A solid 7/10 on this one, pretty nice overall, but was mostly multiplatforms, in terms of exclusives, only sunset overdrive was exciting, while everything else was CG trailers

Cringe worthy the first hour (most of the fall titles) and better then with 2015 ones.
Lots of bullshit, thanks ubi. Lots of teaser CG thanks microsoft.
Nothing new, all sequels, the highlight was a collection of remakes of Halo.

The whole cool, teen humor was really cringeWorthy. Sunset overdrive tops them all with its attitude hiding the overabundance of scripts.
Maybe I m a bit harsh because I dont know Phantom Dust and the whole crackdoN teaser worried me more than it made me excited.

MisureX is gonna have a field day with Xboxs conference. Can't wait to read his insider daily posts about "I told you so".

Solid presser. The format was great and hope everyone adopts it. The content was solid. No Kinect, VR, Cloud bullshit.

7.5/10 from me.

LOL!!!!

I would wait my conference being over before I started mocking the competitors Sony!

This is a great conference for people who already own the console and love MS' franchises. For me they still need to do more. But they have time, I think in 2 years they'll be at a place where they will be enough stuff on the platform for me to get interested, if they continue this pace.

Pros
- Games. Ori and Limbo 2. Yes please.
- Nothing felt too long
- No hiccups

Cons
- 2014 looks very weak imo. Forza, Halo, and SO is nothing crazy.
- everythingwascgi.jpeg
- No QB or Gears teaser
- Weak 3rd party showing. AssCreed and COD was same old shit.
- Unless you lived under a rock there were no megatons. At all. Unless you're a fan of Phantom Dust.
- Kinect is dead (could also be considered a pro)
- No new system features

Should have saved $399 and paywall announcement imo. The leaks really hurt the conference. 5/10. But still enjoyable. Just not good enough to make me buy an X1 this xmas.

Yeah the problem with them showing off multiplats is that they will look and perform better on the competition. Kinda dampens things. Definitely too much CGI especially for a Platinum Game, show off that gameplay. Fable Legends looks cool but it doesn't seem like a Fable game. It was also spoiled by ntkrnl. If that was a controlled leak then I think it was a misstep. It hurt the conference since there were no surprises.

This is what I don't understand about people commending games, games, games. If they're all multiplats that are inferior the competition what am I supposed to be thinking?

solid conference

game focused with some exclusive titles mixed with multiplats

7.5/10 no surprises since ntkrnl "leaked" everything but still a good conference

negatives was CG trailers

I'm not sure what people expected, but I found it to be a reasonably impressive conference. Multiple unannounced exclusives, multiple games shown with game play, nothing but games.

The only part I found weird at all was Alex from Harmonix, who sincerely sounded like he couldn't give a fuck.

Felt horrible for a guy. Like he was absolutely stabbed in the back by MS, and made to go on the stage and act like nothing ever happened.

Phil was fantastic but I don't think that is the conference they were hoping for. XB1 is not going to all of a sudden light up the sales charts from any of that. As a owner of it I'm satisfied in my purchase but if I was picking between consoles the best titles were all 3rd party. It's Sonys to lose from a momentum POV.

Yup.

ntkrnl pretty much took the wind out of MS's surprises.

That was really solid, nothing but a parade of games. Really snappy. No megatons dropped or anything (or any embarrassing/awful/meme worthy moments either), it was good. I don't know about megatons, but I definitely expect Sony's conference to be much worse in terms of pacing, with plenty of groan-worthy moments when they focus on Vita and PS3, I also expect sales charts and shit. :p

+ Sunset Overdrive
+ Assassins Creed
+ The Division
+ Halo MC is great value
+ Inside looked GREAT

+/- Phantom Dust CG Trailer
+/- Scalebound CG Trailer ... and it looked bad.

- Conker murdered
- Project Spark is DOA
- Dance Central is DOA
- Some indies looked like warm shit
- Fable looked grim
- Evolve looked grim
- No Halo gameplay
- No big surprises

This was MS's best conference in a long while. For me, the best showings were Sunset Overdrive, Crackdown 3, and a couple of those indie games. Not as much exclusive stuff as I thought there would be.

Yeah, but most of the unannounced exclusives had been leaked. That would have been ok if there was gameplay, but there wasn't.

I think Harmonix were pretty pissed off when they unbundled Kinect. Maybe that's why he came off that way.

The conference was fine but no really must have titles and Halo collection is coming to 360 too.
The Division demo was impressive but most likely ran in a very powerful computer. Is very hard to impress gamers these days.

A solid 6/10 conference.

The presentation was better than any of Microsoft's previous offerings, and they actually lived up to their word. That said, the lack of real surprises here put a real damper on expectations and there were way too many CG trailers. Sunset Overdrive and Scalebound are the only games I really want, and for the most of the part all the games that were shown were known about, or were multiplats. I'm glad they had the sportsmanship though, friendly competition is good for the industry and it's improving Microsoft's image in my eyes. Xbone is the next-gen console I'm eyeing the most right now.

Still though, Conker in Project Spark was a bunch of bullshit.

Please no more CG trailers developers! This is not a launch year. So there should be no excuses.

If you do not have actual in engine rendering to show, you should not be showing your game yet!

I thought it was a good conference, but I agree with Keighley and Sessler that it was safe and nothing too surprising happened. Still, it was all games, Phil's little speech was nice, great look at most of the big games coming this year (I can't go crazy because they're multiplatform, but still a good amount of demos), Phantom Dust and Scalebound being announced is something even if it is CG. So, yeah, very good, but unspectacular. Maybe a 'B'? They just really lacked that one "lose your mind" moment. At least for me.

That Conker thing was evil though, straight evil.

Sony has a big opening now with Gaikai service (PS Now) and VR.

I think they will focus a lot on those two.

I hope so. An exciting first party exclusive and Morpheus would be enough to hype me more than MS conference but mainly because a lot of what MS showed will be better on my PS4.

They did call dedicated servers what they actually are. That's a marked improvement. The rumour about the exclusive Platinum game turned out to be true too. Ori looked really nice but otherwise a bit too much CGI to impress. I was expecting more megatons.

It also didn't help that all the unannounced games were already spoiled by leaks. The Conker reveal turned out to be a dud.

Solid conference, everyone makes a good point about nothing incredibly standout or the cg trailers but there was variety, a hint of humble with fighting spirit and really just games for the most part when I could watch.

Better than expected overall. Nothing worth me buying an XB1 for but still a solid offering for current and future xbox gamers.

After been told for weeks that MS had a bottomless war chest and could buy any exclusives they wanted I'm very happy with that conference as a ps4 owner. I don't see how a halo remake expands the username noticeably.

I wonder if Phil Spencer made the decision to hold a few things back for future conferences. Particularly Gamescom. Over the last few years, they've typically had a weak presence at conferences following e3. They usually just concede Gamescom and Tokyo Game Show.

As someone who hasn't played a whole lot of Halo (I briefly played 1 and 2 back in the day), that master chief collection has me tempted. Sadly, not much else caught my attention, 1st party or 3rd, so I probably won't be purchasing an Xbox any time soon. Maybe next year.

As for the conference, fairly decent showing. Kudos to Phil and the team for living up to the games, games, games promise. Like I said earlier, he really is a breath of fresh air after Mattrick.
