Halo 4 |OT2| TURBO

Guys, I'm here to annouce that HaloGAF Collection Radio is making its triumphant return. :) It's clear that HaloGAF needs a podcast, the users have asked for it and now it is time to deliver. Although it is called HaloGAF Collection radio, you can expect show guests from both the Gaming Side and Off Topicnside of GAF, and other Halo fans from sites like Bungle.net and Waypoint! A true Halo collection! This was just then announcement.... Yhe real fun starts tomorrow...Stay tuned!

I also hope Slide mechanic is real, since if there is one thing Halo mp needs it is another way to cheat yourself out of a fight by a button press.

This is why I'm not a huge fan of thruster being default for all, it's a jarring effect when looking at head movement. The enemy head jerks out of position in all axes e.g. vertically as you sort of duck, horizontally (duh) and depth as well based on a variable vector the player executes their thrust.

I guess I don't understand or agree with thruster being liked when many want no sprint for example. For classic Halo modes I just prefer predictable movements all round and I don't find that with thruster.

HaloGAF radio, Reclaimer Radio and now HaloGAF Collection Radio.

Nobody got time for that.

We're currently presuming there's a year between the beta and retail, right? That's a really long time in game development. I would assume we're getting a second beta closer to Halo 5's release as well.

That's what I was thinking.
And since the "first" beta is dedicated to Arena, maybe the other one could have a larger-scale focus.

All in all, I expect Halo 5 to have a bit more maps than Halo 4 at launch, with them saying it's a much bigger game and all, and also because they're making the beta that early (wich means they already have a handful of maps ready, and still have a year for more). Also, I'm confident the biggest playlist will feature more than 8v8 this time.

Good point. A summer beta showing off/testing a new BTB mode would be sweet. 12v12 or 16v16. :D

Seeing as this leaker was mostly right, this should tell us what the beta has in store:

Looking at what they say, I'd guess plans got changed a bit (wouldn't be the first time with ntkrnl, Quantum Break's release date for exemple).

I'm thinking they split the beta in two parts, the first one being dedicated to arena, and the other featuring what ntkrnl means as "huge maps".

Should've kept Halo |OT20| in the new thread title Warher. Really makes others on GAF see how passionate we are. Plus I'm sure I've seen op_ivy post still and he was also around during the Halo 2 original thread days.

op_ivy is the Archaeopteryx of HaloGAF, though - he's still passable for being hip. He's not really dinoGAF material the way Ghalpal and Ram are.

Time to Abandon this thread, just like I did Halo 4. The Meltdowns I've had while playing this game was enough to have an Impact on how I look at the Halo series. While I think the Wreckage that was the multiplayer will be Adrift in my mind for years to come, my feelings for the overall product was a bit more Complex than I would like. I hope with Halo 5, 343 can Shatter expectations, and we as a community can find Solace that our complaints have been heard.

Goodbye Halo 4, hello Halo 2.

I wonder if 343 will support the 360 version of Halo 4 after the MCC is out.

I know they'd like to cut and run, and the playerbase will likely crater even more once there's a heavy impetus to jump to the XB1, but I don't think we have any real clue. This is the first Microsoft-produced Halo game, so they don't have any of the same issues that they had previously.

So we might actually get Gravity Gauntlets in Halo 6?

The path we're headed in, Unfortunately I can't give you a 100% No.

Don't worry, I'll patent them. Over the last year and a half or so Gravity Gauntlets went from "343 pls add" to "343 pls do not steal."

Gravity Gliding, Promethean Predator Mortar Turrets and Directional Thrust Teching, though? I couldn't say. Randy's channeling some strong voodoo.

Hence HaloGAF Collection was born.

First episode due tomorrow... get excited guys. :)

wait, is it a real thing?

we're not doing the podcast to get hired or whatever, we're doing it out of love for the community. We love HaloGAF, and we love talking about Halo, so now that Tashi works at 343, the Mantle of Responsibility needed to be Reclaimed. We didn't want to straight up use the HaloGAF Radio title, because we wanted to honor the legacy that the old guard left behind, and hopefully, seem less inclusive and purpose-built for HaloGAF ears only. We're not doing the podcast for our gain, we're doing it for yours.

95% chance it's going to be Speedy reading a list of Microsoft Junior VP's names with a rythmic squishing, rubbing noise in the background, and ends in boyish grunts and "Xbox, record that" being moaned out.

Hope I saved everyone the trouble.

But seriously, you guys need to talk to eachother and arrange alternating host/production duties. Wu Report one week, Babby Radio two weeks after that, Saltcast two weeks after that, and back to Wu and so on. Otherwise you guys are going to be walking over each other for the same tidbits of news, and fuck if I'm going to listen to all or any of them if they do that.

But what if we let them just create their own separate podcasts as planned, but then let them duke it out Game Of Thrones style. Everybody will be entertained, people eliminated and hopefully hilarious moments that go down in HaloGAF history as “Remember when that happened? That happened”.

I’m putting money down on Wu claiming the crown and all the others sling monkey poo at each other to gain the little ground that is left.

HaloGAF of Thrones-level storytelling and character deaths would be amazing.

HGS Radio uses bugs.jpg as their patron House animal.

Maybe I'll just start a podcast that just mockingly recaps all the other podcasts.
