I don't have much info about it, but it seems that this is a summer card sent by Nippon Ichi. The characters are new.

you are a bad person... D4 main character was fun :p
SARDINES = one of the best catch phrases ever :p

.

He was actually the worst, uninteresting. And everyone else was better than him, everyone in that story. Its like they had a contest to see how many protagonists they could make before making a side joke character that should appear in 1 maybe 2 chapters of a manga the protagonist of an rpg that can drag on for hours.

while I won't say that he is a great protagonist.... there were a number in the game better as you said... I still found him a heck of a lot more interesting then mao or laharal... adell I am not able to judge well since it was my first disgaea game and I can't treat him fairly until I get around to playing d2 again.

He better than most just on the virtue that he wasn't some bratty kid that had to learn not to be so bratty. Mao was like a manufactured Ninpochi protagonist.

Thats better than the nothing he was.

He was nothing, learned nothing, and became nothing. Nothing happened, he was supposed to be a cool guy, that was never cool , never funny and his hole thing was " hey , don't lie " ... " ok " that was end of his character development. I would rather watch a kid learn how to not be a shit, rather than watch an unfunny one note person make poo teir jokes for hours, before reverting to a dumb catch phrase about fish. Because he is nothing, he is so nothing.

Well, there's my reason to buy a PS4.

Main character looks like a mix between Laharl and Ash from Phantom Brave

Valvatorez is why I never got past chapter 2 and sold my D4 limited edition. That's how bad he is.

Oh, and isn't that a girl?

think the purpose of his character was to more change the people around him rather than change himself, he is the oldest Disgaea protagonist in the series, and probably as old as Zetta.

He was more of a character that changes others rather than a character that changes himself/ Hell, even in the story, other than his one liners, most of the development is given to others.

Plus, he had a pretty good personality, and some of his jokes with Axel was pretty funny at the start of the game. Actually he does a lot better when he wasn't near prinnys

That being said, he probably would have worked better as a side character, but considering that Zetta had the same character arc as Mao almost and he was an adult, it says a lot about Ninpochis stories.

Phantom Brave is an exception of course.

PS4 PLSSSSSSSSS

I really hope they change it up this time around.

The game constantly looks the same.

It plays the same.

They add some little improvements in each iterations, but by and large, they are all pretty much the same.

I can already guess what 95% of this game will look like and what features will be in it.

Well, they did say that they wanted to broaden the audience of the series, so they might change some things up

You can be help others guy and still have character development and have flaws.

Also I like playing characters in rpg's that develop themselves rather than this mary sue uninteresting fix it man.

He would have worked better as a boss you encounter and shortly beat up, yelling about sardines.

Is that possible?, the game has so many systems and stuff... I don't think is possible to make it more friendly without getting rid of the charm.

I actually liked Valvatorez for the very little of D4 that I played. I decided to play it safe and wait until a Vita version of the game dropped though so I did not get very far in the game. I just can't play a game like Disgaea on a TV screen, too many numbers, letters, stats and whatnot for me to read from far.
And if this truly is Disgaea 5... well all I can say is that the characters look cool, but NIS should step out of their comfort zone and come up with different designs for their characters

Disgaea D2 did streamline a lot of stuff, and it still has the charm of the series. I think they can do it
At least I hope they can

The day this game released in English is the day I'll buy a PS4. Granted that no other JRPG released before it.

Also Rozalin > All

Still a hardcore game with a lot of systems, I don't think this series can appeal to more people than already does, my opinion.

Dem pants.

Also, Valvatorez was fine... I like all the games, but I think 4 had the best new ensemble cast next to 1. 2 could take it easily, though.

My cousin is a total dudebro and even he liked Disgaea 1. I bought it when it came out, and he ended up playing my copy before I ever got around to it.

The only other jrpgs he ever got into were Final Fantasy VII and somehow Dragon Force, since he saw me playing it all the time.

Sure, it's still a hardcore game, but the important thing is to make it approachable to newcomers, so that even people who are not interessed in all those mechanics can enjoy it.

I mean, you don't even need half of the mechanics if you're interessed in only the Story mode

Personally, I hope not; Disgaea is one of the few formulas I enjoy.. NIS have been trying to mix it up lately and not doing a great job.
Unlosing Ranger, Fate Paradox, Witch and the Hundred Knight, none of them are on par with what they have with Disgaea, in any regard.

I'm also sad to say I didn't enjoy Disgaea D2 much either, and while D4 was best of the series for me, they've fired the guy directing D4- and not just him either.
From memory they've lost the majority of the talent that went into D1-D4.. I'm not sure who is left now.
I'm really not holding out much hope for the future either way.

It's pretty frustrating because NIS SRPGs were one of the few recurring series I really enjoyed playing, all the rest seem to have literally gone to hell.
