the game with. Its a really awkward platformer

I'm pretty sure I remember a PC Gamer review of this (it was not flattering). I use to read and re-read that magazine obsessively

Oh snap, forgot these gems as well:

I remember feeling like a badass playing Jumpstart 6th Grade when I was only still in 4th. I was legit shook during the Biome and Pyramid minigames though. Gotta git gud.

An old game called locus. It had support for an old vr headset called the vfx 1. You pay in this sort of sport where you sit in these sleds and slide accross an arena and try to score goals by picking up /steal balls and shoot them off in goal pits.

I can't remember the name of the game and honestly I've given up, not sure it even exists even though I'm pretty sure it does but eh.

It was a horror-style platformer where your parents and siblings have vanished and you need to go save them... I think you picked which "level" on your bed...

Does anyone know? Please? D: I've been trying to find it for years...

Does anyone know? I mean I want to say it had a very... Tim Burton art style. The intro cutscene is the main character getting off his school bus to find his house empty...

I'm dying to know what game this is...

Train Engineer Deluxe was so little-played by the general public, I can't find any screenshots from it that are of acceptable resolution to show how it looked! I liked it, though, because crashes and derailments were shown via videos of model trains acting out the wrecks, with full-scale-sounding sound effects edited in.

Also, sign me up as someone who played the Jumpstart games!

I have 2 very obscure ones:

1. This one came in a ZIP disk back in like '93. The disk had a fuck ton of games but I have forgotten almost all of them, except one: a multiplayer game. You played on a board and the goal was to put pieces to "eat" your opponent. Each player started near a corner (their icon was a smiley face haha) and each turn you'd place a line or something (not sure what the sapes) in a grid until you managed to eat your opponent's face (game had hilarious sound effects). I remember I played the game all the time with one friend and we always laughed at the names of the CPUs (Leopold and Prudence).

2. I have no idea where I got it from, but there was an education game of Marvel heroes that was a bit fun back like in '98 (or even earlier). Only thing I remember there was a minigame where the Green Gobling threw pumpkins with math operations and you had to solve them or some shit to win.
EDIT: Not sure, but this one may be called "Amazing Math Starring Marvel Super Heroes".
EDIT 2: It actually is, the description of the Spider Man game is the one I remember. There are no screenshots though...

Sadly I have no idea how either game was called. If anybody feels like they know any of these games and has any information it'd be amazing if you share haha.

I loved this one, and the rest of the Jumpstart, Clue Finder, and Super Solver series. There was a similar one in like a haunted mansion or something too, but I don't remember the name.

There's also this less popular one which had minigames including a blimp race, and getting creatues in the right stadium seats so they weren't annoyed by their neighbors

I loved the Jump Start games as a kid, I had no idea they went up to 6th grade! I only played up to fourth. The cover art for it reminds me of Jumpstart Typing which was 90s as hell:

This post also reminded about the weird math blaster spinoffs that I would see in catalogs but never on store shelves

To this day I have no idea what the hell these games actually are beyond their box art

I remember some Vic 20 games, was lucky to find a YouTube video of at least one game to get a name for it. Probably not too many people here have played them:

Race (your car is stationary on the screen, only moving sideways, there's cars coming from the bottom of the screen and you have to pass them, the speed goes up all the time making it harder and harder)

Another one is a snake game of sorts. You must eat all the blocks on the screen, but there were I think 6 or 8 specific squares on the srceen and inside them are snakes. So when you eat the blocks around those squares, the snakes get free, making your job harder. It was a fun game. Unfortunately couldn't find a video.

Back in 2000 when I was 13 years old, my best friend somehow got in contact with a guy over ICQ who created a game called "Big Money Online Racing." He would always hit us up on ICQ to play the game online with him, or just chat. We eventually kind of realized that the dude was a bit of a weirdo and ended up blocking him.

I think this screenshot pretty much tells you everything you need to know about the game.

Edit:

I used to own that, along with this:

...and a host of other handheld electronic games. There was a 2 player baseball game that got tons of play.

I played that baseball game! My dad owned it when he was younger, and I dug it up at my grandparents' house! It sucked.

I'm not talking about Starsiege:Tribes, I'm talking about the original Starsiege with mechs.

Have yet to find anyone who played it.

I still have a boxed copy of this along with the large compendium book that it came with. I enjoyed the original Earthsiege and Starsiege games.

Not too obscure for old GAF (1991) but my first real PC game.
Night_Hawk_-_F-117A_Stealth_Fighter_2.0.png

Same for me. Picked it up at a computer fair along with an EGA graphics card. Although I got the F-19 version with the purple cover. It was only recently that I discovered it was designed by Sid Meier. I never loved Civ games, but I adored this one - so I now respect the man.

"Load the truck" the very first game I've ever played. It's a DOS game made in the 80s. You just had move the blocks on the truck trailer, matching the top right combination. I really liked this game when I was 4-5. I'd be surprised if anyone here ever played it.

This is the only image I could find...

And apparently it was part of a packaged game called "Amy’s First Primer"

In looking it up I can't find an awful lot other than a page on Giant Bomb that I surprisingly found out was mostly written by me, but oh well.

I'm not sure if it's actually called Fuzzy's World of Miniature Space Golf, but I remember it distinctly as Fuzzy's World of Intergalactic Space Golf.

That and Wacky Wheels got a lot of play time at lunch at my friend's house in high school.

I remember playing this Tomb Raider-esque game in the late 90s where you took control of this shirtless dude with a ponytail, and could fly around at will. There was a theatre level, and I believe you had to fly through the screen, at which point you were in this bizarre world filled with faeries. I can't for the life of me remember the name of it though. Does anyone have an idea?

We used to have an old mac with stuff like lode runner, but it had this dungeon crawling RPG in it where one character class was Indiana Jones.

can't spell but the two I'm about to post have probably been played but I gotta mention it

Legend of the Zoombinies if that's the name

the secret island of Dr Quandary

those PC games were my childhood in school lol B^)

Close - "Logical Journey of the Zoombinis." I can never forget that game - came here to post it. I have no idea how widespread it was, but it was amazing (and super educational).

Also no idea how obscure this was. Anyone else play these?
