According to A9VG’s exclusive report, Sony Computer Entertainment will reveal PlayStation’s launch plan for People’s Republic of China during a special conference in Shanghai on 11th December. The release dates and selling prices of PS4 and PS Vita in China mainland will be announced with information of several PlayStation softwares and services.

In the invitation first and only received by A9VG so far, PlayStation China Conference will start from 1700 on 11th December, at Mercedes-Benz Arena on EXPO Avenue in Shanghai. “一切为了玩家” is the theme, which in English reads “Everything for the Players”.

During Sony Expo on October 24th in 2014, the President and CEO of Sony Corp. Kaz Hirai invited the President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Andrew House to officially announce that PlayStation is coming to China in public for the first time.

For reference, in Asia, PlayStation 4’s release dates in Hong Kong and Taiwan are 17th and 18th of December in 2013, and the release date in Japan is 22nd February in 2014. Moreover, PlayStation Vita’s release date in Japan is 17th December in 2011, while the release date in both Hong Kong and Taiwan are 23rd December in 2011.

Before PlayStation China Conference, more information will be published in the next few days, teased by A9VG.

Are they actually going to produce new Vitas? ...Actually, I guess they could just reuse the unsold ones.

Jokes aside, this is really cool. Even not living in China, and having no connection to the country, I really like the idea of a new video game market opening over there. Hope all goes well for Sony in the country.

Meh, I imagine a lot of games will get Chinese language support if they don't already. Sony are pretty good at localising for markets.

Every first party have chinese localize, some third party titles localize by SCE Taiwan like Yakuza zero.
They are so ready for China market.

No new number since launch, but China online store did something like Black Friday back in 11th of nov, only 4k something sold.

The real test of whether or not either console will have any chance of being anything more than a fart in the wind of China's PC/Mobile Master Race is CNY's February period.

China will save the Vita, woohoo!!! /s

They should release Vita TV as well if they are already entering the market. It's a cheap alternative for the living room.

I thought I read that MS were doing something this month as well...? Might be wrong.

Anyway, looking at that Toro figure makes me realise how much I want a proper game based on him. Platformer, RPG, adventure, whatever, I'd take almost anything.

Unless they have some local TV service build in, there are no way Vita TV can compete with 9000 other TV boxes in China.

MS has an event in Las Vegas.

At the MS Store.

To meet Major Nelson.

Release it for gaming and Remote Play. It's not like they released the Vita TV for media purposes in the other regions as it launched without any apps.

Yes, I know the gaming white list is also not good.

Major Nelson is doing a meet up in Vegas, but does not sound like it will be a big event http://majornelson.com/2014/11/24/win-way-game-awards-next-week/
Cool, thanks for clearing that up.

December should indeed be pretty massive for Sony and, in my opinion, the perfect time to build some hype for the PS4. All the big guns for 2014 are out and teasing what's coming next, just before Christmas, is pretty clever as this time of year is usually relatively dead news-wise.

No problem.

Sony have such a strong start to the year with 'The Order' and 'Bloodborne'. They also have so many great looking Indie games, that hopefully will be coming over the next few months.
