Gran Turismo 6 |OT| Moon Rover The Castle

It looks like it'll come with it's own mode on the GT Home screen, so maybe we can edit it and this will be the first sampler of the new Course Maker?

This GT6 update has broken Multi-Monitor in the game. Client screens now just freeze with black screen during track loading.

2 VGT cars were a good reason to boot up GT6 again. But instead of testing them after completing the seasonals I got side-tracked. Almost forgot how much fun the core ("driving") of this game can be. Since the VGT cars allow no/minimal tuning I spend almost 2 hours tinkering with these two instead:

Yeah, that does suck about PSN. They should download/install. But GT has a buncha updatestoo that you're behind on.
They should have the latest version on the store.. *shrug*

These updates are so frustrating. 30 minute install times? That's all the time I've got to plan today. And there's nothing in it that seems to be of interest to me.

They do need a better update system, though. With every other game, the system downloads the update automatically, and the game simply plays normally the next time I open it up. With GT6, the game itself has to perform its own internal installation of whatever, which takes WAAAY too long to complete. Updates like that should take maybe a minute at most, not 20-30.

And then when it was done installing the update? Yup... another update ready to download.

When I sit down to play a video game, I want to play it... I don't want to spend half my morning getting it updated. That's why I have the system set to auto-update in the first place, but GT6 is the only game that doesn't play by those rules.

So, i played GT6 a bit this weekend, after not touching it for months.

I did one of the seasonal events, I think it was Nurburgring GP under 600PP, and I choose a Ferrari 458.

Cars were making a lot of mistakes all over the circuit, going straight in the last chicane and crashing in the wall, missing the brake point in the first turn and so on. Is this a known problem?

I thought about that at first, I know that the AI can be tweaked to be very aggressive since GT5, but in this case they were making mistakes even when no one was near them, and crashing even when they were in first place, with several seconds between the first and second place.

It was really weird.
But I guess that could be an explanation.

God this game :( , I need to vent.

Yesterday I tried to play the game to try the new update. For some reason the lobby only shows less than 10 rooms. After refreshing several times found a room my liking, failed to connect, another room more failed to connect. After 5 tries I found a full room with fixed pp and no tuning. Finally I was in heaven. First race on the australian track at night with 16 equals car without the tuning bullshit that ruins the game for us more casual (or less hardcore ) people. So much fun, good racing, beatifull visual, OMG so good.!!!!

Anyway we end the race I was excited finally playing GT at is best and suddenly I was diconnected of the room. RAGEE!!!!!!.

:(.

I love GT but this....

Both GT6 and GT5 have poor online stability. But there are a few things you can do to improve it (in order of priority below):

1. Static IP and DMZ
http://portforward.com/networking/staticip-ps3-playstation-3.htm
(Preferably set an IP outside of the routers DHCP server range)
2. Use Ethernet cable instead of wireless
3. Upgrade router firmware (for more advanced users)

These are factors within your control and they will help, but unfortunately most of the problem is the game itself. It's coming up for five years now and it's still terrible so don't expect it to get any better.

Beyond the comprehensive list above, my group and I also found in GT5 that limiting lobby size to 12-14 and lowering the voice chat quality also helped when we were running long championship races.

Stability was improved a little and when running sub-16 numbers we never saw the odd timing/slow car glitches that were reported at GTP and that we ourselves experienced in full lobbies.

No idea if this stands true in GT6 as the MP remains largely untouched. Talking of which I guess this thread is well beyond organising any GAF racing? Previous requests have garnered so few replies (though I enjoyed racing with the few who did turn out) it seem pointless for me to try again.

No, but look at all that space.

There's four tracks in the game that are built in huge 3D environments with no 2D backdrops. I bet these will be Course Maker themes.

Remember when Sony Russia said we can edit existing tracks?

giphy.gif

That's the Nurburgring's environment.

GT6 currently has four huge open environments with a track, maybe these are possible Course Maker themes? I believe they will be, why else would Polyphony build these tracks this way?

When the other tracks are like tunnels plonked in the middle of a 360 photo of the backdrop, so no possible way to use them in Course Maker.

The first official "Gran Turismo" app is now available on the App Store. This App contains the "Beyond The Apex" booklet, available only with the limited edition of Gran Turismo 6 sold in Japan and Asia, together with a newly added interactive car database.

The app contains not only gameplay information but also detailed descriptions on the mechanisms that bring a vehicle to life and many other car-related information, making it a "must have" for any car enthusiast.

The app will be available on the App Store in selected countries after 0:00AM (midnight) of 30 July 2014 (local time). For more details, please visit the special page from the Related Link below.

So the 4 open environments are Mount Panorama, Goodwood, Nurburgring and Willow Springs?

Isn't Matterhorn also fully modelled?

And please post more pictures!

I knew they started rendering low res landscapes for some of the new tracks instead of using 2d backdrops but didn't think they would be that huge. I didn't even expect Nurburgring to be one of them, or Goodwood.

Interesting Nurburgring is included in this list. I wonder if that's new to GT6 or if GT5's Nurburgring also had this huge 3d landscape? Wax?

LOL, you fucking clowns PD.

I am sad to report that I am done with this game already. Worst game in the series. The awesome physics can't make up for all the rest of the shit. Final straw was trying to find a decent race for a car that wasn't in arcade mode. Why does the AI and car entry list not adapt to what we enter in the race? Simple shit like that is just baffling to me, and I just can't be arsed fighting against the game to try and find entertainment.

not sure about gt5 nur

So the 4 open environments are Mount Panorama, Goodwood, Nurburgring and Willow Springs?

yes.

we can also assume sierra will be another one.

if it is then it seals the deal for me and these will be course maker themes.

i don't think so. it warps out and big chunks of mountain are missing, i also can't get high enough to see over the mountains.

Are they playable? Or are they just... there?

What about the Bugatti Circuit?

just part of the scenery like the kart tracks at fuji and spa.

the bugatti circuit is just a long curved road round the back of the pit complex.

I think you're on the right track
pardon the pun
as GT5's course maker was basically the same with location themes and fixed topography (with the exception of the track sector camber option).

Assuming it ever gets released, the GPS track creator is probably going to disappoint a lot of people as expectations are not being managed. I suspect the app (iOS only of course) will log basic GPS data and upload to the GT6 servers. You'll then use GT6 to download the data and lay it over one of the pre-determined themes and topography.

Had no time this week for any gaming at all and it's bloody annoying having to boot up the PS3 and load GT6 every day just to keep my earnings multiplyer at maximum.

What a dumb-ass idea.

Haha, I'm sitting here doing that before work just for that same reason. I never know if I'll have time or even want to play some GT6, but I like having the multiplier at max.

You need it maxed out to earn any decent coin. I'd love to be able to race with all these cars I paid for when I bought the game instead of having them hidden behind some grind-fest virtual paywall...

I miss the olden days.
