Third and last for today is ready! This one was the hardest. By FAR.

That fucking light ruined EVERYTHING :(

I ended up cutting it out completely and giving Link a nice chain armor arm instead (I used the chain mail on his arm from the actual image for this, so the lighting even is kind of correct still). I have absolutely no experience with photoshop and it really shows here, but I think the end result looks okay nontheless. It's 2am and that pose was too cool to let it out, so whoever takes the avatar will have to live with that :D

EDIT: It's actually seems to be pretty unnoticable in the avatar itself. Whew, seems like I dodged a bullet here :O

Fun fact: That arm consists of 23 crescent-shaped photoshop layers

I'm loving the one I grabbed and I wanted to thank you again for all your hard work! You're awesome.

Yeah, probably. It isn''t Nintendo advertising this right now. There are some obvious polygons and bad textures, but some of it looks far too clean to convince me that all the screens are 100% real.
Yeah, Tecmo Koei is publishing the game in Japan so any new information, trailers, screenshots, etc is handled by them, not Nintendo. If Nintendo was publishing we probably wouldn't have any news on the game till E3, and there wouldn't be bullshots.

I'm about 75% sure this will have voice acting....so will this count as the first Zelda game with voice acting or is it too removed from the series like CD-I games?

I mean, the game probably looks better than the initial trailer now, but I think it's unlikely to meet the quality in gameplay, if for no other reason than the screens now are also smaller than native res, which will automatically make them look a little better, even if they've not been touched up.

There's a greyed-out 'movie' section on the site, so hopefully they will update with one soon (E3, probably, but maybe before). The official Twitter did say that they wanted to updated us regularly on the game.

wtf nintendo. all it would take is 1 decent zelda game to sell me your system. just continue along with the work you've already done on the wiiu tech demo and boom, instant sale. instead what do we get? wind waker and hyrule warriors. keep trying nintendo, maybe the third wiiu zelda game will be decent. or the fourth, or fifth, or...

I don't understand this post at all.
This game is being made by a third party and it's already confirmed that EAD's Zelda will be at E3.
Why so mad, bro?

A remake and a spinoff aren't going to interfere with the development of the next main Zelda game, they're by different teams.

You do know this isn't being developed by Nintendo right?

Rest

All these years later I still chuckle at what a fucking moron that guy is.
Am I the only one that thinks Link has a girl's face in these images?

Damn, that's a great design for Impa - did not expect this game to have such quality in art design

This game keeps getting me more hype for what the upcoming Zelda Wii U must be like.

Went from looking like a 'meh' title to a must-buy for Zelda fans in a few days.

Just need to see more gameplay.

Am I the only one that thinks Link has a girl's face in these images?

Nope.

He's always been man-pretty.

Some part of the interview translated.

Coming from a Famitsu interview with Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma and Tecmo Koei producers Hisashi Koinuma and Yosuke Hayashi...

- both the game and the development team constitute a collaboration of sorts
- the main programmer on Hyrule Warriors is a staff member from Team Ninja
- the main planner served the same role in Omega Force’s development of One Piece: Pirate Warriors
- the director has a background in the Dynasty Warriors series
- this is the first time that Team Ninja and Omega Force have worked together
- this is something they’ve wanted to do for a while, but never had the chance to

“When it comes to getting a good feeling out of beating down enemies, Omega Force, who develop the Dynasty Warriors games, would surely have an edge in that department. However, as far as one-to-one combat goes, I felt that that Team Ninja, who worked on the Dead or Alive series, could also come up with something good. So, we just decided ‘let’s just mix them together!’” - Koinuma
“When we first began working on the plans [for the game], there were many things that we couldn’t decide on from within our company alone, so we often went to Nintendo and also consulted with Aonuma for the more detailed parts. As this process went on, we were able to see a fine line between what we could and couldn’t do with Hyrule Warriors. It got to the point where we and Aonuma reached a common understanding of what we could do with Hyrule Warriors, and from there, development really really sped up.” - Hayashi
“The Legend of Zelda has a history of 27 years, and the way it is played has already been well-established. So at first, we went in the direction of wanting to make something that could follow the way The Legend of Zelda is played. However, that is something you could experience by playing any game of The Legend of Zelda series, and even if we could imitate the surface of it, it’s not something we could actually make. In the end, we realized that it would be best to make a Warriors title that has elements from The Legend of Zelda series.

There wouldn’t be a reason for making it a Warriors [game] otherwise, right? I wanted Tecmo Koei to make a Zelda game that I can’t make. And for this reason, I asked them to ‘give it more of a Warriors approach’.” - Aonuma

Ok, this is really the last one for today. But when I saw him at the first page I just couldn't resist doing it. This avatar took me the longest, but it also was the most fun one to create yet. Preserving the torn out look of the robe was a top priority and I think it turned out really well. Almost reminds me of character artwork now :D

Michelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel. Yabuki turned off voice chat in Mario Kart races. True artists of their time.

Nice cut. By the way, I don't know if you've noticed, but there's a white dot in your avatar. I use the dark theme so it tickles my OCD a bit.

How much more would you grumble if you knew I already have a second set ready to go and actually stopped like 15minutes ago? :p

I love the art style. I hope they cram as much Zelda characters as possible just to see their take on them. Had a lot of fun with Dynasty Warriors 2 back during the PS2 days so I'll probably pick this up when I get the chance.
