As the ps3 digital version was fine, I'm assuming the physical release for ps4 will be (due to full installs) but I'm hoping for significantly faster load times.. Hopefully with all of the ram available they'll only be a couple of seconds.

You mean for MP ? Because SP has no loading after the initialize

This seems entirely disingenuous. "Remastered"? That assumes they are going back and working on their source material to enhance it, when in reality, with how relatively new the game is and with them knowing the PS4 was on its way, this is just more tweaking of the original code that was already better than what was on the PS3. The only reason it's not out and running flawless on a PC is because of the game being a Sony exclusive.

They knew it would sell bucketloads, so they decided to release it on the PS3 as well as the already planned PS4 (original) version. All the blurbs about "I can't believe how smooth it is at 60fps", "I can't go back to sub 60fps" and "I dream of 60fps" are ridiculous. People actually believe that shit? Like ND didn't know the difference between 120fps and sub 60fps until now?

Right...

Ok I got my tinfoil hat on, question for you.

TLOU released in June, ps4 in November. Why didn't they have this as a launch title, as you have suggested that the ps4 was the original version?

They have already talked about how they went back and updated the in game models, and you can see differences in vegetation etc in comparison shots (like the Giraffe stuff they first showed off).

You fail.

So stealth port begging/stupidness. Nice. Like it's been said why is taking 8 months to release? Not even thinking about the fact it's start long before so it's more like 1+ year in development.

What a nice way to port beg and state the obvious. It's an exclusive because Sony owns the studio.

Any news regarding the fps? Did they make the 60fps cutoff or are they still "targeting" it.

Games all-of-a-sudden not being 60fps if there are any dips ever is the worst thing about the new console gen. Just the worst.

But just because you craft bombs often, that doesn't necessarily mean the other team is constantly going to be in your face when you finally have a bomb ready to throw. I have had more than a fair share of long range shootouts on Lakeside and Bill's Town to know that sometimes throwabales are completely useless, or are simply used as deterrents to push back the enemy team and the front line. It's still a very situational perk, but it does come in handy more than any other perk... but I wouldn't consider it unbalanced.

Of course there are parts of matches where you're not using throwables, but they are few and far between. Even on the most open/long range maps there will be many instances where throwables are the big plays. It's just the design of the game (for better or for worse).

And a on a sidenote most people don't realize how far you can throw smokes/bombs/mollies, the distance at which you can toss is surprisingly long.

What happened to ND and all that enthusiasm about a remaster for a PS3 titlle? they never hype their games like that, I mean even when they created Uncharted 2 and Tlou they didn't hype it like this and i would argue that it was far more exciting playing such titles for the first time than playing a remaster.

I find it odd, feels like because first party line up for PS4 is so weak this year so all that's left is hyping up a remaster (even if it's for one of the best games of the last gen).

TLoU was bursting at the seams running on the PS3.
It's currently the most technically advanced and orchestrated singleplayer videogame experience on the planet.

A PS4 version running at 1080p @60hz with improved models, lighting, shadowing, textures and AA will shame the rest of the industry.

They have discovered the glory that is 60fps.

I can imagine a very likely reason.

NDA.

This is probably the first time where they are in active development of a game that probably has little to no NDA looming over their jobs if they so much say anything about it.

Practically none of them are even talking about Uncharted. I imagine the ship is sealed tight.

ND had said they weren't really sure what the reception to TLoU was going to be. They can be very confident that TLoU looking and running considerably better will be well received.

Yea it might be a reason, lol i would KILL for them to tweet about Uncharted as much as they do on TLoU, just shut up with this remastered nonsense and start talking about Uncharted all day long for all i care :)

they never hype their games like that

I'm not going to bother trawling through years of twitter to see whether you're right but you should watch how they introduced Uncharted 2 at E3 2009 as the best technical showcase of "any platform" at its time or how Bruce and Neil wanted to "change the fucking industry" with TLOU.

So yeah, they like to hype.

Un-bloody-likely cobber.

I can't back that up I just wanted to say it. Though it's not on any sites, the Destiny White PS4 bundle is already on JB-Hifi.

Hmm, $50 for Destiny is, relatively speaking, a good deal, but online gaming doesn't really interest me much these days. Hopefully the TLoU bundle pops up at some point.

Yea but non stop tweets like this? Anyway at least in the case of those 2 examples the hype was justified (although Uncharted 2 wasn't technically more impressive than Crysis on PC but i guess they meant consoles and the 360 primarily and they were right, Uncharted 2 blew away anything on consoles when it was presented), but such hype for a Remaster?

Feels like they are making a big deal out of it more than they should... Maybe it is THAT amazing and so much better than PS3's version in a way we never experienced but i doubt that.

This game will sell alot. It might just chart in the top spot again with strong numbers. Sony must be so happy with Naughty Dog. Every game in the past 7 years from them has been a critical and sales hit. Surely there has to be an internal strategy to replicate that ND success formula in other SCEWWS.

I think a lot of people will be very surprised. If you play PC games, it's no big deal, but I imagine a lot if people who get this have no idea how transformative an IQ and performance boost can be.
