Drawn to Death #GOF**KYOURSELF (David Jaffe's response to giantbomb/polygon comments)

Well the game looks interesting. Splatoon does interest me more, but I can have interest in more than one game.

In response I'm sure they'll find a way to try and frame Drawn to Death as problematic.

It wasn't polygon themselves. Just their commenters.

They probably will find it problematic anyway. They find everything problematic nowadays, but not because of this.

Game plays amazing with four players. Very tight and intimate with a smooth game flow. I played a bunch at PSX and wrote detailed impressions here. It's a game people really need to try before judging it, if only because it's so damn different. I had a blast and barely scratched the surface of the mechanics.

A few of the guys on the bombcast said way worse shit about the game this week.

I was surprised but then really not surprised GB shit on it. I thought the game looked awesome and is very original in many ways. Very much looking forward to it.

Pretty clever idea actually. Would be funny if the marketing used quotes from trolls to sell the game.

Glad to see Jaffe is representative of himself in his art.

But honestly, I can't say I expected anything different. The entire tone of the game is super-hardcore, over-the-top, too-edgy-to-be-believed. It's not the right move for the game's branding campaign to step in & say "thanks for the constructive criticism".

This didn't come off like a real sore/angry response like I was expecting from some comments made here. I daresay it was kinda funny.

You know what?

I find it funny that developers are expected to take all kind of abuse and disrespect for their work, but once they throw a F word in response there are some that feel outraged or displeased.

I guess some like to dish it but not to take it. And I'm not talking about Jaffe.

I like the low player count. Too many players and it just becomes a mindless brawl. With fewer numbers you really have a chance to outthink your opponents by predicting their location, weapon drops, etc.

I'm ok with this. As long as you arent threatening to assault or kill anybody then people can say what they want. I'm older though and not as thin skinned as todays generation though.

Then what are you talking about

The game looks shitty to a lot of people. The gb staff trashed it on the bombcast as well.

People are going to have opinions about a game that showed very poorly. Get over it.

This is a good response to "hate" comments. Funny and harmless.

Plus, it fits the tone of the game (if I'm not mistaken, the game itself says FUCK YOU when you kill/get killed)

Obligatory "Twisted Metal lives on in Drawn To Death" comment

Gotta disagree.

That is the one thing I don't like about this.

I prefer games with bigger battles.

I wish Jaffe would up the player count. That way people could decide how big or small they want battles to be.

On the scale of 1 to Jaffe, this ranks on the relatively tame side. I'm not going to get up in arms over this, but I still don't like him.
