I think they need to get rid of Karl Magnus, his blog posts are so vague and disconnected from the consumers:

By now, many of you have probably heard about the next title in the Battlefield series, Battlefield Hardline. The Visceral Studio team has done an amazing job of bringing in a completely new concept while staying true to the Battlefield core gameplay pillars. I’ve been working with Visceral GM Steve Papoutsis and his team for several years on the cops vs. criminals concept and we think you guys are going to love it! We’ve always dared to try new settings and experiences with Battlefield and seeing this new one take shape is a long lasting dream come true.

That said, I want to be sure you all understand that introducing Hardline in no way means we’re done working on Battlefield 4. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Visceral team is leading the development of Hardline, while the DICE team continues to drive BF4. We are committed to giving you the best BF4 experience possible.

Let me tell you about a few ways we’re going to continue to improve the BF4 experience.

Continued Support: There are dedicated BF4 teams in Stockholm, Uppsala and LA that will continue to address any issues that might occur. But more importantly will also look to make significant additions to the game.

Netcode Patch: We are also working on a major update to the Battlefield 4 netcode.

Community Test Environment: We launched and are planning to expand our Community Test Environment. You can see the CTE as our labs environment in which we’ll continue testing out new additions, improvements etc. before we go live with them. We’re expanding the CTE program to give more and more players the chance to test new additions.

More Features: Other features rolled out recently such as Squad Join, Rent-A-Server and Loadout Presets, many which have been directly requested by you in the community. This trend will continue.

The games we develop are services. We focus on taking care of the games post launch, delivering new content to those of you who want it and always working hard to increase quality of play. We also continue to work hard to keep investing in areas where you tell us you see opportunities for improvements and new features. Yes, we’re very excited to partner with Visceral on the development of Battlefield Hardline, but ongoing work to refine and enhance BF4 remains a top priority.

Best regards,
Karl Magnus Troedsson, DICE VP & Group GM

What I don't get is that all of these things they're adding to BF4 should have been there day one of BF4. We're more than six months since BF4 launched and we're just now getting info that they're going to improve the netcode? Really? So what are we suppose to do in the meantime, just deal with it until its fixed? On top of that, the squad join feature is completely messed up. It automatically makes your squad private so that no one else can go into it...and for some reason you can't make the squad open. So if you've got less than five friends wanting to squad together...you're better off joining the game not using the squad join feature...but they slap that word "beta" on it so that it covers their ass on the mistakes they make.

I still to this day can't believe the path DICE have taken with the Battlefield series.

I take anything Karl Magnus says with a grain of salt.

I don't know how I'm supposed to feel about this new game. BF4 only recently started working somewhat properly on Xbox 360 (except for Dawnbreaker and the odd freezing), this game looks nothing like the core battlefield experience and looks like a mixture of Pay Day and GTA. However, it looks neat...

Conflicted.

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.
Is this a Frostbite 3 game?

Blame EA, not DICE.

The Battlefield series is now firmly software as a service. EA could almost announce a subscription plan for BF4 tomorrow if they were so inclined.
The game will live or die depending on how that service is delivered. For me, they must get a responsive, consistent feeling to the gun-play, or it's a failure. I think the CTE for BF4 is an absolute must and hopefully lessons learned from it will be applied to this title. It's just a shame that it's 7 months too late for BF4.

Ok, I do blame the publisher in most instances, but when do we as a consumer get to have a quality game? You can't goto Visceral and automatically label them as a bad developer or that their game will be bad because of their crappy publisher. At the end of the day, it's a lose/lose situation, the dev gets crapped on before their new game even comes out and the consumer gets crapped on because we have a pre-conceived notion that any EA published game with the word Battlefield in the title is gonna be a repeat of the horrid BF4 launch...and what we still put up with today with BF4.

Jesus, this looks awesome. A big fan of battlefield, and a big fan of payday. A brilliant mix!

Stoked to hear that it's a 6 month old build, guess we can expect even better gameplay come E3!

Looks awesome nonetheless!

Isn't the subscription stuff kinda already there? I thought those 'Battlefield Premium' memberships worked out to something like a years worth of content updates at $5 a month, but you pay the $60 up front. Then the new Battlefield comes out.

Actually all the BF4 launch issues might have screwed with the schedule, now that I think about it.

If they are smart they will bring out preimum AFTER the damn game is release and in a work state(say about now if BF4). BF3 did that and a ton of people got it because game had proved its self at that point. EAs Pursuit of ALL the money is making them lose cash left and right.

Looks like Battlefield 3 in different clothing.

Wanted a slower and more intense Battlefield when it came to gunplay and tactics. Zip lines from building to building? Bloated weapon variety? Spray and pray combat? Motorcycles everywhere? That ain't Rainbow Six or SWAT 4.

The tone and atmosphere of Hardline is probably the most disappointing.

They could really do a variety of things with it.

In CSGO there's deathmatch which is basically run n gun CS, there's no respawn timer, so it's all instant ADHD combat. I don't have an issue with it at all because when you play bomb defusal, the game suddenly slows down and becomes more tactical.

Crazy how that works huh?

This is how EA competes with COD...

MOH perished so this could take over

So they could do a HUGE thing by saying, "Today, we're excited to show you Battlefield Hardline. You may have seen the leaked internal video that was more than six months old, but today, we're going to show you how hard we have been working on Battlefield Hardline."

Insert trailer of some cinematic mixed in with gameplay.

After trailer ends, then we have an on-stage demonstration of the speaker playing multiplayer on-line in real time with other players!

Then after the playing has stopped, the speaker then says, "what you just saw was a live multiplayer session and that very same multiplayer will be available on the E3 show floor, and not only that, but today you folks at home watching will be able to download the free Battlefield Hardline open beta for Xbox 360, Xbox One, Play station 3, Play station 4 and PC, TODAY immediately following this presentation."

Now how fucking awesome would that be?

It would be the smart thing to do and give CTE Beta mode all the way to release and then a BFH CTE so that we can fix stuff and test stuff in it. CTE really is saving battlefield and showing communication.

Seems like the beta is indeed true. Over at PlayStation E3 thread, BigBaybee recieved the following email:

"Thank you for attending the PlayStation E3 Experience. Be one of the first to live out your fantasy as a cop or criminal where you'll hunt and raid valuts in two new game modes on the High Tension map.

Here is your PS4 Access Code to download the Beta:"

Typos be damned, I hope we get an awesome beta!
