1 Month Later, Halo: MCC is still broken

I think this is an interesting video that discusses the issues and why pre-ordering is a bad move: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCC499Gf4DY&feature=youtu.be

The Halo Collection Is Getting Better, But Still Not Fixed After A Month (Kotaku)

MP still broken
- Game crashes
- People can't find games
- Uneven teams
http://kotaku.com/two-weeks-later-halo-multiplayer-is-still-a-mess-1663158779

Single Player campaign issues:
- Halo 2 save
- Achievements not unlocking
- Game crashes
- Split Screen frame rate drops

Even GAFs very own OT is mostly posts about the bugs or people "finally" getting into games.

I don't understand why this game wasn't delayed. This is the premier franchise for Microsoft and they couldn't extend the deadline to a later date for their biggest IP and one of the biggest IP in all of gaming.

What was 343i doing?

It's better than it was, but yes: still broken.

I've gotten into matches in under a minute... and I've gotten kicked out of games in the same amount of time :D

Ani Halo 2 Rumble pit works like 90% of the time, its not great but it works. So its not 100% broken.

I'm calling for a refund today. Wish me luck, folks.

MP matches fail for me maybe 30% of the time, but for the most part matchmaking is better. Now if they could fix the fact the rest of it is a glitchy unpolished mess and that BTB doesn't work, it'd be great.

My xbox one's already collecting dust.

Given the XB1's sales all year, there's no way in hell they were letting Master Chief slip into next year unless absolutely necessary. Like, game would not even boot necessary.

The OT has almost completely died as well.

The game will probably never function properly as the Population is most likely dried up (and will be in 2015).

343 fucked up.

I am surprised at the damage this has done. The online lobbies are quickly starting to mirror that of other releases this year that have fallen by the wayside. You really don't get many chances to get online functionality up to speed these days, and I suppose that's a good thing; broken products should be given more time.

Yeah and where's the free PSN version uh? Worst game eeeever!
Why bring this up in this thread?

On topic, yeah it's been frustrating. I haven't had much luck getting into MP games. I haven't really experienced any of the single player bugs so I'm OK with the purchase, but it shouldn't be acceptable to release a game in this state.

The patch yesterday REALLY helped. I'm getting into matches almost instantly and they're even teams.

For me as well. BTB was the playlist that wouldn't find a game. But Team H2A was working great last night. Match connection quality was excellent, never seen a single player drop below a solid connection over several games. We'll see how it holds up today (speaking specifically for myself).

I'm not going to refund mine but I have stopped playing until they improve campaign.

Too much weird stuttering and framerate issues.

Lol, looks like you wondered into the wrong thread (obviously on purpose)..........nice try!

2/10

On Topic: On November 12, Polygon dropped their review from a 9.5 to an 8. That was only 5 days after the review was posted. That was almost a month ago. I wonder if they are going to address that review again? Their whole Re-review thing is an absolute joke.

Sure they bit off a lot, but I think Xbox One launched way ahead of the schedule 343i was given. I can't imagine the stress that was put on the team losing months. As much as I love to jump on the hate train, this seems partially out of their control.

Still haven't touched it since first couple of days. Any hype I had for it has truly diminished.

Really should have asked for a refund.

Halo 2 means team deathmatch and capture the flag. I always hated rumble pit. The game is 100% broken if the modes I like to play aren't working. Luckily I haven't picked this one up yet, but once its working, I'll be buying an XBox One for it.

I'm not a Halo fan. I enjoyed the first game back in the day, thought the second was ok. But i couldn't even finish Halo 3, I was so bored with it.

I figured this would be a great time to get all of the games and play through them, mainly just to say that I have played them all.

Unfortunately its been an awful experience, not relating to the games their selves. I can't play most of the time and when I do I run into a bug that screws up my experience. I decided to give the series a second chance and they presented me with a pile of shit.

Im embarrassed I actually jumped the gun and bought this game. I have been good this year about waiting until games come out and ensuring they don't have major issues before purchasing. Unfortunately, I trusted that microsoft/343 would not screw up their biggest series. I was obviously wrong. However I have learned to not trust any developer any more until their game has been proven.

I have yet to get into one match, and I've owned the game since day one.

Did you remember to turn your internet on?

Because seriously, it's nowhere near that broken. You can pretty consistently get matches with the latest patch. It can take a couple of minutes but you get them.

The game save bug is pretty bad.. not being able to save/quit when trying to play through on Legendary is frustrating as all hell. Outside of that though I've been progressing through SP without any huge issues.

I feel for the people who bought this game with the idea of playing the MP day one. Crazy as that sounds. I hope they can come up with something to make up for lost time. As other posters have said though,

MM was working pretty well for me last night after the most recent patch. Was able to get my butt kicked on H2A and then play some BTB without much of an issue.

The word broken is pretty strong at this point.. but god damn if it didn't take them long enough to get here.

Devs should stop cramming multiplayer and single into one package. So far this gen it seems like deva just can't handle doing both.

After the patches, I still could not get into a match. Like at all. I tried playing with a buddy, and we couldn't even get into our lobby together. ALSO...Xbox Live itself was having issues with the party system (we couldn't hear each other's voices, and then it would crash with an error message). It's insane to me, that Sony has a better party chat system, and a more stable one. Like what the hell.

This is what I talk about when I say I think Xbox One OS is kind of clunky. It's slow to load jumping out of a game just to get into the party chat. And sometimes it doesn't even work. I know this isn't about MCC, but just a side thing I wanted to vent on.

Anyways, I ended up pulling the plug my Xbox One, giving it a hard reboot. FINALLY I got into a match after 40 seconds of waiting. Really quick. But then after the match, i went back to not being able to find a match for an hour of searching.

Later in the night I tried again...couldn't get into a single match. Hard rebooted my Xbox One again...and what do you know, suddenly I was getting into Team Slayer matches after 2-3 min of waiting (which is still a long ass time, considering COD and other games are almost instant now. Even Battlefield gets you into a match quicker).

So I definitely think this is broken. It's a mess. It's not working properly. I shouldn't have to hard reboot to get the shit to work.

It IS that broken for some people though. I think it's important to realize that not everyone has the same experience. And the reality is, even for those that can get into matches, it's no where near the quality it should be.

It's ridiculous. My aunt wanted me to find the best deal for an XB1 for my little cousin so I directed them to the Ass Creed Bundle (it's his Christmas present) and he was looking forward to playing this Halo game more than anything. But for a kid who doesn't know any better I think it's ridiculous to sell this game for the uninformed consumer. I obviously don't want to tell him the game is broken because he's really looking forward to playing this. This and Halo 5 are the only games he ever talks about when we talk about video games.

Add shitty splitscreen performance in H2A to that list. Co-op is fine, but even 2 player splitscreen causes mad stuttering on all but the smallest multiplayer maps.

Every match I've played has been pretty balanced and I can get into a BTB in under 60 seconds. I've had very few problems.

Again, the success rate seems to be wildly different from person to person.
