EDIT2:
Most of this isn't actually a rumor and can be found in Famitsu's report of the event here: http://www.famitsu.com/news/201409/20061908.html

As for the 70 to 80 percent comment, Tabata was talking about the game's graphical quality. He said it will increase further by the time the demo is out.

The amazing thing Tabata promises, he calls "more amazing than a boss" and something that will have a strong impact on and surprise fans.

I wrote up a report here with all the important bits from Famitsu and Dengeki's reports translated. =)

Putting this as a rumour until we get confirmation. Thanks to Kikujiro for the translation.

The guy who works at Famitsu posted on the Italian board the summary of the Famitsu interview. I'm gonna trust him and we can easily confirm in a few days. I'm gonna translate only a part of it:

Credits to Prokanon.

- The game started as an action game like KH, but things changed, it's still action, but at the same time more similar to the main series. They want to give to the player the full control of what's happening during the fight.
- Every party member has a different style, can combo with them, each of them are better against different enemies.
- Duscae will be ready for march.
- Duscae is a region of the world.
- No spoiler in the demo, mostly to show the battle system, big surprise at the end for the fans.
- A lot to explore, can drive manually or letting the CPU drive.
- Is it open world? Yes, FFXV will have a massive world to explore, thanks to the next-gen consoles.
- Demo is 70%-80% done, the final version will be better.
- Prompto is Selphie (sorry, my interpretation), Noctis is not the reserved lonewolf guy he was before.
- Block button, auto-attack and warp button.
- They changed the look of Ignis.
- S-E wants to expand the world on Vita and mobile, meaning it would be great to connect to it outside of the TV.
- The plot is simple, the party must retrieve a stolen crystal from an enemy country.
- No comment on Luna, key character as important as Noctis.
- More info at the Jump Festa 2015.

EDIT: Thanks to Mpl90 for another translation:

Here's a translation of everything he said

- Final Fantasy XV's director has been changed, now the game is in Tabata's hands. Nomura will work only on KHIII
- The trailer's not extended, but the scenes showed confirm it's about the upcoming demo
- Tabata (I suppose): "There are great expectations for this game, and we're not forgetting this saga's roots while creating new elements (see the final part of the trailer)"
- The combat system starts as "action" a-la-KH, lots of things changed since then but the action nature is still there. Not a classic JRPG, for sure
- Episode Ducsae is confirmed for March 2015, included in Type 0 HD
- Ducsae is a region in FFXV's world
- The demo will be about a period not too far from beginning of the game, but no spoilers, don't worry, Tabata reassures. It's all to let the player comprehend the new combat system
- The demo's length is far bigger than normal, with 3-4 hours and possibily of playing exploartion and dungeon phases
- No classic Final Boss in the demo, but the final impression will be incredible for FF fans
- There will be many exploration phases, the player can freely drive the car or let the CPU drive it through Auto Drive, so he can see see secret zones
- Tabata: "The combat system's modifications have been applied correctly, and the development team feels the game much more like a "Final Fantasy" since it became a main title
- ...but this doesn't mean the end of the action nature! The combat system's basis will stay that, but it won't be confusionary. We want the player to control fully what happens
- There will be many new elements, and most I can't talk about. But I can tell you Noctis can dodge enemies by keeping pressing the "Block" button; there will be also Auto-Attack and the Warp button
- Every character/ally will fight with his/her own style; by knowing how Noctis can perform different combos with them the player will be encouraged to search for them on the combat field in order to make a turning point in the battle. In specific moments, only a specific ally can be used against specific enemies, and the command will be visible only near the enemies. This is what makes our work on FFXV magic. We're very satisfied"
- Tabata praises next gen's power, by underlining the beauty of the real-time day/night cycle
- Tabata: "Open world? Yes, FFXV will have a massive world to explore, all thanks to next gen consoles
- The demo is 70-80% complete. March's version will be better.
- We've worked hard on how each character is characterised. Everyone's going to have his own character (laughs...). You'll love them all.
- Prompto is the typical exuberant boy full of vitality, while Noctis the one who "knows", he's not the once-reserved-lonely boy anymore
- Aesthetically, Ignis has been changed too
- SE would like to expand the FFXV's universe on PSVita and mobile phones, i.e. it would be great to connect outside of the TV screen
- The story retrace the Fabula Nova Crystallis' myth from FFXIII and Type 0, in a different world. The plot is simple: the boys have to get back a crystal stolen by an enemy country
- During the interview, some names were mentioned, like King Aegis, Emperor Aldercapt, Luna, the city of Altissia...any news on the matter? Tabata: "No comment".
- Not even Luna? Tabata's answer: "The others are no comment, while Luna is...tabula rasa" (laughs...), then "I'd love telling you more, but right now I can't, still she'll be a key character liek Notcis!"
- New details on plot and characters in future events, Jump Festa 2015 especially.

This TGS has made me happier than any previous one. If we got some KH3 info too, then I might just die.

NooOooO.

Hmm, I remember Kagari saying the game isn't open world. This would be the first time Square called the game open world. That's if this is true.

The glimpses of gameplay I've seen do not instill me with confidence at all. It looks like it's trying to target gamers who would rather be playing DmC rather than Final Fantasy.

Another possible issue is the game's identity. Is it trying to do everything or what? And is this causing it to take an age too? At some point, it needs to be released.

Hmmm. A release date? The introduction of XV's Cid? Lightning's head on a spike?! What could it be.

BOOM if true. The game is longer the action RPG Nomura was promising. Guess we all know why he left the project. Also they seemsed to have changed the character personalities (Noctis) and Luna is new Stella? Personally I really don't like how the battle system sounds, it seems like XIII style over substance all over again...

I don't like the news that they changed Noctis' personality.. It screams that they are pandering to the FF hate bandwagon of "Cloud is emo", if they are messing with the creative vision because of bullshit like this.. This coupled alongside Nomura being "forced out"(speculation obviously) of the project, seems like his concepts are being compromised...

Where does it says that there will be a big surprise?

The only thing i read close to it is:
- Il classico Final Boss non sarà presente nella demo ma l'impatto finale sarà incredibile per i fan di Final Fantasy.
Which could very well mean that, although there won't be a final boss [in the demo] the lasting impact will be incredible for Final Fantasy fans, not necessarily that there will be a final surprise.

I don't think it is it, seems more like XIII or LR.

Lighting Return's Battle System was amazing and worked because it was still constrained to a claustrophobic battle screen and it was a mishmash of realtime and ATB. If FF XV will be anything like LR, I don't see it working as well in this "open world" environment..

Lightning actually created the world of versus :/

I know its hard to swallow but its true.Even if its never mentioned in XV.

"- Prompto is Selphie (sorry, my interpretation), Noctis is not the reserved lonewolf guy he was before."

Reading the original line in Italian, it seems more of a change Noctis has gone through his life, more than a change to the character.
Like "he has seen some shit", or the like.
