If there is a season 2 I don't think I will watch it unless it gets some super acclaim. I think the story that could have been told, was.

Joe is actually the origin story for Bobby Kotick. He starts out with stars in his eyes, then realizes he can destroy everything creative and make mad money.

Heyyyy the whole series is up for free again, on AMC's site! Yay. 23 days to check it out.

I'm almost positive this is AMC giving the show a final shot before canning it. Re-watch it and get your friends to watch it. The numbers have been so poor, but chances are, this is them testing if binge-watching will bring numbers up. Depending on how this goes, as well as the numbers for The Killing's new season on Netflix, we may get Season 2 released on Netflix too.

AMC Networks is launching their 'AMC' brand internationally later this year (I think at this point AMC is only known to people in the US) by rebranding their international MGM Channel as AMC. Halt and Catch Fire, as well as the WeTV (an AMC networks channel) series The Divide are going to be the two premiere shows they launch with, so the reception it gets abroad could also potentially play a part in things.

Also, we never get numbers for Netflix series (the closest thing we get are vague "We are satisfied/disappointed with the performance" type quotes) unfortunately. Not that AMC would necessarily care even if those numbers were released, since they still dropped The Killing even after knowing it did well on Netflix. An extremely dumb decision on their part.

I agree. He's already run the gamut and I can't see where else they can possibly take him. Having Joe off on his own little side story while all the other characters are off doing computer stuff doesn't seem like a good idea to me unless Joe can come out the other side as a totally changed man. And even then, no one is going to let him back into Cardiff and I doubt Cameron will let him join Mutiny. So what else is left for him?

I'd be really curious to know what the writers have planned for him, even if the show doesn't get renewed.

If there's another season, The three main characters will probably all learn different things while they are apart and come together for something they can't do alone I guess. Another season from where we left off is certainly doable, but I obviously have no idea where the people in charge would like to go if they were to work on another season and possibly learn from feedback.

Shrimp for everyone!

It's been renewed for a second season.

“This is a show about invention, experimentation, and the inherent risks in trying to break new ground – themes that really resonate with us as a network and attracted a passionate audience,” said Charlie Collier, AMC president today. “We have a history of demonstrating patience through the early seasons of new shows, betting on talent and building audience over time. We see that opportunity here and look forward to a second season of ‘Halt and Catch Fire’ from creators Chris Cantwell and Chris Rogers, and showrunner Jonathan Lisco.”

WAIT, WHAT.

- Deadline: AMC Renews ‘Halt And Catch Fire’ For A Second Season
The quest for the future of computing continues. AMC is bringing Halt And Catch Fire back for a second season. I'm very happy to see it getting another chance. It's one of my favorite new shows, and I'm hoping they can really improve things next season.

They should get this show on Netflix ASAP.

I'm actually thrilled about this. Yeah, the first season wasn't great but it got better as it went along and it has so much potential. I feel they started fixing the issues with the show as they figured things out and season two is gonna be better, especially where they left things off.

I just got around watching the last episode, and I'm not going to stick around for season 2. There are things to like about the show but Joe is just an awful person and I find nothing compelling about his character. His motivations for any of his actions are lost on me. Every other character I get, Joe is just chaos for no good reason.

Still thinking about checking this show out. Is Joe a Don Draper type of character? I'm reaaally sick of those.

How many Don Draper type characters are there, because I haven't noticed an influx of those characters, but there's a lot of tv shows I don't watch.

Anyway Joe is more like a used car salesman, than a Don Draper type. He just seems real sleazy, and Don whatever you may think of his character does have genuine talent.

I'm not shocked about this but wasn't Low Winter Sun ratings even lower than Halt and Turn?
It was higher in live ratings, but what got that show the axe was how much of a drop it had. It debuted with over 2 million viewsers, but the finale only had less than 700k viewers. And that's with a lead of Breaking Bad, which was getting the highest ratings it ever had.

Not all shows.

I seriously shouted, "What the fuck!" When I saw that post. I didn't expect this to be revived. What the hell can they go from here?

I actually would have liked a second season of that show. I liked Frank's character.

I thought Rubicon didn't get a second season, either.

Still, Frank started to grow on me towards the end. He was just in a shit situation,
and then after we learn that he had issues with his wife, it started to make sense.
I like how he became unhinged.

There was only one good episode of that show and it was the one with his ex wife.

Holy shit.

This is awesome considering the people I heard that it was canned from are reliable.

I'm wondering if this was someone grabbing it from out of the garbage.

This is sweet news I love this show, can't wait to see where it goes next. AMC is probably thinking that they don't want to let go of the awesome high-profile cast and think its worth another go.

Oh man, that's right; GoTG and now Man o'Steel 2 probably were the deciding factors.
