Unrivalled entertainment with the world’s only tablet with PS4™ Remote Play

Sony has engineered a revolution in gaming technology with the addition of PS4™ Remote Play on the Xperia Z3 series. With PS4 Remote Play, exclusive to Xperia, you can now use your Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact as a remote screen to connect to and control your games on PS4. For those times when the TV is being used, simply connect your tablet to your PS4 via home Wi-Fi and use the DUALSHOCK®4 Wireless Controller with the GCM10 Game Control Mount to continue playing games anywhere at home on your Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.

Additionally the PlayStation®App lets you use your Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact as a second screen to remotely watch the game play of your game friends, communicate with PSN™ friends, purchase PS4 games and download to PS4, or simply to control your PS4.

Whether you’re playing a game or watching a movie, your entertainment is enhanced with Sony’s latest TV and audio technologies. Boasting Sony’s brightest tablet display yet, this compact tablet has a visual brilliance beyond its size. Combined with Sony’s TRILUMINOS™ Display for mobile technology with Live Colour LED, X-Reality™ for mobile and intuitive contrast enhancement, this 8” Full HD display is sharp and vivid even in bright sunlight.

The Verge

The Sony Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact, and Z3 Tablet Compact are joining the PS Vita in being able to stream and play PlayStation 4 games away from the console. Starting in November, the three members of the new Z3 family will allow you to play your PS4 games directly on their screens so long as they are on the same Wi-Fi network as the big games machine. This is a major step on the way to Sony finally making good on its perpetual promise of PlayStation gaming on mobile devices. The Japanese company even says that PS4 Remote Play will be "theoretically" possible over a web connection, but is hedging its bets by recommending that you have both the console and remote device hooked up to the same Wi-Fi network and plugged into a fast internet connection.

Cool, but you are more than likely going to have to pair a controller with your phone. Where's PS Now mobile support?

Where's the picture of the Vita in the rain? After that Xperia tweet saying it's the best handheld gaming device, now this. *sigh*

Poor Vita...

;_;7

Why? This comment doesn't make sense to me.

I think they should go beyond this and put Vita technology in these smart phones like they did with VitaTV/PSTV. A little bit off topic but change Vita from a hardware platform to being hardware agnostic.

I really wanted to get the Xperia Z2, but I think I might wait now for the Z3.

I can't wait for it to never get released in the US. >:[

Trying to vendor lock it to just Xperia phones is lame. Make it a pay app for other phones so Sony at least makes money off it it.

It's android. Surely there'll eventually be a workaround.

Doesn't the Vita have some dedicated chip for streaming? I'm not 100% sure on this, but if that's the case, the Z3 would have that too and it would de facto be exclusive for hardware reasons.

No, it's your standard wifi.

This isn't enough to make me abandon my Vita. I love the Vita, and it's library is very well suited to my tastes. I don't own a PS4 yet (although P5's release date now gives me a timeframe for when I need to purchase one) so remote play is fairly inconsequential to me.

I think it's a good idea, and will make me more likely to consider purchasing the Z3 in the future, but I really don't see it replacing my Vita.
