Gave BoI:R a spin, I can see its appeal, but it didn't click immediately, will probably give it another go in the next days/weeks.
As Sarcasm said BoI:R becomes more layered and complex the more you play it so I'd recommend sticking with it or if you plan on playing intermittently going for the challenges.

Looks like it was my Internet making problems, not the Psn. Bought Killzone and can't wait to play it, with all those crazy sales every week i will never clear my backlog.

Excellent. Killzone is choice....I really dislike every single KZ game, except Mercs for the Vita. It's so good, and the botzone is a great add on for screwing around when you have no wifi.

I bought Rogue Legacy de to the sale. The game is catchy, I have put a good amount of hours on it (but less than 20 going by the lack of trophy).
I like it more than Binding of Isaac, but nevertheless rogue-like games are not really for me. I'm hooked to the game, but the lack of real progress and meaningfull exploration (read as exploration in a normal game as Symphony of the night) takes much of the fun for me.

You cannot say I did not try to get into the genre, but maybe it is just not for me. I don't know if I will continue to play it, but I'm sure I gonna rage quit it sooner or later because I know myself quite well XDDD:

Final exams are coming up, just when I get SV, BA and the MK8 DLC.

I guess the one benefit to being in medical school, I just finished my Unit 1 finals and am totally free until mid February. And by totally free I mean I have no actual exams, you are never actually free in med school. But it is really nice to have Thanksgiving off without worrying about imminent exams so I can be free to just play games. Holidays are the perfect Vita season too, since I head home and usually don't take my full consoles, so Vita and 3DS are perfect.

So slammed with games, bah!

Just finishing up my Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment review, and playing both Senran Kagura: Bon Appetit! and Tales of Hearts R for review, plus all that other good stuff I have yet to finish that I'm not reviewing.

Please, give us a small Christmas lull before we get thumped with games again. :(

Project Diva f 2nd's probably going to be the last major game until next year. Which is good, since I still haven't finished Akiba's Trip, Neptunia Rebirth, Shinovi Versus, or any of the other major releases that came out in the last month or so. This year's just been crazy.

As Vita owners, which would be the saddest day for you guys? I was just thinking here, but for me, it was that whole Type-0 Vita misannouncement. Seriously, that was a very sick and twisted joke.

Honestly, most of the time the last day of a major gaming event/conference. Combine the inevitable lack of Vita news and hype with the absolute negativity in this thread and it lends itself to a very sad overall day. Though the Type-0 clusterfuck is a close second. I don't even mind it only being on PS4, I have one of those too. Just don't play with my heart like you did that day, you know I would prefer a handheld game on Vita.

That misannouncement is the catalyst of all things unholy that Vita users had for publishers and Sony. When the news got to me it was already corrected.

Square would NEVER publish a game on an unpopular platform, hell, remember Dragon Quest IX DS?

Sadly the Vita will continue and always be a console for Japanese or indie games, IIRC there was a Sony interview that basically told people that it's dropping AAA support for it.

Actually I would pick that interview as my lamest day as a Vita owner, since it was a death sentence from Sony itself, I don't recall the complete interview, I do remember the reporter was being a complete blunt hardass and I got a few good laughs for it, then the waves of disappointment.

It should just rebrand itself as PS4 portable controller, oh wait that already happened.

/rant.

I still have P4 dancing all night to back me up, then nothing.

Hopefully I can see God Eater 2 RB in the west and a sequel to Soul Sacrifice before the Vita completely fades to oblivion. The physical games are getting less and less these days for it.

My vita never makes me sad. Even if no more games ever came out, i have like a 3-5 year backlog on it, easy.... but we're actually getting lots of new games, so all the better.

Conferences don't get me down because i go in with no expectations that sony will spend valuable time on a handheld in a western based conference, so any actual coverage is a bonus.

The mis-announcement didn't bother me because people make mistakes.

I'm a pretty easy going guy, I wouldn't let the best device I ever owned make me sad. Heck, Binding of Isaac alone is proof the vita will live forever in my hands. Plus I've got a world of ps1/psp rpgs, forever games like Super Stardust, lumines, pinball, txk, luftrausers, etc, and upcoming games like galax-z.

Sony could take a sledgehammer to one at a conference and i'd still thank them for what they've already given me.

QUESTION -- if i LOVE binding of Isaac but didn't like Spelunky, would I likely enjoy Rogue Legacy?

This is pretty much my take on the whole thing, minus that last line. I'm not big on sony after the vita, but there's never been 1 specific thing that made me mad at them. That said, I was pretty ticked at the way Shahid seemed to want to take credit for the Type-0 thing. That was pretty stupid.

**Also for your edit, I think there's a decent chance you will. I don't really think of it as being too similar to spelunky, just that it's in the same genre.

It's impossible for the Vita to make me sad now that it has 2 localized Miku games. Speaking of which... Buy PDF 2nd next week.

Yeah, i mean, that last line was hyperbole but the point was more that Sony already gave me a great device with tons of games. I can't really get upset with them, especially since I think their adaptive strategy and move away from AAA games makes sense given the market.

Re: Shahid -- I figure he was actively working for it to come to vita, but isn't in a position to know if it's a done deal or not since he doesn't work for SE. So when he heard the announcement, he accepted it as truth just like we did. Sucks for everyone.

The days I missed out on when you can download all PSP compatible games on the Vita.
I still hate my dumbass brother for it =_=

I am kind of there with you. I don't know what it is about Spelunky but it didn't click for me. I have tried many times. I love Rogue Legacy. I am having a blast with Binding of Isaac (never played it on PC).

Yup. I don't hold it against him. My frustration more stems from a level of exasperation, asking myself "why would you not check before tweeting all about it?".
Mostly my experience with the vita has been positive when it actually comes to what matters: games. While it's been pretty negative on the corporate side of the ecosystem.

The prejudice against Shahid is just too strong.

The postinitial announcement was made on Playstation Blog by a Square-Enix Senior Product Manager.

That's like casting a doubt on the Apple's PR head honcho - "did you really just announce that we have an iPhone 6? Or is this a mistake and I shouldn't tweet about it?"

I'd say it's a tossup between TGS 2011, PS4 reveal and TGS. TGS 2011 came about a week after Nintendo's pretty huge Save The 3DS presentation with the MH betrayalthon. Sony countered that with ... a bunch of ports and what felt like a 20 minute OS demonstration? PS4 reveal because I had a Chicken Little moment about Remote Play that has unfortunately turned out true. TGS 2014 because it showed that even in the one region where Vita was outselling PS4, it was still worth less to Sony than PS4.

My exasperation stems from -- as I stated -- the fact that he didn't bother to check with someone prior to going to twitter and acting like he'd won some battle for vita fans. I don't fault him for being excited, I don't fault him for tweeting, I don't fault him for being confused. I fault him for not taking the time to check on something that seemed to come out of the blue. Especially something that -- I imagine -- he would probably get some semblance of a heads up on.

Regardless, this is neither here nor there. As I stated, I don't hold it against him. I don't carry any "prejudice" against him, contrary to your overextension.

Finished the Freedom Wars campaign. Most abrupt ending ever, just when things were getting exciting... Here's hoping that is a sequel comes out, that not only does it iron out the first game's faults, along with the story. The story wasn't too bad until near the end, I wonder what happened... budget cut, time restraints, I wonder.

I'm actually pretty curious as to if there will be a FW sequel. It seems unlikely, but they've put far more effort into the game post-launch than I ever expected, so anything is possible at this point.

Nope, it's non-negotiable.

I can't believe you're buying ports of games you've already played on PS3 over the sequel to your GotY.

Hear that? The sound of thousands tutting at Flandy.

In my defense I sold my PS3 copy back in May for $45 and I am essentially getting the PS4 version for $40 because of the $10 preorder certificate and the $12 Gamers Club Unlocked discount at Best Buy.

What do you mean I'm not buying the squeal to my GOTY? I was there Day 1 for Danganronpa 2

Chances of a sequel are very high.

It might have a very bad reputation in Japan, but it still sold a lot of copies (and is a recognizable name due to that).

Chances of it being on PS4 is also quite high, as Yosp has already mentioned he wants it on PS4.

Although the consumer reviews weren't the greatest in Japan, I think the game sold quite well around those parts, and if the internet is any indication of it, I feel like it didn't do so bad here in the west either.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did, but then again who knows. I'll keep my eye out for any news, until then I will be waiting for my God Eater 2 to get english subtitles too. I have the japanese copy right where all my Vita games are, and it's there taunting me, telling me to play it (thought I'd be able to play it with the little to no japanese skills of mine. Didn't work out)...

Game is quite the looker I'll give it that, sharp and pretty just like Freedom Wars.

I think like ATX said, if there's a sequel it will likely be on PS4. There's a possibility it will be on Vita, too, but I just don't see it being a vita exclusive again.
I also think it's unlikely that a sequel sells nearly as well unless they really go all out, so that'd probably be the end of the franchise regardless.

You are both right, specially if God Eater 2 sells well on the PS4. We may see more hunting games on home consoles if it does go that way.

Hunting game
Expansion version

Pick two

Personally I've decided to wait for the expansion version of all hunting/coop action games at this point.

Yup. I was talking about this in another thread. If GE2 sells well on PS4 I fully expect all these MH-likes to make their way to the PS4. It will be interesting to see what capcom does, though.
