There isn't one in Disney Infinity 2 either though,
hasn't been one announced based on original Disney characters at all for that matter(yet).

All of the DI2.0 playsets have been revealed, they're only the 3 Marvel this time. Nothing else coming.

There's one more character that hasn't been announced yet.

Also this time they listened to people complaining about "can't play with X character in Y playset" and there are things called Crossover Coins you can collect that let you take different characters into playsets they aren't associated with.

character wise there is at least one original Disney female(based on tweets potentially a "princess") that isn't announced.
supposedly another Marvel character is rumored as well.

Last night I was told all the characters have been revealed already except for the final Marvel character, but I'll ask about the other princess.

That's because it's Marvel this go-round. I mean when they do a straight Core Disney sequel. Also it'd be weird to do a playset with new figures, that would piss people off.

It's Gotta Be KANE er I mean Thanos

Why does the sorcerer Mickey figure look like he wants to punch you in the face? I mean is it necessary every character be loaded with "attitude"?

Is Anna really selling that well? Everytime I glance a DI isle, the Elsas are sold out & there's 4 or 5 Annas. I had gotten the impression no one wanted the "inferior" powerless sister over the one that did have superpowers (& the better song).

If you sell 50 Elsas and 45 Annas, that's still a lot of Annas.

John was asked at the Toy Box summit who his favorite Disney character was and he said it was an unannounced female character.
He specifically says Venom is his favorite Marvel character.

Princess thing is based off him responding to someone asking for more princesses which he mentions all released so far(he counted vanellope) and said "more to come"
So not proof or anything really though.

I don't follow comics (although I've tried once or twice), just watch the movies and play the games - but if you ask me for a Spider-man villain, I'll say Venom straight away. He's better than the vulture or doc oc.

Probably because he feels like he would be the main bad guy, Spider-mans powers but evil.

You know, ignoring galacticus or whatever

Why are strippers at the U.N. bad when they're great at strip clubs???
Bob Iger must be really pleased with the above results; Disney's Interactive Segment was always a loss leader in Disney's quarterly report until Disney Infinity.

I still thought we were in the era where boys are like: "Girls!? Eww, cooties, gross!", and afraid of getting near anything "girly". The thing started by Barbie and macho insecurity. Hell I never picked girl characters in fighting games (yep, I missed on all that Chun-Li and Mai Shiranui goodness because they were females) when I was a kid, LOL.

Long past it as far as I can see with my friends and their kids. Frozen had hella crossover success. It's pretty damn cool.

Depends if those Annas were sold in the combo packs or individuals. That's basically the Wii Play+Wiimote scenario, Wii Play wouldn't have sold nearly as well on it's own & I think Anna had to be bundled with Elsa to sell as well.

Sucks that Anna and Elsa are so nice as figures but can barely be used in the game.

2.0 introduces Jasmine..Tinkerbell..Merida..which all look awesome, but nearly useless since they're Toy Box only.

Oh well..will buy anyway. ;p

How is Venom still popular? I've pretty much followed everything Spider-Man for the last 7 years and I don't get that.

Heh Venom has and most likely will always be my favorite Spiderman character tbh, but I tend to like the big characters in General. Same with Juggernaut in Xmen, Thing,Hulk etc.

I disagree with this, kids play has a lot yo do with imagination and I think the toy box provides that better then any of the playsets. My daughter generally doesn't like the playset levels but adores the toybox because her and I can pretty much do anything we want to.

We had to skip Disney land this year due to financials but we created our own in Disney Infintys toybox and had a blast.

It wouldn't even make sense really because how would a character like Elsa or Aladdin even work in something like the Cars playsets?

Posted in the other thread but we are confirmed to get 2 more Disney Originals and 2 more Marvel characters as well.

Game should launch with 1 extra playset themed to Toy Story that makes every character playable(since all the characters in Infinity are supposed to be the figures)

Imagination is key, but a problem many parents also faced was that there were not "targets" per se. Then coming from Skylanders were you can swap any figure at any time, but " no you can't use Mickey...nope, can't use Woody here" it was a relatively harder concept to grasp.

It is a nice way to play with as a virtual toy box with virtual toys at least. And seems to be a good point instead of throwing a bunch of toys around or create racetracks with random things, to create stuff in the game under the same concept.

There are workarounds for the playsets too. The game has cars that characters can drive so they could technically be used in a Cars playset. Heck one of the first things I did was have Mickey drive in Mike's car and the game recognizes that Lightning is a car so is not like you can have him driving a car. So Aladdin and Elsa can drive any car (Elsa can do it already since she's out there) and have the game programmed for them to stay in the car at all times.

There are Cars toys that can be used underwater and in the Cars 2 game, characters could even shoot missiles and electricity (things that doesn't happen in the movies)...the problem is that they seem to be quite strict on it.

Instead of creating something like a Wonderful World of Disney Playset developed with all that in mind and an anything goes kind of thing. And make a merged world/story ala Kingdom Hearts and Smash Bros. Skylanders had writers of Toy Story involved, so for Disney to do something similar with similar people involved wouldn't be impossible.

Not blame them, just sucks that for the most part the figures have no purpose other than to look nice. At least in Skylanders the action of swapping them is part of the game and enforced too.

Venom is still popular because kids love evil versions of the heroes.

Hence the popularity of turds like Shadow.

Females love to play videogames like males do. I wish the traditional videogame industry had more females involved as it would probably result in more game variety
