I'm assuming you don't mean the temporal period since the beginning of the generation, but rather within "current gen" platforms. As I would assume, but am too lazy to look up, that there have been better PS3 Musou debuts since 2011.

Maybe it'd be better to include PS3 as well...in the sense that it's still the better platform for Musou games, sales-wise :p

I think that is a little misleading considering many of those titles are multiplat with 'last gen' systems.

Japan is going in. I think they couldn't watch the west having such a lead in this game anymore. Right now, the west is dominating MK8 (most world records are also not japanese).

Most of the major server bugs (mainly the super annyoing slow-downs, probably due to server overload) have been fixed, so I think it's a really good time to join MK8. If I had known that, I would've probably waited 2 month myself, because the slowdown drew me crazy in the beginning.

Eh, not sure how much sense it makes to leave out the PS3 games. Especially those that were PS3/V multiplats.

But yeah, HW did fine.

Huh, the Hyrule Warriors software discrepancy is pretty significant on a percentage basis. Seems they're usually pretty similar nowadays aren't they? I guess it's related to download codes perhaps?

Smash can't come soon enough for 3DS (and obviously Wii U, but that's further out). It really needs a shot in the arm hardware wise.

Monster Hunter is actually higher than I was expecting. Hyrule Warriors is about on par.

Hardware sales across the board are pretty disappointing, though.

I stopped playing MK8 months ago I just could not beat any KartGAF racers
everyone who kept playing must be much better by now

I'll play again next week when the Benz DLCs hit

And here i thought Zelda was a well known Nintendo brand. Their goal is to "ship" a million copies which is possible, depending on how the WiiU and the game perform this holiday season and next months.

On healthy platform maybe. But the Zelda brand has been on a decline in Japan, and Musou rarely pull insane numbers anymore. Add the anemic Wii U on top of it, and you get an okay number of sales.

The Zelda branding should do "wonders" for the game in NA though. Will probably sell better than most musou game there.

Zelda Musou did really well considering the platform. Way better than I expected. It's definitely going to land at about 150-200k LTD. Seems like the Musou brand is still really strong in Japan.

I don't really see anyone contesting your last statement. That still doesn't make that list a particularly sound comparison really. You have rereleases/ports and single SKUs from multiplat releases, and the glaring PS3 omission.

IMO most of of them are to get first copy bonus, to be used for PC version.
As a matter of fact that's why MHF sold rather "decent" on Xbox360 than it should have.

i wouldn't worry about ps4. it's just starting its run and it's doing gangbusters worldwide.

japanese developers are also primarily focused on the world-wide market these days. not just japan anymore.

that being said, there's still a lot of games that are only released in japan only, and nowhere else, so i'm curious to know if said developers/pubs are taking notice of the wiiu doing pretty decently in home territory...

Even then they will be disappointed, since the Vita-version is only compatible to the PS3-version as far as I know.
