A fellow gafer Macsta has the game early and was kind enough to upload a pic.

edit: original pic removed as it wasn't native res. Hoping to have a new one soon.

Go!

Looks blurry, doens't seems 1080p.

Actually looks low quality. Doesn't seem direct feed. Maybe it's an in-game cinematic? A pre-rendered movie that usually has low res and IQ?

Pic is in 1280x720

Looks like it has tons of AA. No one can say you the native res of AW just by looking at this picture :/

I don't really get this - if the game looks good to you, does knowing the number of pixels in it change anything? If you think a game is ugly, would you all of a sudden like it if it had more pixels or if you thought it looked good would you hate it if someone told you that it has fewer?

We need to prepare Parity Edition box mock ups.

pic itself is 720p.
Said fellow gaffer is either playing in 720p (although i'm not sure that changes the actual screenshot size) or the pic has been resized.

Either way, good IQ from what i can tell, i'd much rather have a 'softer' look than crawling pixels and shimmering diagonal lines.

Evaluating the technical merits has a place in the game. Whether or not it changes someone's opinion on the game is pretty irrelevant I think.

That being said, the point of this thread is because BruiserBear thinks that this is proof that Advance Warfare is lower than 1080p on the PS4 and he has an agenda.

It just looks like a downsampled image.

Anything can be outputted to 1080p on PS4, people are interested in the rendered output (not sure if I have the term correct but I think you get my drift).

Damn what gets me is that it shows a Corporal with two service stripes on his dress blue bravos. That's kind of weird. He must have gotten busted down, but then I look at his 5 ribbons and it just doesn't make sense.

Edit: After closer inspection it kind of looks like 7 ribbons.

The way Bruiser has been acting lately around Xbox/PS updates threads was kinda weird. Thought he was "joking", at first. Not sure if there's an agenda...who knows.

But yeah. With a downsampled image no way to tell.

How does one take a 1080p pic using the share button
Press Share, Save Screenshot. Quit game, copy the image to an USB and upload. Or send it as a message and open the message in the PS App.

It affects how it looks on your actual screen. Screenshots and videos don't give you that side if the story.

It does so by default you're obviously uploading it to somewhere that's resizing the image, or perhaps you have your PS4 set to 720P in display settings, but I'm not sure if that affects the screenshot function.

ps4 is set to 1080p. I went to settings and went to capture and put it on USB from there. Then used postimage to upload it and selected "do not resize"
