So I've recently seen Kill la Kill, Gurren Lagann, and Attack on Titan Season 1. I've also seen Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, and Trigun in the past. What are the top 3 anime on Netflix that aren't in the above list?

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works 01

After putting it off I've finally found some time to watch this and god damn if it isn't beautiful to watch. I'm not that familiar with Ufotable (I mainly know them through the work they did with God Eater and the Tales series) but watching the fight between Lancer and Archer was probably to most well choreographed and animated action sequence I've seen in a long time. They are definitely on my "watch anything they work on even if it looks bad" list now. The story was kinda confusing because I thought at first I missed some details from the previous show that aired but I guess that they forgoed a bunch of exposition in favor of moving the pace along. So far this is my number one show this season, and I hope it stays that way.

Just a quick question: Should I watch the Fate/Stay Night anime that aired a while back to help understand the story better or is it alright if I just watch this?

Just this is fine.

So what's good out of the new crop of shows? I'm already watching the new seasons of Log Horizon, Chaika, and GBF. I watched the first episode of Terraformars, and despite reading pretty far into the manga, I'm convinced that it's pretty much the worst thing in history. I'm probably going to watch Parasyte in a little bit. Anything else worth checking out?

Ridiculous.... though I am not sure if it's in a good or bad way yet.

Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso
it was doing well until the end with the misunderstanding. Part of that is because it was so drawn out in the anime that the whole timing felt less of a misunderstanding and more of a he waited for that shot even though we know he didn't. Beyond that it's just such a cliche way to have two characters meet on bad terms. I will for sure be checking out the next episode, I am just hoping there aren't to many other forced for the sake of plots scenes in the series.

psycho pass 23
aside from the second girl inspector it was a decent first episode... but I am really not sure how the girl who was introduced at the end of the first season, who saw how akane worked when she worked a case at her school in the first season... and who had worked with akane for a year and a half is surprised by her actions, and has a enforcers are just shields personality when she should have been trained by akane.

parasyate and bahamut are in general considered the best shows through the first episode of the brand new series. In general there isn't anything I would say was good so far, just plenty of shows with decent starts.

The best thing about G-Reco is that no matter how insane and bad and Tomino and dumb it gets it will never be the worst Mecha anime that airs this season because fucking Cross Ange secured that role in a single episode.

G-Reco 3

We're back to Tomino's Unicorn era side-switching and I'm trying to remember when, prior to Quess in CCA, this was ever done. I guess you could say Judau "switched sides" when he snuck aboard Axis the first time to make out with Haman in the hallways of her spaceship, but that didn't really last any time at all. Other people switched sides during ZZ and Z, but as far as I know Quess is the first time a "protagonist" really did it in the bounce-between-armies kind of way Unicorn was so full of.

Then again, maybe Bellri and company won't be hanging with these people for long and I'm reading too much into this.

Yes, Parasyte definitely. Try out Shingeki no Bahamut Genesis and Shirabako too. I'm also enjoying Reconguista in G but I dunno if I would recommend it to anyone who wasn't interested already.

Kokkuri-san too

the only worthwhile thing about the source material is the gobsmacking art so it's good to see it translate nicely in anime format. this is gonna live or die based in the musical set pieces and the piano bit fills me with confidence they'll do a good enough job with it.

probably the best looking show of the season thus far

ah this reminds me. It really seems like if it had been a bit darker in color until the moment that his world brightened when he met the girl would have made the scene have more impact...

also why does he talk about how his eyes don't sparkle because he has brown eyes when he actually has blue eyes?

Fate/stay night Unlimited Blade Works 1

Great first episode. Rin isn't my preferred female character, but at least she was more enjoyable to watch here than in the old FSN anime, especially during her blushing moments, which made her appear much cuter than usual.
Best part of the episode though was when Archer entered the picture, his fight with Lancer and, last but not least, the moment when Saber appeared (Saber is the best!).
So hyped to see the next episode.... scratch that, so hyped for the whole show!

It happened in Zeta, too. Even if you don't count Kamille and Fa due to them being civilians, Emma and Bright switched over from Titans/Federation to the AEUG.

Trinity Seven - 01

It's been 1 year since i've bought trinity seven manga vol 1 , based on the cover , never openned it and went as far as buying the 4 volumes after it and i still didn't have time to start reading that serie.

Then comes the anime and i think it's a good moment to start reading those.

Yeah i kinda liked the first episode..
Look like typical harem anime , with magic and possibly good fight .
heck the first episode was better than the whole magical warfare season so it's a win in my book.

too bad kadokawa is involved... it's going to be 10 eps , right ?

Forgot to mention but I thought it was funny how Souji goes from the tallest member of the Twintail team to the shortest once they're all transformed.

Probably the first transformation I've seen where the main protagonist gets shorter instead of taller which is the norm (when there's a height change at all).

Seems like this season's actually off to a pretty good start. I'll wait a couple of weeks to check out these shows though.

Parasyte 1

Okay, that was really entertaining. I've had no prior experience with the series, but I've seen the manga on the shelf at the bookstore. Is it worth checking out in manga form?

Right, in that instance I'm not counting Emma, Bright, or Reccoa because they're not exactly the main protagonist. Quess gets more of that consideration because in a horrible, awful sense the film follows her story almost as much as it does Amuro and Char.

One Week Friends 7:
Man, there are some times where I'd like to punch Hase and straighten him out. He's getting a little too possessive of Fujimiya at times. But then we get scenes showing him earnestly caring about her, too, so I guess he's at least trying to push those thoughts to the side. Shogo is the real hero here, doing a good job of trying to contain Hase's worst sides and encouraging his best sides. He's a saint for dealing with that constantly.

It's also nice to see Fujimiya making more friends, and being able to do so without Hase. She's really bloomed into a new person, and she's showing an entirely new side to her character.

Right, in that instance I'm not counting Emma, Bright, or Reccoa because they're not exactly the main protagonist. Quess gets more of that consideration because in a horrible, awful sense the film follows her story almost as much as it does Amuro and Char.

I see your point there, although right now this feels like it could be more of a Zeta thing. Bellri and Noredo have been kind of on the outside looking in on a lot of things so far. But I'm not sure where it's going. They could wind up deciding to throw in with Aida and her faction, or they might wind up returning to the Capital Army. Or they could go somewhere else entirely.

G-Reco 03

This was a really hilarious episode, especially when we got to the mobile suit action and it kept doing those 80s as fuck close ups along with the speed lines. Total cheese.

Psycho Pass 2 - 1

I surprisingly liked this episode. I actually enjoyed a good chunk of the first serious but it obviously went to shit the moment Makishima escaped. Whatever. Fuck it all.

Akane is a pretty cool character now. At her core she's still the same person except she now has a spine. I don't know why but it feels like she's similar to Inaho from A.Z and maybe that's because every one NOT fucking Akane is an incompetent shit-for-brains. Also, as everyone noted, the new inspector sucks. Fuck you.

It's pretty good, but the anime itself seems pretty faithful even if it does shuffle around the story a bit.
