My point is that a games console most important quality is its ability to play games. OS updates are nice, but don't necessarily improve the ability to play games. In fact, play share, seems to be one of the first OS updates by either company that directly impacts gameplay. Should Sony get extra sales for that? If the answer is no, then you're saying that the OS updates only matter when they address things that aren't necessarily gaming focused

Both consoles are great. Why all the fuss? I trade off between them. Played tons of TLOU remaster on the PS4 and an playing tons of Destiny on the XB1 now. I love the new October updates btw. Much better and snappier.

To me it seems like Microsoft is actually working on improving their console while Sony is just sitting around. I never said that OS is why people buy consoles, but the way Microsoft is actually working on providing a better experience to the people that buy the console rather than just giving them something barebones is more pro consumer. Also, how the hell is PS4 more capable to play games? Because it's a bit more powerful? In that case fuck the PS4 and Xbox. Microsoft should shut down the Xbox division and Sony should go out of business. Lets all move to PC gaming!
Microsoft has done monthly updates and preview programs where they have taken user input and made changes. What have we gotten since the PS4 launch?

And yet sony are working on psnow, share play, Morpheus and there iptv venture, those seem like large undertakings not sitting around.
That's just more stuff to sell to people that own a PS4 rather than improving the core experience.
I thought that a large part of buying consoles was because of convenience not solely power. You can definitely have both in a console. As of now PS4 may have the power, but Xbox One goes way beyond it in convenience.
