I said it many times before they might go the Palmer/Chief half story route, just the way they hyped her so much, making her be at the forefront of Spartan Ops and all those stories and comics.

It could also be Cortana who takes over a Spartan suit or something and fights against/alongside Chief? Sort of like the SA-X in Metro Fusion?

edit- lel, watch the 'giant leap' nod be in regards to Halo 4 getting a Xbone sku, now with a new season of Spartan Ops.

Looks like Ntkrnl was right as well and that H2A is definitely happening this year now. Because MS has already said your next Halo experience happens in 2014, and CBoaT was on the money with his "Guardians" image.

Chief goes rogue after mission 1 and in mission 2 you take control of Palmer and QTE the Chief to death. In future lore rogue Chief is remembered as the Hitler to Halsey's Mengele and 343 fulfil their Lightning desires and release a Palmer trilogy.

I suspect it is the same desert. Also i suspect it is the Ark as someone has noted that Halo Xbox One Trailer desert looked quite a lot like the desert on the mission The Ark in Halo 3.

EDIT, wait Cboat made a guess about Halo Guardians? When?

Depends on what community Bonnie talking about embracing. Also, I wonder why Frankie was quoting The Cider House Rules earlier. Either way, I don't want to get my hopes up. But a 3 year dev cycle with the new hardware, this could be such a huge leap forward for Halo.

I'd be interesting if they re-branded Kelly or Linda and sent them because they knew of the connection they had. Definitely a female, hedge your bets against Palmer. :/

The Spartan works for ONI, doesn't have dual pistols, doesn't have Scout armor, and is badly received and 343i knows this. I doubt it is Palmer, and i really, really hope it isn't.
I also don't think it will be Naomi or any known Spartan, it will be someone new. Probably.

Perhaps... now this is just a wild guess and not really serious but how about Veronica Dare as Spartan IV?

Well, things being poorly received from GAF have always gone over the way we've wanted them to, right?

So unless they didn't con Kelly or Linda or someone to help out ONI, it's either Palmer, someone entirely new -- or hell, maybe this is some robo-cortana imprint based off of Halsey. Dat blue...

What if that top Spartan is Chief? I mean we already know his armor is old and broken up. What if that is his new armor? Coupled with Cortana back with him for the blue in the visor? Though the top Spartan does fit a more feminine form. I want to think it's Cortana. Somehow she put herself inside a Spartan IV suit. Or Halsey learned she died and created another one to get revenge on ONI/Palmer.

The fact the cover is depicting a reflection says to me that this other character is probably more an indication of player choice than anything else.

Don't forget about the reveal trailer which was clearly chief in his signature armor so I highly doubt he's switching out of what he's had since Halo 4. It seems they intended that redesign to reflect a lot of work put into his refreshed identity.

The top Spartan might be the "replacement" for Chief that was spoken about in the interrogation with Halsey during the opening CGI scene during halo 4. Either that or Cortana always liked it on top...

Poncho Chief, and now Black Widow Spartan. Guardians? what about Spartans...when you have two Spartans on you cover...
Call it Guardians when the Chief has ascended or the Mantle is a common pop thing among gamers.

Destiny Guardians have space magic, medieval inspiration etc...they are guardians of the remnants of Humanity vs the Universe. it makes sense. tho it's not well crafted litterature.

Also, I loved how the press release was crafted : new engine "feels" like Halo. I get it. thanks.

Unless that's the point, and there's gonna be a Ground Zeroes type thing happening.

Guardians have been part of Halo lore since Halo 3. Bungie's fault for reusing the name.

Yep. Though even "Halo: Guardians" is kind of lame IMO, but at least it is better than "Halo 5: Guardians".

Guardians of the Mantle!!! yes. not Guardians. without the Mantle, guardians has no place when you have stories about Spartans. and bungie strayed far away from Spartan whereas it's a common thing too when talking about soldiers.
And when has the baton between Forerunners and Humans passed? do you think many people will get "it" after Halo 4 story handling?

no...you will need to read a carefull crafted book that will impy but not tell too much etc...

and what is the Mantle? it's dead "thing" as of now. So implying it's existence with the subtitle while featuring Spartans...is not great.

So far the Guardians of The Mantle are the Forerunners. The rest is just implied. and the Mantle having not manifested yet to any human...

If you feel happy about the reveal, I'm very fine with it. I'd like to be you right now.

Halo OT : Guardians of the Destiny Galaxy, or the Mantle...or something COD/Star Wars...or Guardians of the X1 in distress.

I like that art, Shame chief hasn't had any changes to his suit. New spartan? looks great first thought was Cortana. Hopefully we will get H2 style split story playing as both. They could even redeem Palmer that way it it was her.

Truth be told I don't hate palmer.

Interested in the series too, any actual info on that?
