Leaked AC Unity gameplay videos up in the wild (edit: re-uploaded)

The NPC and environmental pop-up is a bit disconcerting. Other than that it looks alright. Will give it a go since this is the first major AC I've been interested in for a while.

Doesn't look as bad in motion compared to the images, but the pop-up makes it look like an IdTech 5 game.

crowd density is nice; pop-in is not. gameplay looks quintessentially assassin's creed for better or worse. i loved the naval parts of black flag. is there anything here to change up the gameplay?

What if the games rendering is running at 720p but the post processing heavy vaseline filter works on an upscaled 900p framebuffer?

The iq seems too bad even for a crappy AA algorithm at 900p

Pop in is noticeable, but the parkour and gameplay looks good. Also like that they told the truth about crowd events like them appearing in front of churches and other places to riot. Framerate doesn't look anywhere near as bad as the xb1 build a month ago, even when the crowd starts to run. For comparison,
xbox one build.

This is still not a really good quality, even when downloaded and loaded with VLC, it's hard to say how deep is the bluriness.

I really love the crowds, the lighting and the animations. It will really look amazing on PC and it doesn't look that bad here.

Let's be honest, this looks lovely.
Granted, the pop-in with the crowds was a little annoying, but they're still really technically impressive.
I'm fine with this.

Looks amazing, cant understand the complaints from all the whiners

Lol, "whiners".

So if you're not okay with devs blatantly lying to our faces about what a game will look like, and voice your dissatisfaction online...you're a "whiner"?

What should we do instead, thank Ubi for once again misleading us and just shut up and play the game? No, thanks.

I'd also like to say that I thought the gameplay looked pretty good. Apart from the pop-in, that is. Looks much better in motion than ti does in stills, but I guess that applies to all games.

The pop-in is pretty immersion breaking, if they knew it was going to perform like this why did they push so many NPCs on screen?

I like how some NPCs magically get a hat when you get close to them. Or new clothes.

Also early on in the video, the NPCs straight up pop in the middle of the street.

Holy heck. I love the scale.
That's the first thing I notice whenever I watch videos of the game.

The resolution, textures, shadows, and LOD could be better and the pop-in is impossible to miss, but the sense of scale is awesome. I think the game looks good as a whole, even if the weaker elements are obvious.

This. I'm not exactly sure if it works this way, but I'd take a drop in NPC's for less pop-in any day.

You'd still get pop in, but it would be less noticeable (since there would be less to pop in). You could increase the distance with less potentially too, but they would still pop in at some distance.

Wasn't the lowered resolution supposed to make up for the draw distances? There's noticeable pop in everywhere.

The huge crowd of people dissipating after an assassination looked amazing. Truly something that we have not seen in video games before. The static badly animated crowds in Blood Money are lame in comparison. I just hope that the pop in will be less noticeable on pc ...

The pop-in is really distracting. I'm not usually bothered by it but it's pretty aggressive here.

That is my only real gripe about what I see in the video. I would take less NPCs over popin any day. The game still looks as fun as I like the AC formula. Bummed that there are no naval events but excited to try out the coop.

EDIT: Question for TechGAF, could they do a patch that eliminated, say 1/3 of the random NPCs and give us less of the pop in or is that something that is coded and not able to be patched?

combat doesn't seem super hard like they were promising.

And the sword combo animation still looks like shit!

I don't get why western studios can't emulate how awesome sword combos look in japanese games.

Yep, that's some Assassin's Creed ass Assassin's Creed.

Wonder if you killed someone in that crowd, if everyone would freak out and scatter.

Still looks pretty great to me, on the whole. Probably will hold off buying it until I'm done with Dragon Age, though, just to save some money.

The lighting is cool. Wish those leakers would have something better than shitty 720p PS4 sharing.

Crowd reaction after the assassination is hilariously bad. Also I hate the UI and menus. edit: meant HUD and UI.

That 2 meter LoD pop-in

Actually this video kind of turned me on to the game. Might pick up the 1440P version.
