Watch Playstation's E3 conference in movie theaters

Does it take a while for the confirmation email to arrive?

Be nice if they pulled a microsoft and gave everyone a PS4 Slim lol hahahahahahaha!

EDIT: got the email. Honestly, if someone didn't get a ticket, they could probably just photoshop their name on it and bring their ID, and it'll probably be fine, of course the seating may not

I can only speak for me but I am planning on lining up 2 and a half hours before hand and no I am not joking.

I'm probably gonna do this myself at the DC showing. Leave well before rush hour (i live in SE DC), find a parking spot and plop myself outside the theater with either my vita or a book and some music.

Should probably send an email their way asking if they can correct your situation for you, there's an address at the bottom of the registration confirmation email.
I did this. Hopefully, enough people email them about this problem so we can get it sorted out.

I'm really surprised at how close the St. Louis (Fenton) theater is. With only a smattering of theaters doing this, I figured I couldn't go, but it's just a 15 minute drive.

Can someone explain to me what being on the waiting list really means??

I read the email I got but I still don't quite understand.

It sounds like 15 minutes before the show, if there are still seats left because people either no showed or are late, they will start letting people in on the waiting list. So I guess this means you'll have to go there and wait for the best but hopefully they'll email you with some info before that.

Print your email and show up. For anyone that got a valid registration and either doesn't show up or shows up late those seats will become available and will go to those on the wait list that showed up first come first serve. Those empty seats they will start giving out 15 mins before show.

At the minimum, we will have Driveclub, The Order, Destiny and UC, on a giant screen, with crazed cheering crowds. That's the bare minimum! And it's free. For once we can use that word without the it's-not-really-free-if-you-pay-for-subscription police!

Man, I'm so excited!

Oh wait. We still have the it's-not-free-if-you-pay-for-parking police, don't we?

That wouldn't work chief. They have lists that they check against the tickets that people bring in. If the list and ticket don't match, you're SOL. I know this becuase I've been to similar freebie shows. It's standard practice.

How would it work if my guest is unable to attend? Would they let someone else I know come instead?

Uh, I had to pay for the internet service I was using when I RSVP'd!

NOT FREE

Or the not-free-if-you-have-to-pay-for-the-subway police, depending on where you live.

(Hm, I get off work at 6 and it's only a 45 minute walk from work to union square...)

There's gonna be a line of waitlisters waiting to get in. You really think they'll let you give your ticket to another friend of yours? If your guest doesn't show, then his/her seat is forfeit and the next waitlister gets it. No chance they let you give your friends's ticket to another buddy of yours. I mean, I suppose if you're out in the boonies somewhere and there's nobody else waiting to get in, you might get away with it, but otherwise, no chance in hell that's happening.

Okay, so that initial spreadsheet got trolled pretty hard. I tried to copy as much of the info as I could into this new spreadsheet (quote my post to find the link). If you added your info before, I recommend you check to see if it's still there.

EDIT: If any of you puts this link out in the open, I will find you and give you several papercuts in unpleasant places.

Shitty thing is both the tickets have my guest's name on them as well.

Yep. It's gonna be fun.

I wasn't able to watch Sony's E3 Conference last year since I was attending the Zelda Symphony of the Goddesses concert, which was at the same time as the conference. But I watched it after the concert.
Nice! Take some photos, if you can . Would love to see how it was. :)

Ah man that's awful. I think what you need to do is to try to get this addressed now, before the show. Maybe try contacting the people that are putting the show together and explaining the problem. I'm sure there's a good chance you can get this sorted out.

This.

On a related note, I can't imagine people paying for this, but who knows. Hope there aren't scalpers trying to fool people for some pocket money

It will be free and also there will be some gifs from Sony. Its a nice gesture.

Now that most of theaters seems to be sold out , besides GAF what other forums , game related pages filled the theatres ?

Has any other company done this sort of thing for a E3 conference? Sony must have something big going on with this theater stuff with what they plan on showing. Sure, it's free but this is all sorts of different on the approach for Sony fans.

WSHH. There will be fights and vertical photography galore.

I'll be at the AMC Century City event, getting there reasonably early to meet up with some of the other PlayStation MVPs. Hope to meet some gaffers there as well.
