perhaps. 1.85m in the us (maybe 2-2.1m for all of north america), about 3m in japan, and another 3m across europe and other regions). 10m would be a stretch unless it's simply a shipment number.

True, but if you go through the npd archives, that month was really the first month the Wii absolutely exploded to phenomenon level sales.

Weird data: If PS4 is at ~270k, it sold as much as 360 in June 2006 and PS2 in June 2007.

expected, actually. the ps4's been doing about 50k a week for the last two months. a big game came out where it was heavily promoted alongside it. the weekly average going up 2k-4k is a good thing, but not out of the norm given the system's recent performance.

I was a bit hesitant sales would improve over the impressive 50k a week performance, my own prediction was 250k, but looks like they managed to beat it.

So are the Nintendo numbers really good or just good for Wii U? It honestly seems low to me, especially in the month where Nintendo releases what has become their biggest IP. Hard to imagine Smash Bros or even Zelda doing more for the console than Mario Kart can. I guess it's all about sustainability. Will be interesting to see how it does the next couple of months.

In May, the Wii U sold 15.25k per week. In June, it sold 28k per week. So its sales nearly doubled. The numbers aren't "really good," since they're still much lower than the competition, but compared to where they were, they're a big improvement.

If anything I would say MS has a stronger holiday lineup than Sony.

And I'd agree with you. Only reason Sony will keep selling better I'd say is momentum, not because they have the best game lineup as all their worthwhile stuff isn't due until next year.

Also, bad pr did have a negative effect on Xbone, I still have people act surprised when I tell them the drm/always online stuff is gone. Some people i know were actually holding off from buying an Xbone for that very reason.

If that site is to be believed, the difference in PS4 and XONE is overexaggerated and the death of WiiU is underexaggerated. PS4 YTD14 > XONE YTD14 >>>> WiiU YTD13+YTD14. Also the 3DS momentum is slowing down, and the titles for this holiday won't do much of a change (just a Pokemon remake and then there's Smash Brothers, which is also available and best played on the home console platform).

Well damn. Glad to see PvZ might get to 1mil with PS and PC releasees coming up. Titanfall is probably 1.2 or 1.3 mil after the bundle which they must be pretty pleased about.

Caught up how? By being a blue ray player? It got crushed in software sales. Sony was coming off one of the biggest most dominate market leaderships in gaming history with the PS2 and they "caught up".

I don't see the two as equal. PS3's blunder was far worse than the Xbox Ones. There is nothing wrong with the X1 at all. It will do perfectly fine.
