Quantum Break's TV segments possibly affected by Xbox Entertainment shutdown

Yeah but Alan Wake the game was really good already. I'd rather see them refine narrative through gameplay than have two separate, disjointed parts.

If they want to release a prequel or side story as a TV show later that's fine. I just don't feel the game will be hurt by not having the TV show with it. I think it'll make it better because now they just need to focus on one thing.

I feel like we've seen more of the live action stuff than we have of the actual game so I wouldn't be surprised if it's mostly done already. Hopefully it won't affect it much if at all.

Everyone realizes that the Halo programming is continuing the course, right? Why would Microsoft scuttle a massive games video portion? This department was focused on creating new TV shows not supporting video games.

You don't need a full TV production division dreaming up ideas for this.

The show was going to be from the perspective of the villain, while the game was following the heroes story. I imagine, considering how far along the game is now, that it's too late to make any meaningful changes to their plan. So we'll be missing out on more backstory and details on the games antagonist.

Seems to me like everything Microsoft does in terms of live-action entertainment tuns to shit, see the Halo movie, Quantum Break, Halo TV series (what the hell is even going on with those?).

I was wondering about this..... It seemed like an interesting concept... but didn't seem required? I mean if they were going to release this game this way I think the episodes should be included on disc as well.

Awesome that makes sense. I thought they were going to tie it into downloading it with a live subscription or something off their TV section. That would push gold subs and treat it as "additional content". Still hope it comes to fruition now. Is/was one of the factors in my Xbox One purchase in the future.

Quantum Break still seems like it's on track.

Halo TV series was just getting started so we weren't going to see anything from that until next year at the earliest. For all we know it's still in the works. The separate mini series is part of the Master Chief Collection coming out this year.

Halo movie: You talking about the one Neil Blomkamp was going to do? That was stalled due to Microsoft playing hardball with the studio system and wanting more control/money than the studio system was willing to give up.

This click-baity thread is literally based on NOTHING but the lack of a prepared response from Microsoft on this issue (at least from what I see in the OP).

And "possibly affected" could mean so much, people are jumping to the conclusion that it's been excised from the game? Plus, "possibly affected" are Shinobi's words and no one else's (again, going from the OP).

Guess what guys, it could possibly be affected by aliens invading, as well.

Why would Microsoft stay silent about this? Either it was affected and they need to change their vision or find a temporary replacement or it wasn't affect and they would say so.

Doesn't this all but confirm it was affected?

I could be wrong but it was presented as (potentially) the TV division producing episodes to tie in (along side) with the game. Then this came out saying they were essentially killing the TV division. At least I think that is why people think QB may be affected.

There are other studios in the Hollywood area, though. Just because Microsoft Studios itself is being phased out, it doesn't mean that anything is necessarily going to be happening to stuff that is already shot/being shot/planned to be shot. The lack of information is not information.

Yeah I completely understand that. I'm just pointing out why there is a thread about this at all. It seems the new vision excludes anything TV TV TV. People are just worried and Microsoft won't comment on it.

i was 100% under the impression these were being done by Remedy completely outside of any involvement with Xbox Entertainment. neither party ever made things sound otherwise

nice to have it confirmed. ntkrnl said this is a big game for Microsoft, so I kinda expected even with the shutdown this wouldn't be effected.

I thought that shinobi had influence enough on neogaf to bring a thread title update.. like.. after almost 24hs. You need to call a skype to mods for those stuff in xbox threads?

Is there a lot of "TV stuff" in the game by the way ? I only played the first chapter and decided the game wasn't for me, but the highlight of those few hours was the "twilight zone" episode.
