EA/Rockefellers indoctrinating youths to alien cults (demo pricing errors on Xbox)

Whoa, wtf the FIFA 14 Demo, which I didn't even know was available, is $4.99 right now on my Xbox One. I can't believe this. Surely this has to be a mistake? I can't imagine they would seriously charge us $5 just to try out a demo.

Going forward, I think I could see companies charging for an "unlimited demo," but offering a demo with limited plays (10) for Free. Good business sense.

I'm shocked you havent bought the demo yet.

I'll chalk this up to pricing error. Otherwise EA has just managed to set a new bar for scummy anti-consumer tactics.

Definitely seems to be a test run for something. Long odds it was pure happenstance they somehow managed to add pricing to the demo section AND that it was a believable amount like $4.99 as opposed to the much more common valuations like $59.99, $14.99/19.99, or the crazy oddball amounts usually associated with pricing errors.

Not even sure what that's suppose to mean, but surely there must be a clever explanation I'm missing.
I might be wrong, mostly due to my absense of next-gen threads and what not, but I believe it was a joke based on your love for the Microsoft ecosystem and all it entails.
Lacked execution and ease of flow, but a joke nevertheless.

or its just a bug. yah people paid 20 for ground zeros which is absolutely a DEMO, so if this turns out to be true, yah gamers can only blame yah self.

The BF4 demo was $60

Well done.

It's most likely a pricing error.

However, because EA is as slimy as it gets, they don't deserve the benefit of the doubt. Let's wait for confirmation of the aforementioned error before we absolve EA of any wrongdoing...

Welp. Console gaming had a good ride. It was fun while it lasted.

I doubt its a pricing error, its likely a test to see if people will buy it.

Unfortunately people will. This is the horse armour event of this generation.

That's gross, but unsurpinsing given well....EA. Let's hope no one bought it, because God help us if charging for demos becomes a thing.

Guys, it's really obvious that Popcap paid EA to charge for demos on Xbox One in order to make the Ouya look better. I mean, nothing else would make any sense.

haha, jokes on the internet, but the internet is a joke? I can get better answers on GAF than I can if I walked up to a random on the streets. I don't see how they blame you for that. Things are going in this direction. They're using the tiny stuff to win us all over. They want that dollar even more now.

I just get mad when I pay $40 for a demo or some sort and then a year goes by and it's like a disc waiting to collect dust. I use to have some Dreamcast demos I got with the magazine that were better representations of what a console could do. Nothing wrong with what we got, but they'd hire some guy to push that extra dollar from willing customers. I don't think Moore realizes that the older we get, the more attuned we are to scams and terrible services.

Gonna hold off judgment for this for a while until it has been commented by EA.

But, the same pricing error for two different EA games, with the same price? That is odd.

Unfortunately it likely will.

Remember when you used to have to buy magazines to get demo disks? We're going back, only this time for £5 you get only 1 demo and no magazine.

Peter Moore alluded to this just last week i believe.

This is no different than Valve charging people for v0.0001 of games on their dumb service.

What are you even talking about? When you pay for early access you get regular udates on the FULL game and also the final game when (or if in some cases...) it finally comes out.

Please don't try to defend this using examples you clearly dont understand.

Some drunk intern is fucking with the prices or something.

UFC was free for me. Fifa 14 is now $4.99, but it was free before.

NBA Live is now "Unavailable".
