Crap, I was getting the PS4 version so that I could play online with friends, especially with online heists coming, but first person view looks so good that the potential for Rift support is pushing me towards PC (I love my DK2).

Maybe get the PC version on sale. It's gonna take some time for good mod support anyway, so you can get it cheaper.

Well, if Oculus isn't using every penny of that Facebook money to get official support in this, they need to rethink their priorities

I noticed (by going on Steam) that the PC version isn't out until next year anyway, so I'll probably end up buying both. No way I'm missing the party when everyone else at the office will be having fun (already had to go through that with the PS3 release).

I think it's going to depend what kind of output is necessary for the function of the VR, but I imagine it might be a reduced resolution at the very least.

Nope, not even close. You would need one hell of a PC to run it in 1080p 75fps/1440p 90fps as well..

Regardless, looks great so far.

From all the footage I've seen on streams thus far I've noticed that there's a greater variation in what cars spawn and where, but the traffic density seems only slightly increased. However, I don't think we've seen the freeway at rush hour yet.

I think you should take Rockstar's trailers of the traffic density increase with a grain of salt until we get some clear evidence in a few days when reviews are released.

I'm perfectly ok with traffic staying the same, and i wasn't expecting a big difference anyway, since that would significantly change gameplay. And tbh, i think last gen versions had enough crowded moments and traffic jams as they were.

I imagine it wouldn't be that daunting to pair things back like texture filtering, reflection maps, draw distance and npc/traffic density while retaining a respectable image quality.

Given the games co-marketing history with Sony, it'd be interesting to see a VR optimized version bundled in with Morpheus at its launch. Mainstream games in the vein of GTA are going to be pivotal in launching VR hardware for a mass market audience. PC is getting VR support one way or another irregardless, so it's fun to think about 'What if's for consoles.

Even if the game world were completely empty it'd still be super surreal to wander around San Andreas, 28 Days Later style, in VR.

On SEN page the game requires 55GB Minimum Save file. In comparison, Xbone pre-load
size it 42GB. I hope it's the same as the Xbone, don't know why they would be any different.
