It’s the kind of news that could make Don Juan feel faint.

Appeal: These woman are looking for eligible bachelors (Picture: Facebook)

A Brazilian town that is entirely made up of young, ‘extremely attractive’ women has made an appeal – for single men.

Noiva do Cordeiro, in southeast Brazil, has a 600-strong population that is entirely female, with sons sent away at 18 and the few husbands only allowed in town on weekends.

And while that might sound perfect to some, the young women in the town are growing increasingly frustrated at the absence of men – and have made an appeal for eligible bachelors to step forward.

‘Here, the only men we single girls meet are either married or related to us, everyone is a cousin. I haven’t kissed a man for a long time,’ Nelma Fernandes, 23, told The Mirror.

‘We all dream of falling in love and getting married. But we like living here and don’t want to have to leave the town to find a husband.’

The unusual settlement was founded by Maria Senhorinha de Lima, branded an adulterer and excommunicated after fleeing her forced marriage.

Other women rejected by society joined her in isolation – and Noiva do Cordeiro was born.

But before you book your flights, gents, there is a caveat:

‘Do what we say and live according to our rules,’ says Nelma.

‘There are lots of things that women do better than men. Our town is prettier, more organised, and far more harmonious than if men were in charge.

‘And there’s always time to stop and gossip, try on each other’s clothes and do each other’s hair and nails.’

Form an orderly cue, fellas.

So not worth it
I once spend a year learning to become a teacher, class of 30 women and 6 males.

Never again. I love women, but I've never experienced so much talking behind peoples back's and just random yelling and crying as in that year. We had a silly "culture week" thing where they made us come up with and perform a 5-minute theatre bit at the end of it. The first one and a half day had enough tears to fill an ocean, and the one time I tried to interject to cool things down I was chewed out like no tomorrow and told to not interfere again. These were not happy times.

What a confusing story. They built a community where men are basically sent away and are now frustrated that there are nearly no available men. Well.

Even before I looked in this thread I suspected this would be in Brazil.

Wait what?

*google searches*

She was chased out of town in 1891

Well that clears up my confusion.

So women are sad that there's no men, when all they do is send men away. Just move away yourself.

Also, sounds like the first episode of "Girls Bravo".

I'd really like to see that place and this is not just the thirst speaking but I am genuinely curious what it's like there.

So this is Themascera in real life? Huh. Would be interesting to compare their crime rates, poverty, and education to the rest of the country.

Why would anyone want to live in a unequal society? I done getz it.?:/

Like think about the women. They must feel awful. If I was in a town only with men I would feel awful.

Come again? Must make for a lively queue in the post office.

They do look pretty fertile though...

based on my limited research, it seems the young ladies of the town are getting a bit of small town fever. I guess some of them go to the neighboring town, Belo Vale, and dress up like lady gaga and participate in the local art collective.

Ugh I know what you mean. The drama and gossip and talking behind people's back is unbearable we're like 3 guys and 40 women in my current course.

I chose to take women's studies as my mandatory humanities class in college. It was just like this :lol

Then again now I'm a high school teacher and I have some girls only classes. 40 Japanese 16 year old girls in one class can be pretty fun.

idk about this guise

i worked at a manufacturing company where there were like... 400 men and 60 women workers and the drama and gossiping were real with either gender.

also. yeah, never again for me too. it was too awk with that lopsided gender distribution.
