Splatoon seems to be developing quite the fan art following already....

The creator of that design has made that into a shirt apparently.

Looks pretty good actually, though I don't like big motives on my T-shirts, personally.

I hope Nintendo or someone else makes some little plush/plastic figures.

Also, here's another great one (WIP, but still pretty good)

Hope he finishes it at some point.

And on the sixth day the LORD David Bowie created man and woman in His image. And he saw that it was good. On the seventh day the LORD created videogames so that He might take the bloody day off for once.
Nintendo artists are really good at designing characters that are adorable, yet also kinda badass at the same time.

It's a difficult balancing act but they make it look so easy.

I just realized something: this is a game with male and female playable characters without the latter wearing pink/bows nor having different body shapes :O

Something I like about the Inklings' design is how their heads are vaguely squid-shaped, with the pointed ears looking like the fins.

Here one from the creator of Ika Musume.

Some art in the vein of the late NES/SNES Super Mario intruction booklet in this style (with pictures illustrating the different moves you can do) would be awesome. I know that era is pretty much over with this new "digital instruction booklet" bullshit they have now, but God, I'd love it if they did a real slick art promo in the style above. It also helps that the game pretty much looks that way too.

Nintendo really should take advantage of this perfect cross-promotion opportunity with Ika Musume, for reals.

Absolutely. I really hope they'll have a DLC scenario and/or perhaps and outfit for single-player.

I watched the first episode of the anime back in 2010 when it first came out. The organizer of the anime nights of my college club put it on to watch. It was a rarity because we would usually show legally obtained anime on DVD but because it was unlicensed at the time she allowed it.

I didn't think much of it. It was cute and funny but not something big needed to watch. My main types of anime are crack comedy (Nichijou, Cromartie, School Rumble), mindscrews (Evangelion, Big O, Serial Experiments Lain) and just more mature fare (though I'm a big DBZ and One Piece Fan).

Now with Splatoon I plan to buy the DVD's (the blu-ray is a bit too expensive) of the show. It's too bad the license was dropped but it could still be pick it up by another company.

It's funny how my hype for a video game can translate to Squid Girl hype for an anime.

A number of the Digital Manuals for Nintendo's First-Party games have some fantastic artwork, so who's to say that it will stop with the release of Splatoon?

Doesn't read OPs, especially not his own
I wanted to ask to avatarize it for me, but I held back since I just got this avatar just a week ago D:

Huh, the character designs didn't seem to impress me. The concept indeed does, but design wise it reminds me of the one of those new cool attempts at something to attract kids in a toy store.
