Edit: some info!

Players must prevent the world from crystallization by the cursed song of Hilda (voiced by Yukari Tamura, top left of scan), the witch of destruction, and fight together with four witches and the knights.

Here’s the cast:

Alto (voiced by Atsushi Abe, bottom left of scan) is the hero. He is a 17-year-old knight who’s lost his memory.
Lisette (voiced by Yoshino Nanjo, middle of scan) is the witch of water and Alto’s childhood friend.
Popo (voiced by Maaya Uchida, right of scan) is the feared witch of the wind. She lives in a cabin on the outskirts of town.

Each witch has her own song. By “tuning” the heart of a witch, you can obtain song magic that only witches can use. Tuning scenes are depicted as anime.

Maps got high and low variations, characters can move around.

Character design: Ideolo and Shakodo Shinjin.
Producer: Hideyuki Mizutani
Director: Dai Oba.
Music: Procyon Studio, Yasunori Mitsuda, and Shunsuke Tsuchiya.

There's nothing else mentionned, except that it's a Simulation/Strategy-RPG. Guess we're gonna have to wait for leaks/full article before we learn anything more.

Some character names: Alt (Aruto, the guy on the left), Hilda (scantily clad sorceress on the left); Risetto/Lisette (popstart-looking girl in the middle); Popo (blonde twintail girl on the right).

Yup, it's the game that was teased a while ago.

Good thing I checked, I almost hit post. :p

Like I said in the MC thread; CALLED IT! XD Doubters I have crow to serve! XD

Yes, I feel particularly good, OKAY? Can I have my moment? XD

When I posted the trademark folks said NOPE, they blew it with Toshin Toshi and SoniPro, not happening, it's Vita for sure!

Yes, I also believed a 3DS game was likely. A S-RPG should be interesting, since the only IE's game I liked were strategy-RPGs.

And duckroll's curse striked again!

I highly doubt Imageepoch will publish another 3DS game again. They might make one if someone else wants to pay for it, but I think they're going to try their luck on the Vita instead.

:p

Those character designs are horribly over-designed. Guess I should expect that, given the developer, but would it kill them to dial back some of the overly fancy/absurd stuff? :\

Slightly interested due to the fact that it's a strategy RPG, but I'm keeping my expectations in check.

Yeah I'm a bit irked at the chibi-look yet again. I mean they did some beautiful stuff on PSP with Sol Trigger which wasn't chibi, so why do it on 3DS?

Sure is colorful as all hell though, that is pretty!

A Dolan pic saying "Everything was Chibi" really does describe 3DS in Japan. I mean this, Forbiddiin Magna, The Legend of Legacy, Bravely Default. EVERYTHING on it is Chibi!

Edit: Funny that Luminous Arc Infinity on Vita as shown right below me is Chibi as well. How about that.

I am with u there lol.

Indeed Duckroll is in a big roll there.

Wonder what other great things can Duckroll do again there.^_^

Gundam Age sure is the best show now.

I know not to expect it from this developer, but I'm soooooooooo ready for some JRPGs that have a different style of character. Companies should make what they want, but the lack of variety is tiresome.

I wondered whether this was going to be for 3DS or Vita.

Interested to see the sales on this one. FuRyu & Imageepoch seem like they're in a weird place to me where they have no idea what console their fanbase is actually on (if they do even actually have a dedicated one). Compared to the rigidly-PlayStation Compile Heart; NIS and the like.

Or that they're just gambling on hitting the mainstream jackpot with their games, which doesn't seem to be happening so far.

Sammy brought up a point in the thread linked in the OP; is this the LONG awaited SRPG on 3DS they promised that was supposed to be out in I think 2012?

Kind of want. Those chibis look cute, and "Simulation/Strategy-RPG" part intrigues me a lot. Maybe I should get a New 3DS, after all...

I keep seeing the complain about the character design here, may I ask what is the character u guys dislike here?

I guess the G String Magician girl? But the other 3 chara looks proper and nice though?

If you look at the sales of CH games on PS3 and PSV, you can see that the top-selling have barely passed the 50k mark. Most of them are in the range 20-30k units, which are sales that are totally doable on 3DS, as the last imageepoch RPG can testify.

My point was more about consistency, rather than concrete numbers. I feel like Compile Heart's games consistently sell to the same fanbase (which is enough to make them a profit) on Vita/PS3, to the point where Monpiece/Moero/All the Neptunias shift the same 30-40k (Sorcery Saga being the only real outlier), whereas FuRyu/Imageepoch flit all over the place between Nintendo & Sony consoles and never really build up a core fanbase (or any long-term franchises).

So they can certainly have equal successes as Compile Heart, and possibly even bigger ones if they get a publisher behind them, but on their own their sales are up and down (SoniPro & Exstetra being examples of the down)

I think people got fed up with SoniPro's delays honestly.

Looks like some info is out... can anyone translate?

If I'm not mistaken Google says that the director also directed 7th Dragon 2020-II.

Mitsuda also seems to be involved with the music as well as Procyon Studio and both were also involved with Luminous Arc, at least the original looking at MobyGames.

Verifications would of course be hugely appreciated. :)

like last time, here's a very crude translation.
take it with a grain of salt

(I'm not sure what a "quarter view simulation rpg is supposed to be... but anyway)

fight alongside four magical girls (and/or the chivalric order? - whatever that is) to prevent the world from getting crystallized by a cursed song from the witch of destruction called hilda.

watch lively and intense battles unfold in 3d, thanks to highly strategic battlegrounds, encompassing different layers (higher layers, lower layers).

Main protagonist: Alto, who is 17 and lost his memories...
(other characters) the water witch Riset, who is altos childhood friend
the wind witch Popo, who is feared and therefor lives in the outskirts of town in a small cabin.

every witch is able to use their own song.
when the witches heart is in synch with a tune, she is able to obtain it through magic alone (not really sure about this sentence...)
there will be anime cut scenes introducing different tunes.

I'm not translating the cast/producers etc as there are way to many variants for me to know for sure.

"quarter view" = isometric, so like Final Fantasy Tactics et al.

fight alongside four magical girls (and/or the chivalric order? - whatever that is)

kishidan is commonly used for just "knights" in fantasy literature. The magical girls are the ones fighting alongside them - the player controls them.

It basically says 'By "tuning" a witch's soul, you can obtain their personal "Song Magic"' (the grammar is something like "you get "song magic" that is unable to be activated anywhere but from that witch"). The tuning sequences are shown in anime cutscenes."

This is a Japanese game, so it'll probably involve them orgasming or losing their clothes somehow.

Its really fucking frustrating being a handheld RPG fan whos completely turned off by this shit

And it has some kind of strategy influence too
...all that's keeping me from being interested is those designs

I wouldn't call the near-naked witch a "loli" just because she's flat. Just sayin'.

But yeah, trying a bit too hard with the pandering there. Even have the prerequisite self-insert teenage amnesiac protagonist...
