Hmm... just realised that the DLC comes out on the same day as in Japan, but the new characters are a bit late.

The way I see it is that Japan gets the three new FREE characters a few weeks after the games initial launch in their country, and so do we! Perhaps it's to try and stop people trading in the game as soon as they finish the main story, give them freebies a few weeks later, then at the same time try and sink the hooks in and get them to buy DLC.

Not a huge fan of that pricy season pass considering how great a deal they are doing with Mario Kart.

You really can't say one way or the other without at least knowing a bit more about what's actually in them. What "new modes" and "new maps" really mean in terms of content amount.

It may be "pricey", but it's saving when you add all packs together. We only have Japanese pricing at the moment, but:

Three packs at 1200 yen + One at 500 = 4100 Yen

Prepurchase all at 3000 yen. Saving of 1100 Yen, or 26.5%.

It's a good deal.

Too be fair (I can't believe I'm saying that about DLC) we're getting

2 new weapons which are pretty much new characters.
3 new characters
2 new game modes
a bunch of levels
new story scenarios
new adventure mode content
new costumes

I think we should wait till Nintendo announces the price.

Zelda Musou was 7,800 Yen at launch.

Hyrule Warriors is 60$ / 50€ in the West .

I don´t think 3000 Yen will translate to 30$/€

Probably the dictations of Koei Tecmo in one fashion or another.
Yeah, it's unfortunate.

For the price of one of Hyrule Warriors DLC, Mario Kart owners get everything: 16 tracks, 6 characters and 8 vehicles. I was hoping they'd be setting the generous standard for 'Nintendo DLC'.

You're comparing a game which has already sold several million (and where it's much easier to make profit off the DLC) to one which would be lucky to reach 1m WW at this rate. Especially since the MK8 would have been extremely popular even at a higher price.

You also forget Hyrule Warriors is 10€ cheaper (it's actually 25€ cheaper at some retailers, selling it for ~35€ in some EU countries). While pricing is not quite as nice as the MK8, it's still a fairly good deal overall.

It's a full retail (60$) game in North America, where retailers don't drop the MSRP the moment a game is announced.

It isn't a faily good deal - it's Tecmo Koei Koei Tecmo pricing. I would never consider DLC being within ~5-8$ of your European price for the game itself to be a good deal.

It's a giid deal in my eyes and thats before i even know what the full contents are.

Actually, that's a Nintendo pricing, since they're publishing the game in the West. Then again, having the actual NA and EU price would be a good start :)

the 4 pack DLC is up for preorder on the PAL eshop. 14.99€ for all four DLCs with Dark Link preorder bonus.
they will be available in October, November, January and February.
Still no Ganondorf costum set DLC available so far

Any idea of what individual pricing is going to be like. I won't pick up the game for a while as my gaming schedule is packed and would be unlikely to pick up the DLC if it costs a lot.

What would that be in GBP then? I'm guessing around £12.99.

So it will be $20 on the US eShop? It seems a good price for me.

no, there is just the complete pack. the lack of Ganondorf costumes and individual DLC suggest a "leak mistake" to me.
but 14€ for all four seems a good price, considering that from the wording it seems that you'd get at least 4 new characters, new story scenarios and missions

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Yeah, just checked as well. Here, there's just the big pack, with everything included. And all for 14.99. Great price indeed.

On the contrary, Mario Kart 8 allows you to choose between the Zelda pack, the AC pack and the bundle with both of them, which is what I was referring to earlier.

yes good price indeed I think I'll bite. no details yet on characters for each pack (in the decsription it seems you are getting characters from MM and one of the other packs, in addition to dark link and to the three new villains) nor for the story scenarios, that seem included in each pack.
