Which is why I played on PC with mods. I still bought stuff, but I had mods to reduce the prices somewhat and to remove that transition cut-scene.

JC2 was brilliant.

I don't know what the fuck they're thinking here, but it extremely easy to screw up a good thing.

I'm no longer excited to see what Deus Ex Human Revolution 2 will be if this trend continues.

That was my first thought as well beyond Just Cause. Open world, but modular (which HR kinda was already) and you need to pay for new areas.

Hitman would also be able to follow this pricing model, whereby it's open world, but in order to progress a certain way (eg hitting a certain contract to get a particular weapon) you could end up having to purchase extra areas.

Reading a lot into this, but it's easy to see where SE could be going with the idea...

To be honest the most fun I had with JC2 was with the 30 minute timed demo. The regular game was okay but kibda of boring and was filled with way too much useless content. Paying for the parts I want to play doesn't sound unappealing for this francise.

Square will wrek each franchise and wonder why things didnt go tgeir way. then they'll release a statement saying mobile is the future lol. im still skeptical we'll ever see FFxv and KH3 .

You know, it's probably split up via islands... but for JC2 that would still be an unacceptable invisible wall.

I once flew away from Panau for about 20 minutes before deciding to turn back, without hitting any sort of barrier.. JC2 is that sort of magical game.

Yeah as mentioned, PC version with mods to make everything free and just run around and blow shit up all day. Way too much fun. So, Just Cause developers, please don't release this as a F2P game with hundreds of dollars worth of DLC to buy everything. Just make it a $60 game that can be modded easily so I can unlock all the shit from the start and go blow people up. You'll have my purchase day 1.
