Watch_Dogs |OT| PS4 would probably melt trying to do this

I'm reading so much hate for this game from people who haven't played it. Is it cool now to hope games suck so the gaming industry suffers and we have fewer good games to play?

We get it in just under 5 hours in Aus. If you've pre-ordered it you get a timer next to it in your library saying how long til unlock so maybe check for that.

NIce, just gotta wait for the key to come through now, gmg is usually good to me.

I feel you man. There are some people in the review thread who just can't conceive that Watch_Dogs could be good.

There does seem to be a lot of pre-release negativity lately towards a lot of games on GAF. I imagine a lot of them have been burned by hype in the past so having really low expectations going in protects them.

New footage was released. Labeled as PC. Several people went "lol console downgrades. PC master race ftw. This looks awesome. PS4 would melt trying to run this."

Turns out it was PS4 footage.

I've played the beta and I loved every min of it. I don't care if they don't like it. Even if the game gets a 7/10 I'll still enjoy it.

Probably this ^

If the game reviews well, people who are "hating" on it will eventually pick it up and might be surprised.

If the game sucks, people will be smugly satisfied.

Honestly, if watch dogs came out when it was supposed to, I would have passed on it. Now since I am hungry for something to play, I have been anticipating it a bit more.

Not me in the image.
I partially want to trade and rebuy AC4 just to get a cover without the Target banner.
Walmart will also have a special banner too.
I feel like getting all of those retailers in on this DLC crap is the worst thing to have happened to cover art. Then again it's USUALLY not these games where I care the most and they were pretty eager to plaster other crap on top anyway.
Could just be meant as a fun reference... or it goes deeper and Ubisoft just makes this a bigger fucking mess. I'll definitely be checking out spoilers.

So I guess people think this is dumb? I'm excited as hell about Watch_Dogs-AC connections. This is coming from a guy, though, that wears a Volante Designs Assassins Creed Hoodie all winter, wears an Assassin's Creed Belt Buckle every day, and has a 3D printed Assassin Emblem hanging from my rear view mirror. So I will concede that you wouldn't be wrong to call me a bit of a fan.

If anyone really wants to know what AC has to do with the actual storyline, one way or the other:

The story has absolutely nothing to do with Assassin's Creed.

There are also some references to CT_OS and the Blume Company in AC4 (outside the Animus), but I think Ubisoft is just messing with us and both games are unrelated.

And the lead writer of AC4 said multiple times that they are easter eggs.

Yes thank you, just found the Interwiew.

We’ve seen Abstergo in Far Cry 3 and now we’ve seen references to both Far Cry 3 and Watch_Dogs in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, are the universes linked in some meaningful way or is it just harmless fun from the design team?

Just a bit of wistful fun, that’s all. It’s hard enough keeping one game universe consistent… if we took up the task of juggling three, spacetime would collapse upon itself.

Call yourself a fan? I'm reading your comment while sporting an Assassin's Creed dressing gown ;)

Just got to the end of the first act on XOne, and apart from a bit dull visuals (comparing to old E3 videos, seems that the enivronmental effects and DOF and such have been turned off) and a bit empty world, I really enjoy the missions, even the side stuff that I usually steer away from in open world games. The missions have a Hitman sort of quality to them that lets you approach each one in multiple ways. Some of the side stuff remind me of Burnout crash mode, where you set up traps to catch targets, basically, and have some randomness to them so that they don't get boring. Honestly, at this point, I feel that the missions do everything I felt was missing from GTAV.

There are many things to worry about. Sales of Watch Dogs not belong to it. They will be fine.

So, could anyone that have tried the early shipment of Watch Dogs for PS4 chime in on this: is the pop-in as bad it seems from the video below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4EqrC-0nkc&feature=player_detailpage#t=206

I have gotten serious hype the last days, but seeing magically teleporting cars would seriously put me off.

Edit: Then again, who am I kidding? I will be buying this anyway. This abusive relationship has to come to an end some day. Just not..this time.

They won't even release it at midnight here in Central Europe (Germany). Tuesday 10am. Awesome Steam. Great. Not only that, but it unlocks earlier in the US. So why don't we at least get the same time as the US which would be 6am - that'd be better than 10am at least.

And no preload yet. Ubi is royally fucking up that release on Steam. Retail copies etc. could play since Friday - and we won't even get it at midnight on Steam :LL

It´s not dump in the slightest, imho. Those connection opens up wonderful possibilities. I always wondered how a AC could work out in the present or future, because we can´t expect the PC to climb, lets say, the NY skyline. Perhaps this is a first approach on AC-Gameplay in the digital age. The hacking could become the informationgathering like in AC 1.

Is there any chance at all that Gamestop (Germany) will call and give me the game today? Dude said he's hoping they can give it out today.

I guess I was lucky getting the PS4 version in the mail on Saturday on mail order. Didn't have time to test it until this morning, though. Looks good so far, but I'm just 2-3 hours in. I got a very GTA-deja vu feeling from the driving, though.

GTA IV or GTA V?

Because if its GTA IV, then it is shit confirmed.

GTA V. GTA IV was shit, I agree there. As a matter of fact, I hated the whole game GTA IV. Maybe it's just me. GTA V fixed all the issue I had with it, though. Watch Dogs got pretty tight car control, much like GTA V.

Come on GMG where is my key :(

I had a hard time finding Watch Dogs listed in my GMG account. When you look under "Games" there's a hidden menu:

▶ steam games
▶ capsule games
▶

^ You click the bottom arrow that has no caption and then it says:

Watch_Dogs: Deluxe Edition Download No keys available until the game is released.

Then if you click "Download" it says:

This game is not available for download yet. It will be on . Any required keys will be made available on that date.

Hmmm.

EU GAF.

WD Digital on PS4 tonight at 00:00 or tomorrow?

It's usually not possible to download it right at 00:00. In my last preorders it sometimes updated at 03:00 and sometimes I had to wait till 14 the next day. Really annoying not to know when it's available to download.

So yea it's safe to say Watch Dogs is officially awesome, there's a few things that will bother you, like not being able to drive an shoot, not being able to melee at will, kind of wish
there was a jump button, also wish there was far more active random crimes in the city, i've played for a few hours an i think i ran into a random crime happening twice. But overall man the graphics, are amazing, so is the city, online is where the real fun is at, it's just like gta, but the races are too epic lol.

Definitely think after all the shit this game got about graphics n resolution, it still is a great game at core, if you like open world games like gta, saints row, you definitely gotta get Watch Dogs, there isn't much else to buy on next gen consoles right now anyway.

Nice to hear a lot of good impressions on the game. What I have seen in videos looks good too. I personally love that there will be AC Easter eggs like there were in Far Cry 3.

Picking up my Dedsec edition tomorrow, can't wait to play it.
