The new regular sized 3DS screen does seem big enough in pictures, but there's zero chance I'll pull the trigger on one before trying it myself.

7/10 chances I'll still get the XL.

Nintendo doesn't like doing that. They don't like people saying "the Wii" or "the Wii U". You don't say games on the Wii U, you say games on Wii U. You can say games on the new Wii U lineup because the and new refers to lineup.

As far as styleguide goes btw, it's "amiibo" and the plural for amiibo is "amiibo".

Hate flaw with the charging dock is that you can't even use the console itself while on the dock. I have done this many times with the old system while doing system transfers or doing a few quick tasks after docking it with the red flashing light of doom.

But yes, it seems almost too good to be true. I guess the fact that we will have to wait six or more months for this is punishment enough.

Yeah this is the only drawback for me. They could have worked out a way to use them on both (including side extensions for the XL for example).

But I think I'll go with the new XL anyways.

Yeah, I've been paying only slight attention to these developments and now that I've got the time to sit down and read the details, that is a massive disappointment.

Given the slightly larger screen of the N3DS I may have to fall back from my XL. But no way I'm buying without trying it out first that's for sure.

Oh dear, I forgot we had to deal with NoA for stuff like this. I expect a train wreck for color options, just to be safe. Im sure they will out do themselves. Probably bad colors and no colored buttons.

It'll release with hot pink, black, and blue because girls will only buy a nintendo handheld if it's pink.

Talk about getting the most out of your RnD dollars (in this case, the 3ds' overall design).

And dat name... "New"... :lol If only they did that for WiiU...

I need both in my life. It's such a misfire missing the holiday season in the US, though. I expect we won't see this until March.

Apple did it with the 3rd generation iPad, and then they quickly realized what a shit idea it was. Nintendo is just two years behind on the Apple naming curve. Coming next: 3DS Air.

I seriously think that the name is fine for japan.
if they'll keep it in the West, it will be a mess.
Call it "3DS Plus", maybe...

Am I the only one who hopes this happens? I can't stand those colored buttons. Makes it looks like a leapfrog toy or something.

I get the Super Famicom reference but still. I prefer sleek matching systems to a throwback scheme anyday. The only upside is maybe this is a hint that SNES games are coming to 3DSVC?

Doubtful. It has a C-stick too, but no one is actually expecting GCN games on VC; twould be impossible.

N3DS Feels like a true successor to the DSLite the most perfect iteration of the DS. (Or any ninty handheld)
Idk why they even had to release the monstrosity that was OG 3DS which i hated for every reason i hated the OG DS.

Probably going from XL to N3DS, biggest reason for me going to XL in the first place was the buttons were so superior. And since screen size is a little bigger too its a win win.

Is there a US date yet? Didnt check the OP.
