Sweet leveled up my legendary gloves once. I should easily be able to reach 26 this weekend as I'm at 73 light and assuming that the next level up only gets me 22 all I have to do is find 2 more ascendant shards and I can level it up once more. Hopefully with the regular level up it can give me 3 more light though as I really want to reach level 26 then I have no real need to do anything else as I wait for my friends, so I can play PvP and hope for legendary helmet drop

Don't waste ascendant material unless exotic or raid.
Normal legendaries will be replaced pretty quickly.

Mainly from getting light gear as a reward. I heard upgrading armor gets you more light as well, not sure about that.

lol yeah I figured it out since leveling up rares gets you higher and higher, I assumed doing the same for legendaries would do the same.
You make a good point in the not spending ascendant material until exotics. I might get some this weekend with the weekly, but assuming I have enough my final decision to use them or not comes down to whether I can reach level 26 with the regular material upgrade, and if my friends are all waiting for me to reach 26. If my desired exotic isn't here this weekend either I'll probably keep them until my friends are waiting for me anyways.
Can anybody confirm whether it's 23 motes of light to buy the exotic engram from the weekend vendor? Or is it more?

Vanguards is a faction. Your class trainer and that robot on the East wing of the tower, near the ship and bike girl sell Vanguard rep gear. Vanguard marks are the currency they accept and you get those from PVE content, like bounties, strikes, and public events. It's the perfect faction for those who don't like PVP so much.

So now I have 2 legendary snipers lol. I continue to get weapons from legendary engrams. I've got a pulse rifle, scout rifle, fusion rifle, machine gun, and 2 snipers. All of which are legendary. Why couldn't Bungie make it so we could trade?
You will need them if they are different elements.
Should aim to get a purple or better in every element to tackle high level content.

Funny enough what I want is a Warlock chest, but if I had enough motes last week I wouldn't have bought it. Because sure it's a guarantee exotic chest, but there are like at least 2 chests for each class and I want 1 chest specifically for the Warlock. So that's a maximum 1/8 chance to get what I wanted. And considering the legendary engrams that have given my gear ended up being titan armor, I know what RNGesus thinks of me and I am not risking it lol.
I'll definitely go for if it's a primary weapon exotic engram though. I can go for whatever that drops for me, hopefully an AR or a hand cannon though.

Just gain XP with it equipped. A quick way to level up your items is just turning in bounties. The XP counts towards items too. So, what I usually do, is turn in one bounty, switch to another weapon, turn in another, switch again, etc
You can do neither, complete a bounty then equip the gun or amor u want to upgrade and those items will space magically upgrade.

The next weekly update should be interesting. Game's been out for a week, problems have been documented, review scores are in. Surely they have to say something about it.

Not quite. If you want to level it up with bounties then yes just equip it right before you turn in bounties. If you want to level it up with normal gameplay, it needs to be used.
Didn't the groups that did the raid say they didn't get diddly squat besides shaders? I assume it's not a guarantee you'll get raid gear.

Those stories are just from the final boss kill.
The raid doesn't have the typical final summation like strikes do, so people feel ripped off. Things just pop on the right hand side of your screen the second you hit a major checkpoint.
That's great stuff. There's a Youtube video out there too with a similar theme. It's funny as hell.
