Hyrule Warriors: new playable characters revealed during livestream

I do wonder if any of these DLC packs will include Wind Waker characters. They do clash with this games look, but having some of the characters from that game (like the Ship of Lions, Terra, and Toon Gannndorf) would be cool :).

The fact that the packs are already named and don't mention TWW at all (HW Master Quest, Twilight Princess, Majora's Mask, Ganon Pack) is pretty straightforward in that regard.

I hope Skull Kid, Cremia, Deku Link, or Zora Link are in the Majoras Mask DLC.

Fuck Zora Link, Makau is way better.

Zora Link is just Mikau with all the personality taken out.

Oh well :(, should of read the OP more clearly then. Either way, it would be nice if some parts from Wind Waker are in the DLC (missions names based off the game in Adventure mode, one of the new weapons being from WW, ect). At least Major's Mask is getting a lot of love with this DLC :D.

So did I understand right that basically the retailer exclusive costumes didn't matter since if you want to buy everything you need to buy the packs containing them for the playable characters anyway.

Or is pack content available separately?

Still that DLC pricing. Using 1000 Yen = 10 Euro = 9 GBP...buying all of the DLC costs nearly as much as the game itself (you can say the same for FE, Theathythm etc).

Those are completely unrelated.

Still wondering what the Twilight Princess character could be. I'm glad the villain characters are free, they could have easily made those for $$$$. I'm more interested in the new adventure maps.

Why is the Groose still not loose...

edit: also that DLC seems really expensive for what you're getting

edit2: ok apparently I didn't know what an Adventure Map was. that doesn't seem so bad anymore.

I'm hoping that the weapon is Midna's true form and the character is Yeto.

I probably can't resist the Majora's Mask DLC, but holy fuck is that seemingly pricey. Roughly $30 for such a comparatively small amount of content seems insane to me, but I'm not entirely sure how big an "adventure map" is. Is it just a themed level that you can run through once and get the general idea, or is it large enough to explore and have variables?

Pretty sure the adventure maps are a series of challenge, like the Zelda 1 map. Not just one challenge. Then again, we do need more information about those...

I wonder how that can work. Zelda 1 works cause it's a 2D game. Fully redone MM and TP maps in 2D would be cool.

This is one map. Each square is a stage.

If we are getting new maps we might have a crap ton of new stages coming.

It's gotta be Skull Kid and the Happy Mask Salesman, or I might riot.

Cremia would be fun too, hadn't considered her.

For some reason, the Happy Mask Salesman completely slipped past me. He could have a great moveset, there's a ton of things to pull from. And if they faithfully recreate his animations and expressions as well, he could be a really fun character just to see in motion.

I'm hoping that the weapon is Midna's true form and the character is Yeto.

I'd like to see that weapon as well (perhaps that's what Midna's second weapon slot in the E3 demo was hinting at), but I have to disagree on your choice of yeti.

brand new areas, but what I imagine will happen is maybe a new map with dozens of new challenges on, but using recycled stages from the previous stuff.

edit - apologies for the double post, thought I was in a different (still Hyrule Warriors related) thread

Now I want Mikau who attacks by strumming his guitar!

As much as I'd love to see Mikau, something similar could be implemented in a Masked Link moveset. The bongos, horns and ocarina could make for interesting musou attacks, especially if they all got brought out at once for the MM version of Ballad of the Windfish.

Can see those prices only if it actually is a full "map" for each one. Costumes are hardly worth much extra and characters while I understand can take some time to develop movesets/items for, still aren't a massive undertaking considering most of the moves will just be reused from countless other Musou games.

Depending on what is in each one I can see 1 or 2 potentially being worth it, however based on what we are getting for something like MK8 with it's dlc, the offer needs to be pretty good for it to be worth more than double what an already amazing dlc is adding for another game.

Are any of the summoning gate or
Great Fairy
moves taken from other musou games?

Oh wow. Doesn't seem so bad then.

That one map alone has 128 stages. Depending on the size of these new adventure mode maps we might have very sizable DLC coming adding new challenges, new weapons and challenges for using the new characters.

And if I am correct a new scenario either means new stages to play in free mode or a new story arc. Probably revolving around the Koei Originals.

Now if it turns out that "a new weapon for every character" means a new moveset then it highly justifies the asking price for everything.

But I am gonna be safe and just say new weapon skin. Maybe joke weapons for every character.

Good stuff.

I wonder what that "Ganon Pack" will be. Possibly making
making End Boss Boar Ganon into a playable character somehow? After seeing the likes of Big Zam playable in Shin Gundam Musou, it wouldn't surprise me that much.

Before panicking, remember the base game is 7,389 yen for a retail copy of the game in Japan AND published by Tecmo. It's possible the pricing will not convert one-to-one when it's announced for the West.

From the other thread:
the 4 pack DLC is up for preorder on the PAL eshop. 14.99€ for all four DLCs with Dark Link preorder bonus.
they will be available in October, November, January and February.
Still no Ganondorf costum set DLC available so far

Pre-ordered. A 50€ game having 30€ dlc was kind of insane, but this is pretty awesome. I'm really happy with what appears to be a new DLC model for Nintendo. Great prices and preorders. Keep going Nintendo.

Somewhere around $15 for three DLC characters, two of which are probably from Majora's Mask? I'll be there. The rest is just a bonus.

2 new movesets via weapons, 3 new characters, 8 costumes + new story scenario, stages and modes? That's some damn good support. Basically, this will be like having Hyrule Warriors Xtreme Legends without the year wait and for $10 less (if ya get the pass).

I wouldn't mind seeing Koei do similar for their mainline games. Although, they do already release lots of weapons, costumes and stages as is. I guess the biggest tell will be how big the scenario and new modes are.

The base game now having 18 characters with 25 movesets is far more palpable, too.

Edit: Only 15 Euros, so ~$20? DAMN good pricing then! I was thinking 3000 yen would mean $30.

I haven't played the game, so I'm just assuming this, but I I wonder if the new scenario in the "Master Quest" Pack will be an evil campaign where you end up fighting loads of of the good characters, as seen in this pic, with boss battles against Link etc

Could be Adventure or Free Mode for all we know.

I know, i'm just hypothesizing :)

Well with Master Quest things were changed around in OoT dungeon wise so in the new scenario we probably get background for Cia and co, possibly a alternate ending where
Cia and co likely team up with Hyrule to take out Ganondorf. Wizzro betrays Cia for Ganny as well. Volga may or may not get his good soul back and cia likely fuses with Lana. Could be awesome.

That's one hypothetical that probably won't happen for ya.

15€ is a really good price imo (as it's detailed it's one pack by month too).
Great support and fairer price than usual (Nintendo asking for this?).

Ganon has two new modes...
I wonder if one is going to be the famed grass cutting level

Anyways, the villains being delayed is more of a development reality than any attempt to moneygrub.

Sue me if you want, but I really hope that Linkle will be playable. SHE CAN JUST USE LIANSHI'S MOVESET I DON'T CARE

Fierce Deity Link has never had a better chance to be playable again than Hyrule Warriors, would be disappointed if he's relegated to costume. The Moon being readily available with Link's Hookshot undermines Skull Kid's chances a bit. I'm 50/50 on Tingle.

Then again this is the dev team that put friggin' Agitha in, so Bombers' Horde and Monkey Captured By Dekus confirmed.

That is a crazy good price for more than doubling the games content. I wish everyone else would do DLC like Nintendo does DLC.
