Shino's friend certainly has vibes of Noumi from Accel World, except with slightly less of a chance of Shino getting to do as much as Lime Bell. The end of Death Gun wasn't that bad, but the part afterward in the real world quickly ascended to some pretty ridiculous levels of villain-ham. Idolizing Shino for killing a guy is really damn creepy, that's all I'll say on the matter. And still, I feel no real dislike towards it. I've been saving that for something else.

So there's still hope.

They broke space! And that's a big... Oh, wait... that's a big gunmen.

Berserk - 08

Hmm, seems a little far fetched that they'd let someone in simply for saying you're the general.
Griffith is promoted to Count, and most noblemens aren't liking it one bit.

I didn't know Lord Varys from GoT was in this, and he's giving Scar ideas

Tokyo ESP 10-12
Decent finale to this show. On a whole, this show wasn't great. Strange twist in the end and a whole lot leading for some future season. Also, that line about ESPers can only be defeated by other ESPers is flat out lying since she spent the last episode beating up ESPers without her powers

Sei has been tricked and lied to by some 2bit idol and almost lost because of it. At this point, don't let anyone touch your stuff. Not even your mother.

Meanwhile, something has happened to Yuuki's master. Because of it, he'll be leaving and will have to stop using the name Yuuki from now on. Hmmm...

Based on TV listings it seems FSN is going to have an hour long premier like F/Z (fairly expected considering the whole theatre business).

In this show, I learned about how Tomino treats the women he writes.

"Women are so hard to manage!"

Gundam Build Fighters 2
So everyone wants a piece of Sei. Although our Student Council President doesn't want to play for Sei like Sazaki does. He wants to play against him after hearing the rumors of Sazaki's defeat. After Sei clarifies what happens and Reiji's magical appearance at the school, it's only natural we'd get a fight on our hands. The short of it all is that Reiji lost but is now interested in Gunpla Battle.

So that's Ramba Ral from the original Mobile Suit Gundam. He was an enemy soldier the hero didn't want to fight but wound up having to. He's a bit of a fan favorite and legend because he's the first real threat the hero faces in a long time in the show.

Ramba Ral was 35 in Mobile Suit Gundam, is 35 in Build Fighters, and, coincidentally, the entire Gundam franchise was 35 when this season aired.

Short version: Ral is a famous Gundam character, but for the most part he's just that stud who has a crush on Sei's hawt momma.

GGO = Serious business to literally kill for.

Gotta give Hanae Natsuki props for pulling off a creepy obessesd psycho stalker yandere.

Unfortunately his idolization is rather common in real life where murderers do get fan letters.

Sword Art Online II 13

I actually knew beforehand who was behind it but ugh.
His reasons are just so stock villain awful I couldn't take the scene as serious as it was supposed to have been taken. I was really disappointed when Kirito came to the rescue as well. I was hoping Sinon would just handle his ass herself.

This is going to sound awful but SAO is probably the only show that made me laugh at an (spoiler for irl desu gan actions at end of episode)
attempted rape
. Everything is so dumb.

Am I the only one who wanted a burrito after this episode?

Also:
Homeboy put all that kindness into this girl. You can imagine his surprise when sex didn't come out. It's not really that surprising that he got rough with her like a vending machine that swallowed his money.

Rather than being concerned about him being potential enemy spy, this is what the commander in charge talks about. Amazing.

Gundam Wing - 03
This was a poorly explained episode. Heero's in hospital after the incidents after the previous ep and yet being on the scene of firing missiles into an enemy mobile suit in a military base isn't enough for him to be more heavily guarded.
There's some event with the Earth military which draws out a Gundam but it's not really explained what it is either.
Finally, 2 other Gundams confront each other and have a fight because apparently they've all been sent to Earth with no communication between all of them.

Oh and Relena is still really annoying.

Invaders 12 + Final Thoughts

Actually one of my top series from this season. Though it began like an equally chaotic, less macabre Is This a Zombie?, it took on its own identity quickly enough once it was able to slow down and give all the girls their time in the spotlight. So many stock anime character types in one place, and it lives or dies on the strength of its character interaction. With a cast of largely newbie VAs, I'd say it accomplished just what it set out to do, and maybe a little more. Yurika is one of the secret greatest girls of this season. She's funny because the universe loves punishing her, but she's got a kind heart and, in more than one arc, is the true hero. Plus anything that includes magical girl elements and tokusatsu references is bound to be fairly high on a list of my personal favorites. I would love to have a second season of this. There's much more in all the girls' stories to explore. Why did Sanae die? The legend of the Blue Knight? Can Yurika become a true magical girl? And is the underground empire really done for? Not to mention that cliffhanger with Kotaro.

It gets the me seal of approval, for however much that's worth.

It okay to dislike Relena, nobody likes her.

Yeah, Yurika's mumbling VA was one of the highlights of this series, just wish it didn't end with a tease for a second season that may never come.

Also, this quote:

Rentarou said:
I think I ran into Sanae first. She's like my little sister now. I've gotten used to her clinging to me, and going into my body.

Sounds so lewd taken out of context.

I KNEW IT! I FUCKING KNEW IT!
That damn opening with those spoilers
. Otherwise, nice fights. I'll be back later, watching some things here, sorry for the short review.

I'm 4 minutes into the latest SAO2 and I had to stop to breath. Because the scene where Asuna puts the phone under Kirito's hand so the warmth of their creepy digital daughter could reach him was too much. This show. This show will be the end of me by laughter.

TERRA FORMARS - 01

I get the feeling this is going to be a hard watch. I don't know if its because I was tired or if it was because my mind was preoccupied with other things, but this first episode could not sustain my interest. Unless they can surprise me with something like making the second in command bang our protagonist, everything else down to the laughable design of the nemesis feels boring.

You're not the final word on whether digital things can feel or give love! I have a burn mark and a shorted motherboard from 7 years ago that say otherwise.

"If you want to do something evil, put it inside something boring." - John Oliver

My tolerance for anime is pretty high. There's plenty of things the fandom reacts to that I don't mind, and some I even enjoy. So for me to actually dislike an anime, it has to really get under my skin. This is the first time where, if this show gets a second season, I'm fighting against my completionist tendencies because I'd rather not watch it.

All the elements of it are things I thought I wouldn't mind. A brother and sister duo, NGNL just employed that, and did it better. A magical school where it's more like technology. Nanoha's done that, and still been enjoyable to watch. Even the world of complex explanations shouldn't be a problem. The Fate/ universe employs it strictly when it needs to, and Horizon is even thicker but actually made it fun.

But this series made magic so damn boring. I don't care how well constructed your world is if I don't care about the people in it, and the side characters barely got to do anything until the final arc - and all these arcs were too long. Too long, and if the magic stuff was shown instead of told - or at least told as much as necessary - it could be much more tolerable. Just shove all of it off into a guidebook and focus on the freaking characters.

I've been told that the novel does delve into Tatsuya's inner mind, but the anime didn't do a great job at selling me on the franchise. Even from what he projected on his exterior, I'm not sure I'd want to know that mind. The world isn't perfect because it doesn't recognize him. This series was so sleep-inducing I didn't even notice the sketchy politics and military-industrial complex because it was buried beneath layers of boring exposition. How do you make a tournament arc into something so agonizingly dull? I mean, my god. All the hyped up moments during that arc were so underwhelming. Angry Tatsuya is barely distinct from regular Tatsuya, and his "battle" looked more like he was flailing around with his light gun shooting at things that weren't there.

And by the end, in costume and in deed, can he even be considered an anti-hero? That may be the point, but he's quickly reaching the point where he and Akatsuki from Hagure are both detestable to me for similar reasons, even if their emotional expression is vastly different. Miyuki could be an okay character if they gave her time away from Tatsuya, and while I love bath scenes as much as the next guy, a bath scene should not be the only time I feel like I'm understanding the Miyuki that exists beneath all the layers of blind worship.

The show looked pretty and got the Aniplex all-star treatment, but my god. Index was better than this. NGNL was better than this. Oreimo had more to say that I'm willing to listen to. The far-conservative politics is just another layer of bad on top of something that failed to hook me on even a basic level. I kept wondering during the first arc when the exposition was going to end and the show was going to get better. It never did. This is a passion I usually reserve for Megaforce, which I consider my baseline for bad, and this got close to that even though the people behind it care more than T-Zach. They just have the priorities for a gripping story so wrong.

My least favorite show of the past two seasons. If you make someone overpowered, give me a reason to care about them. Magic shouldn't feel like I'm reading from a textbook. That's something I pursue on my own time, the story should live through its characters, and these people barely feel human. Not in a blank slate way, but in their motivations. The whole series feels so sterile.

It's extremely rare for me to dislike any sort of anime, but Mahouka may have just shown where my limits lie.

SAO2: Episode 13

The episode that teaches us that the rules of Hollywood, most recently seen in Disney's Frozen, applies to Japan as well where
there can't be more than one somewhat decent guy which the lead girl is interested in, so at the end you have to show that the one that isn't the male lead has to be a yandere psychopath who wants to rape her

B-e-autiful. Good job Japan. Lucky for us Kirito was there to save the day and to plant his theoretical seed into the new harem member. If only polygamy was a thing amirite people?

Cannot wait for the next episode so what's her face falls even more deeply in love with Kirito. Because remember, there are no other decent guys in this world.

Sword Art Online II 13

Wow Dess Gun was doing an amazing job at hiding his identity in GGO, no wonder Kirito-kun couldn't find out who he was from SAO.

But besides that
wow this show has now REALLY fallen back into proper form with that scene with Sinon's friend trying to rape her and of course being Dess Gun's subordinate because Star Wars Prequel logic were everyone knows each other. There wasn't even anything like tear licking to make it tolerable, it was just bad. And of course Kirito just comes and saves her because he can't have any haremites being taken by anyone other then himself, that'd be stupid.
I don't really know what I expected.

At least that Grenade part was pretty good.

Berserk - 10

Damn Guts,
killing a kid.
In no merciful way either, pierced to the wall. Then a 'nightmare' drawing parallels to him and his mentor with the recent event
Griffith speaks about friendship to the princess, without(?) knowing Guts is hearing and he looks surprised.

Onii-sama 26 and Series Thoughts

I have no words. This series. Was masterful. Everything I love about Gary Stus, only in an awesome story where nobody can stop him. Tatsuya has now taken the title of Jesus in anime from that duck sounding gundam guy, because he can literally
revive people
easily. What a beast. Also he
saved the whole world and country by himself in a single move
lol. Oh Onii-sama. If only the sun could be as incandescent as you. The show had its lows of course, mainly every episode they thought we as the audience cared about any of those cardboard cutout cast of characters. No. Nobody gives a fuck about them. Our thirst is never quenched. We just want Onii-sama 24/7.

Do I hope for a new season? You bet jurassic I do. This was hands-down the most entertaining power fantasy Gary Stu story in anime. Kirito has the bigger harem, but Onii-sama has the fucking world under his finger tips. Thank you Jesus.

Mahouka Koukou No Rettousei gets 5/10 Woofs if seen as a piece of work by itself and not ironically/out of enjoymeny for Gary Stus.

But it gets 11/10 Woofs if you enjoy the above.

Here's to hoping for another season.

Well that makes sense when they explained why Onii-sama doesn't revive everyone. Also please let that tease lead to a Season 2. It's going to get interesting with the
Aunt now involve.

Quick question.
Onii-sama's aunt doesn't like him right? I don't get why she was so pleasant towards Miyuki about her brother. I wonder if she is secretly scared of him also.

Wow I thought the last Mahouka episode was the last one.

I don't even feel like watching this one. I had come to terms with me finishing that entire series forever and I'm just gonna look this up on a wiki or something.
If I remember

Barakamon 12 + Final Thoughts

Pretty good, and I liked how it explored some thoughts on art. Not one of my personal favorites, but I will admit that it was very well made and I liked watching it. Especially after the other show I just finished.

holy shit the final of Barakamon is out......I'm so conflicted. I want to watch it but then I'll get the realisation that there will be no Barakamon next week ;___;

I'll miss Nozaki and Barakamon dearly.

We're kinda unsure about that atm.

Maya (the aunt and head of the family) has been treating him nicely in the past few books, but that just might be act.

We do know that as long as they have Miyuki, Tats won't dare touch them.

Which is good news, since he could kill Maya if he wanted to.

Well, I don't want to try too hard! Don't want to ruin the surprise!

It's more exciting for my assumptions to be subverted rather than confirmed, after all.

Honestly, I really liked the twist so don't even worry about it. Steins;Gate is one of my favorite anime. You're definitely in for a good ride.

Shounen Hollywood - 13 END

I thought that today's episode would just be the concert, but I guess they decided to make another set up episode, and that's fine as it seems to fulfill a purpose other than kill time. The problem is most of what's set up could have been SHOWN in the concert.

I am not too down on the episode because it looked pretty damn good on the other hand.

Yeah, the series goes out with somewhat of a whimper, but it manages to be one of the best idol shows ever, and my personal show of the season.
