Watch Playstation's E3 conference in movie theaters

huh... I'd wanna see how many people actually show up. There's one not too far from my work (if I leave before 5, atleast). But I have zero interest in actually watching a press conference with a bunch of people...

C'mon... I mean, I LOVE VGs, was super excited for E3 but there's gotta be a line to be drawn somewhere, 'cause this is on the same level of kids screaming and crying for Justin Beaver or whoever's all the rage with teens today.
I mean, the girl with the ponytail was crying tears of joy there and I'm not taking a couple tears or watery eyes, nope, she was full-on sobbing and crying like a fountain... frankly embarrassing.
Hope you guys can see where I'm coming from and won't misunderstand me for a troll.

This is when you realice how videogames are emotionally connected with players.

Specially for KH fans, the wait took almost 6 years.

Doesn't seem like there's a huge amount of Houston people going, all together it might be 10 or 12 (so far and including guests). I'd be down for meeting up beforehand with some GAF folks to sit near each other in the theater, I'll talk with my friend.

Come on man. Would you really shit on someone's emotions over something they care about? That's like telling a music fan who has waited years to see their favorite band they need to stop crying and act like an adult. It just comes across as being a dick. I know you don't mean to be, but hat's how it looks.

If we (and by we I mean people on NeoGAF, a freaking video game message board) are going to lambast people for getting emotional/hype about the absolutely out of nowhere reveal of a game people have been waiting years for...

Well, fuck

A company being excited for their new game is a huge slap in the face to all the fans that liked their old games.
Saw this thread and all the Toronto tickets were sold out. Thanks a lot gaffers. *shakes fist*

I see you haven't been issued your fedora yet. It's in the mail.

Hey guys I need your help answering a question for me.

So I have an extra ticket, but the person I got it for won't be able to come. I remember it saying that the tickets are non-transferable, but I have another friend wanting to come now and was hoping I could hook him up with the extra ticket.

Will they allow that do you think?

It's gonna depend on the theatre more than anything. How lenient they wanna be on it.

They're not gonna allow it. The theater staff, in fact, will not be involved in the ticket taking process. That duty will fall on the eventgrid people, since they're the ones executing the event for Sony. I've been to a few other similar freebie events (mostly free movie screenings), and this is the way it's been every time. They're pretty strict about that stuff. When you arrive and are finally ready to enter the theater, the eventgrid people will authenticate each persons ticket by checking it against a list. If the ticket info doesn't match their list, then that person is not allowed in. Then, if your actual buddy who's name is tied to the ticket doesn't show 15 minutes before the show starts, then his seat will be given to a waitlister. Sometimes they even stamp peoples hands to make sure that there are no shenanigans going on.

Of course, I do live in Chicago, and there has never been a shortage of people trying to get in to freebie shows. I suppose if you live in a smaller market and there are no other people waiting to get in, then they might let your friend in.

His reaction is so perfect. lol.

God fucking damn how have I never seen that. I remember my own reaction VIVIDLY. I stayed up and had an exam the next day. Fucking Final Fantasy XV made me have to get up and just try and calm down for a while... And then Kingdom Hearts 3 happened. That was, at least for me, THE moment, even knowing both were gonna be on XBone didn't ruin it for me afterward. I hope that there's something that gauges that sort of reaction this year

Silly site listed a location states away first then had the theater a block away from my house as the second location.

Actually considering this for some reason.

It would be cool if some special guests from Sony studios showed up at some of these. I mean the Century City AMC is only a couple of miles from Naughty Dog and Santa Monica Studio. I'm mostly saying this for selfish reasons hoping to get some cool swag.

The reactions for The Last Guardian will be epic, especially when a release date for this fall is shown at the end of the re-reveal trailer
Believe :(

I'm going to make such a big epic megathread of people being owned on TLG. I can barely contain the excitement.

I get that if Sony ever does re-reveal TLG it will be when the game is damn near Gold to avoid a repeat of last time, but I don't get where all the hope and optimism comes from that it is going to be this year.

I was pretty sure TLG would be next year, now I'm feeling less sure about that.

Because it's this fucking year! Hell yeah!

Registered 2 tickets for the Columbus experience. I hope the scene isn't TOO crazy. But I'm going because I don't want to miss out on any sweet giveaways.

Why must games be singled out from everything else? It's a hobby that people love. Same as books, movies, etc. If it makes people excited enough to cry or jump up and down and scream why does it matter because it's videogames?

Seriously? No one in TNGAF?!?

I laugh every damn time. lol.

Freaking classic.

Was about to post that kingdom hearts video too

I hope reactions are like that, would be amazing

I don't know if they have anything else that could elicit that reaction. KH fans had waited 8 years for that announcement and grew up with the games so it's very close to their hearts.

TLG is long awaited but no one has ever played a TLG game so there isn't that same connection. Crash Bandicoot could come close though.

I totally understand your point, and actually i am more like you. When the new smash was announced i was exited as hell but i was actually just smiling but not acting like girl.

I guess we are just mature players..
