Uplay and Watch_Dogs: Anyone Else Having Problems?

I took me several attempts to log in on PC this morning so I could get another hour of downloading in before work.

I'm curious when the servers recover does a player's online progress reset as promised by ubisoft when you disable the online options in game? Anyone?
There is a warning to that end when you disable online, yes.

I have not bought WD yet myself. But just to be clear, is this problem also happening for everyone who bought the Steam version too?

Ubisoft forced the Uplay client onto those who have the Steam version as well.

Patching is handled by Steam, which is a vast improvement, but you are still shackled to Uplay.

There is nothing better than having the game already downloaded, installed, and ready, only to not be able to run it because uplay is down. I even watched a movie Non-Stop to kill time (loved it, Neeson is certified bad ass and I hope he keeps making action films forever) and uplay still doesn't work.

How is there no resume feature?

I guess there is, the first time my download timed out, it must have been corrupt or something.

I understand, but the downloading of the Steam version is different like you said.

I was wondering if anyone had trouble initially downloading the whole game through Steam.

It's weird sometimes Uplay lets you select offline and sometime it just crashes without letting you. And, unless I miss something, there's no way to just select offline mode from the start.

Oh hey, UPlay works now!

Oh wait, the game crashes during the first loading, when i select New Game. :)

EDIT: Lol.

"Verify Integrity"
"There are a number of corrupted files..."
*REPAIR*

Game still crashes.

The fuck did it repair the first time? Oh well, hopefully it'll repair them all, eventually.

It is still very slow at times; still waiting to login. I guess this will go on for a while whilst people are still buying and downloading the game.

I've not been able to log into UPlay since Tuesday morning (UK). You'd think with a game that pushed so much about online features they'd take the hit and just invest in the servers. Especially since every game from here to forever seem to be "always connected seamlessly"

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
Online and Uplay worked great before launch day.

Long time between now and then for Uplay to die.

We can only dream.

Let's hope Ubisoft realizes this in the future and instead uses Uplay as a service for unlockable content and community, instead of a game client. People flocked to South Park The Stick of Truth because of no Uplay.

They could always negotiate with Valve regarding how much money they get from game sales.
