Is this how the disease began?

I'd be in the dick
am i the only one who cant stand seeing subtitles on with this game?

seems like every clip / early stream has subtitles

ugh
Ever since I got some good headphones it's subtitles off for me, unless something is in a different language. Game subtitles never get the pacing right compared to movies. I read fast so I wind up seeing reactions to things that haven't happened yet.

Soooooo I am looking for good headphones that work for PS4, PS3, and 360 that have great quality (both build and audio). Stereo or good surround sound is a must. Integrated mic that works on the PS4 at the least would be good.

Using ATH-M50s on my PC and consoles, but I can't use them on my PS4 while a mic is plugged in. I thought about getting a splitter to fix that, but I hate the default PS4 mic, it hurts my ears. Any suggestions?

I use Turtle Beach PX4s, they are fairly comfortable and the sound is decent, they are plastic though, not sure how long they will last :(

Just get the PS4 Golds man

Obviously they won't work on 360 but fuck it. They're awesome and well worth it.

Get the PS4 Gold headset.

I just hope we get a tlou custom setting.

Really though, I just got my Gold headset last week (Loving it btw) and after messing around with the App, it seems all it does is change EQ settings? Which you can then change yourself and make a custom setting? Is there even a difference between a provided setting and one that you set yourself? For some reason I thought it would be more of a custom setting than just EQ presets.

You might want to consider getting an Astro Mixamp and a clip on mic. The Mixamp is $130 but it's worth it in my opinion. You could then use your M50s (or any other stereo headphones) on every system with simulated surround sound.

Yeah. The Elites got one so hopefully it gets ported over on the 29th. Watch_Dogs' is the latest I've seen and that was up within a day or so.

Yeah the elites setting was awesome although Ellie's sound byte could have been of higher quality but I'm just nit picking.

The watch dogs sound byte is cool as fuck though.

Any downsides here? I have heard of some PS headset having cracking issues. How is the bass? Can I adjust the volume of these from on the headset itself? Do they work on anything other than PS3/4? What about Vita?

Looks like a good option. Clip on mic is a downside though. I want an AIO.

Do you take care of your shit? If the answer is yes then you won't have a problem with "cracking". I can't give an opinion on the bass since that is not a big deal to me or something I hone in on. You can adjust the volume on the headset itself and they work on PS3, but I'm not sure about the Vita.

Cracking complaint seems to come from the Elites. Yes you can adjust the volume from the headset. They work with Vita and PC, and anything (I believe) you can plug a normal audio jack into. Bass is a little weaker than the Elites, but it sounds fine to me. I just got them 2 weeks ago so someone else probably knows more.

Ma man. The golds are 100 bucks and worth every penny. Golds do not have cracking issues. In fact, they are the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn. Bass is solid and paired up with the app on the system itself, you can crank dat ish up all you want. There are buttons on the headset to control the mica volume, the mute button, 2 options for surround sound preferences (1 standard and 1 custom preload) and finally buttons to control voice chat with friends vs gameplay audio.

Oh and the Gold works on everything else, including PC, even wirelessly. It also comes with a 3.5mm jack if you want to use it. It's godlike for $100.

As an owner of the Golds, the Elites, and a pair of A40s and a
XP500 set (I like headphones)- the golds have surpassed all in ease of use and calibration. what it lack in spatial surround-it makes up in raw sound-nice bass and absolute comfort. my favorite headset currently.

edit: best 69 bucks ever (purchased on sale a few weeks ago at best buy)

Also if you are a multi-current gen console owner, the Gold headset works for both game audio and chat audio on Xbox One as well if you plug it in to the controller. Won't work wirelessly, but plugging into the controller is very nearly as good.

But yeah, the Golds are much better than the similarily designed PS3 Stereo headset, which I thought was pretty shit. Way better.
