Information:

Join the Struggle for Kyrat in Far Cry 4's All-New PVP Mode

In “Battles of Kyrat”, the Far Cry 4 world is shown in a completely different way. The player’s battles take on the form of a re-telling of a long-past war that Pagan Min’s elite guard, the Rakshasa, fought against the Golden Path rebellion. Each faction has their own unique set of weapons and skills and players will have to adapt to their strengths and weaknesses while making their own progress within this multiplayer mode.

The Rakshasa are the mythical warriors of Kyrat with strong ties to their natural surroundings. They can call upon animals to help in both defending and attacking positions. The Rakshasa only use traditional weapons, specifically the bow, but are capable of crafting multiple alterations to their weapons. On the other hand, the Golden Path is all about its arsenal: guns, vehicles and tech-enhanced capabilities. They have access to a variety of weapon types, including assault rifles, shotguns, and multiple explosives. Finally, the Golden Path has access to bell towers, allowing them to spot the hidden enemy from far away.

The PvP mode consists of

• 5v5 round-based matches.

• Asymmetrical gameplay where the players take on each faction. The team with the best overall performance on both wins the match.

• 20 minutes average match length.

• 10 maps at launch.

• 3 modes:

- Outpost - the Golden Path works to establish an outpost in the region while the Rakshasa has to get rid of them and secure the outpost for Pagan Min.

- Propaganda - the Golden Path has to destroy three Pagan Min installations while the Rakshasa protects them.

- Demon Mask - both sides have to find the mask and return it to their home base.

Not sure how I feel about the game not having any traditional TDM or DM modes, though. Even worse for us that use the Map Editor a lot to make maps, 5 Versus 5 is not a whole lot, considering the map sizes can be up to 512x512 large....

This isn't the PC bullshot thread...but still I can get a sense of how it will look and I'm looking forward to it on PS4! Would get PC but I wouldn't have anyone to play with.

I like when the multiplayer has some context to be happening (just like in TLoU).

No TDM is a bit eh, but I don't know if people actually care for multiplayer (at least competitive) in FC. Idk how active was FC3, though.

5v5 is kind of a bummer.

Yeah, that's my biggest concern. I an avid map maker in the Map Editors, and some of those maps can be rather large. So with only 5 versus 5, it can get rather boring.

This is what kills me the most. If people realized the power of the game's Map Editor, and that Ubisoft never usually releases new maps for Far Cry games, is because thousands of USER MADE maps are there to download.

Shouldn't this be more advertised? I mean, it sounds very interesting... But I watched the trailer, and they don't even mention it

Wow, these screens look pretty sharp and detailed. I'm surprised this is the same Ubi that said resolution don't matter.

dude, that guy with the bow cracks me up and I'm not quite sure why, it always feels like he's photobombing the screenshot.

Hm. What odd crossover skins.

... Just out of curiosity... Are they crossover skins with AC4, or am I just being amazed yet again by Ubisoft's astonishing lack of creativity?

I thought that Pagan Min would have been about the modern technology stuff, not tribal warrior stuff. Is this an error of some sort?

While this looks interesting the lack of DM and TDM (Or just more modes in general) is extremely disappointing. Not to mention the 5v5 player cap with such a robust editor that now allows for vehicle use again. Also, still no word on lobbies. Ubisoft is just punting me in the junk over and over again this month.

Yep.

They RUINED Far Cry 3 and KILLED the Map Editor because of it's shitty matchmaking. Sharing Maps was non-existant.

Not really sure why they bother with bull shots, surely they know we aren't stupid.

Then again, Ubisoft don't really know how to be honest, genuine and drama free.

That was probably my main gripe with FC3. As long as the matchmaking actually works, I'm sure the multiplayer will be great.

I like how the text above the players looks like it was just laid on in photoshop.

Resolution only matters when you're trying to lie to your customers about how good your game looks, apparently.

And what's with the film grain? It's almost as hot as chromatic aberration right now.

Oh my god they look like paintings! Oh, they... they are paintings. It's digital painting. Well they're still very nice. They're very pretty paintings.

Just look at the first shot, these aren't just being downsampled. Clearly these are touched up.

Yeah but the first picture doesn't even look like it was produced by the same renderer that renders this game. It looks like concept art that accidentally got released with these high res gameplay shots, so I wasn't referring to it.

My naaaame is FC4Player 02. After 2 years on a repetitive island I have come to Kyrat with only one goal: to save my series. But to do so , I can't be the dudebro I once was. To honor my fans I must be someone else...I must be something else.

I got that reference! I smart! :D

Oh Ubi, never change.
Please change.

That first screenshot with the tiger is as ridiculous as this:

Anyway, that teleporting arrow looks like a lot of fun.

I think it's obvious that the first one is concept art.

But the rest are still very suspicious for different reasons.
