Nintendo handling Layton didn't keep Layton Brothers off iOS. That said I still feel like the toy cross-promotion with Namco Bandai would be beneficial, they're a strong western 3DS publisher already and with the success of Ni No Kuni I can see them being eager to work more with Level 5. Plus I don't think Nintendo is at all interested in LBX and Yo-kai Watch might be a little too close to Pokémon for them to schedule in.

I'd still rather see Nintendo pick up Fantasy Life anyway personally.

anyway, I've the Bandai figures of Little Battlers here in my hands...the anime will start next Monday on the free TV in my country, and...the figures are GREAT, I hope the anime will have strong audience, and I look forward for the videogame :p

Right while I'm getting ninja'd might also reply to this. I mean it's not really all that much new content is it?

- You have the two new "Reviver" (whatever you may call it) models of the T-rex and the Zuniceratops.
- 8 other models available for use (they seem to already have been in the game albeit only usable in special sections?)
- The 2 CoroCoro based vehicles for use right from the start.

If you have the basic version and play coop with the Coro-version you can excavate and use the stuff from the special version too.
Thanks for this Shurayuki!

Thanks for this Shurayuki!

No problem, always happy to help even if it ends up being something everybody already figured out through google translate or something haha.

The entire existence of this thing is just so weird.
Also orders through e-mail will take up to 10 days and snail-mail up to two weeks. The download codes have to be registered by 2014.10.15.

It's a small retailer. It only has 4 stores. So those are quite good numbers :)

Didn't know that! In that case they are way better than I thought. However, seeing the comparisons with previous Mario Kart entries it looks like we're going to see some really good sells with MK8 :)

Its 4 stores in one region of Japan. It is really not a predictor of what sales are.

I'm sure that MK8 will have more long-term sales than MK7, maybe 4 stores aren't a 100% predictor of that, but it's a good signal!
I've actually been thinking MK8 might have a bigger FW than MK7, but won't do as well long term, for a variety of reasons.

I've just read what that "Blue Samurai" edition is, and it seems it's some kind of "World Championship" edition, where you can play as the Japan Team or something like this.

Previously I assumed that you had these numbers as a comparison for Mario Kart 8, but with Inazuma Eleven above I'm not so sure. People in Japan aren't still buying Mario Kart Wii, are they?

Some are, but of course this compares preorder numbers before the games got released, so Mario Kart Wii's numbers for instance are not for the current week but from before it got released.

So, a Youkai Watch 3DS edition has been announced for the same day YW2 is released.

3ds_229312-1.jpg

This 3DS doesn't include the game, and its price is 18.000 (like the other XL models).
So, can we assume that one of the games of the free promotion for July is gonna be Youkai Watch 2? It seems a lock for me.

They've already been announced to be Pokemon X/Y and Puzzle and Dragons Z, haven't they?

I asked this question earlier in the thread, but can you participate in the promotion if you import the console from outside of Japan?

That's June.

I don't know. It's supposed to be a voucher or something like this. But i don't know if it's in the box (don't think so) or they give it to you when you buy it on the shop. I can check it.

Maybe streetsahead or someone else knows.

I really doubt they'd include a brand new game that has really high sales potential as a free game in the month it's released.

Well, the first game is approaching the million and it will be above that mark when the second will be released. So more than a million buyers have already the console.

But if they want to reach on a larger audience and sell a lot of hardware they should include the game. If you think about it, it's just like a bundle.

And the fact that there's a special edition without the game is what it makes me think they will do that.

There was a MH4 3DS special edition without the game.

They are not going to include a new game for free, that's not how hardware bundles usually work. They are just trying to benefit from the popularity of YW to sell consoles.

Pokemon Art Academy will be released in June and it is in the campaign for that month, right?

Why would L-5 care about hardware sales? It's not like one free game is gonna attract billions of people to get a 3DS. If that was the case yeah I could see why L-5 should care, but it's clearly not.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

This.

If course Yokai Watch is still selling well but the game is over a year old and the successor is launching soon. No way they will include high profile 3rdoaety titles at launch for the promotion.

It's definitely a code the retailer sends/gives you. I mean, it'd be a logistical nightmare to make sure there's no code in the box for 3DS XL sold right before and right after the promotion. And they probably want someone buying a 3DS XL on September 30st at 11.59PM to get a code, so...

Not sure about YW2 being the free game. I doubt Level-5 would miss on those sales, tbh, but as you pointed out, Pokémon Art Academy is included in the promotion, so...

Uhm... that's true. And they haven't announced the games for July.

I still think it's unlikely but you have a point.

Yeah, thanks.
The other point I have is that in April-May the first Youkai Watch was in the campaign, when the game was (and is) selling like crazy.

Remember that a lot of people predicted that this move could cut its sales? But it didn't, the game is still selling like crazy.

As i said, there're over a million of buyers already with the console. I don't think including the game with the XL will hurt and lose as sales as some people think.

We'll see.
