More stuff.

Edit: Google Translate mentions "online". It seems it'll take an important role indeed.

Changing a little the subject, is there any one massive video with every trailer and video for Xenoblade X? Or do I have to look for them one by one?

I wanted to either download or bookmark it to watch all the stuff every now and then.

All Trailers - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fj7TzPq309Y

The only two videos missing are the two hour long Treehouse demonstrations, but those are linked in the video description anyway.

Can you translate it in full then? Just for the sake of it.

It seems that it is announcing a PS4 version for the Online mode, while the Wii U one will come out 6 months later with less contents (aka no online), and no DLC

Trust me and my Google translator

There really isn't much here. He just says that after various ups and downs throughout development, they've finally reached a point where it's almost done. He feels that the things they wanted to do with the game from the beginning have been realized - Scifi world setting, seamless open world concept, online play, etc. He hopes players will enjoy exploring the huge world in the game.

The only thing of remote interest is that this time he says "online play" rather than a more general mention of "online features".

Just a personal observation, but consider these facts:

- Scifi setting, seamless world, and online appear to be the three main features they wanted to implement in the game on top of Xenoblade's base gameplay
- Xenoblade's base gameplay is already pretty similar to online RPGs
- Now the game has full character creation on top of that

I feel that indicates that the odds of online being a small part of the game tucked away in the corner is very... unlikely.

Not to mention the chats and the player lists shown in the earliest Direct. But judging from the Treehouse footage, the chances of this being anywhere remotely MMO-like is very slim. It looks heavily cutscene and story driven, meaning there would be sync issues if it was a co-op campaign. Seems to me like there'll be a separate online mode from the main game. Or you have to go somewhere in your main hub to do specific non-story quests with other online players.

Yeah I think it will be similar to Fantasy Life, play the campaign by yourself, and team up online to explore the world and complete side-quests.

Hoping for some kind of versus mode too, a la The Last Story!

EXCITE

Id like to imagine, if there is a online multiplayer component, it would allow you to take on higher level creatures or bosses with other players in a form of online hunt system it would have exclusive monsters with a difficulty that cant be overcome with ai partners. Meh idk lol i could care less if it had online or not, i just want to play it.

Utah ripped off Xenoblade.

Assuming that this post was a response to mine:
1. I haven't accused anything of "ripping off" anything.
2. It's fair to say that FFXV wasn't inspired by Xenoblade there; I had no idea such geographical features existed in real life.
3. That said, Xenoblade's - specifically, Gaur Plains's terrain is still wholly unique and distinct (and I highly doubt I'd be able to find a real-life equivalent of it), so it's still safe to say it might've served as inspiration for the other two.

Are these youtube rips or direct feeds/ no compression? Just checking before download since I don't like youtube compression.

*1st teaser: JPN eShop rip
2nd teaser: EU eShop rip (credit goes to Hero of Legend for this one)
3rd teaser to story trailer: Youtube rip
Treehouse footage: high quality Twitch rip (a bit better than the Youtube crap, at least)*
**Treehouse footage was uploaded in split 7z archives; I trust you guys know how to handle those.**
***Quality of 3rd gameplay teaser, even at 720p, is absolute dogshit. Unfortunately, that's the best I could do given what's available. Nintendo really has to do something about the quality of the footage they release.***

Footage on the eShop is the absolute best quality you'd be able to find, and even then, it's still compressed to shit. Sorry, dude, but what's in that folder is the best I've been able to come up with.

On the same note, I happen to have Treehouse's IGN and Gamestop's playthroughs. I can upload those if anyone's interested.

Okay. So, the MEGA folder's been updated with:
- Treehouse's playthrough of X with IGN (1080p)
- Treehouse's playthrough of X with Gamespot (720p)
- the most recent bit of footage + screenshots (720p)
- the main theme (pre-bitrate nuke) + a bunch of other stuff from the site

And that's it, I think.

Since Duckroll is busy, it seems, I'll take a stab. I'm just running all three Tweets together.

[Takahashi]Today I'll talk a little about the development staff. Yuichiro Takeda is the main writer for this games' script, following on from his work on Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii. He's written a more heavy sci-fi story for us this time, compared to the previous games' classical fantasy. For sound, we asked Hiroyuki Sawano. He is a very busy composer and we are very grateful that he has written his first game soundtrack for us. The character design was handled by Kunihiko Tanaka, whom you all will know. We have known each other for a long time and he assisted in drawing out a 'Xeno-ness' for the game.

The comments suggest he's trying to have this title be closer to earlier Xeno titles than Xenoblade. I like how he, himself uses the term Xeno-ness considering the Xenoblade just had that name put upon it.

Bring it on I'm excited.

This just reminds me how Bandai screwed up the localization of Nichijou. Top Ten anime easily for me. Gundam Unicorn was still released (tying things back to the game).

I've said repeatedly that people are going to be disappointed if they expect areas like Frontier Village, Makna Forest, etc. Nice to hear it from Takahashi himself.

People should expect more Gundam than Xenoblade if you haven't played any of the Xeno games. I dunno about other people, but the more familiar sci-fi nature of this game is what has me excited.

Me too.
Loved Xenoblade fantasy settings, but I can't say no to more "realistic" sci-fi universe. Rather uncommon on Nintendo platform and welcomed!
