This arc...

Well, now I feel more smitten to Asuna than in previous arcs...It just took a few years, but I'm liking her now.

Watched all of the first one on Netflix and thought that it was not so good. It was pretty good until it became a love story.

Is this one any better?

There's just 1 episode left, right? Guess it's time for me to start watching it. Didn't want to have to wait for a new episode weekly.

I guess. GGO did have a bad habit of camera going gravure camera mode during important drama talks though, which really does kill my focus.

lol, did they really zoom in on the ass?

I want them to go crazy and do a filler season next.
It can be full of fan service and random.
I just don't want to go to Underworld yet..

Marathoning GGO arc.
You guys aren't kidding. Kirito really did get a revelation about Death gun after seeing Shinon hometown.
I was like wut? Kirito eureka moment is by seeing ass!?

I think the Mother's Rosario Arc is my favourite of the season. I actually thought I'd dislike it, but I love it.

The feels ;_;

its the best arc of the season... but is completely out of left field somehow.

It's like you come to a strip club expecting something... but ended up getting a fantastic steak there.

You enjoy the steak... but have that weird feeling.

And thats not because of the lapdance.

The last 2 episodes have been shockingly good. How many more episodes do we have to look forward to before it goes back to being terrible? And what makes it terrible aside from, I'm guessing, a renewed focus on Kirito?

Edit: Decided to spoil myself on the next arc because I've heard some things. Holy. Christ.

1 episode left in the season which will wrap up this story arc.

To me the show was the best on its first season, when they could die in the game and were stuck in it. After that, GGO was fun but nothing came close. At least for me. Not saying the other stuff is bad, this arc is hitting me with the feels bat.

Well, I'm sad now :(

I feel like they shouldn't have had that emotional scene right in the middle and more at the 2/3 mark. Though that's just me and I don't know any better.

Caliber and Mother's Rosario were great. Those two were comparable to the first half of season 1 and completely trounces the second half as well as GGO.

Well I enjoyed this season, the low part for me was the first episode of the Calibur arc, Mother's Rosario and GGO were very well done in my opinion.

See everyone in 2 years for the inevitable Aliciazation Season 3!

I enjoyed this arc way more than I thought I would but feels. :'(

Mind PMing me what you found?

Shiun part was odd, why would one assume that decreased medicine meant she was going to die. I guess the doctor didnt communicate that to her until two months passed of decreased medicine?

Alright arc, not as good as ALO. Mother's Rosario would have been a bit better if there was more Kirito involvement. It felt like the series strayed way too far from its roots and thus became something foreign.

Animate Eugeo and Kirito please

Huh? What did I say? Did I screw up again? :(
I watched this episode from my kitchen today while dicing a lot of onions for some soup. I'll be having a lot of sup over the next week :(

And thus it ends. 10/10 as expected.

I hope they do progressive, or fillers, or hell even fucking girl ops before Alice. Alice is... different. In a way its more like SAO than MR, but in a lot of others its really not. It's good in its own right mostly, but I want more of this stuff before Alicization if possible. As the novels aren't done yet, they might do some filler. Or it might be like Oreimo where the novels and anime finish at about the same time.

Seriously, I'm always impressed at how this show attempts to take on issues grander than the writer's body of work and while it may falter ore the overall perspective may be shallow, it's fearlessly doing it and its pretty commendable. To end the show on
"should science benefit from the work of mass murderers?"
is a prime example of these sorts of concepts.

Not to take away anything from it - but the show most of the time just follows source-material with minimal deviation - this arc in particular didn't change a thing (source explores the ending questions you mentioned in depth actually).
But this was one of the best written arcs in the series anyway - it's about to get a lot worse once the next major one starts.

so... whats a mother rosario?

Yuuki's original sword skill.

She is also the creator of the 11-hit Original Sword Skill "Mother's Rosario," which is later given to Asuna as her "only form of way" of protecting and repaying her.

I think it ties in three things, her name as Zekken (Absolute Sword), a Rosary (beaded necklace with a cross, similar to what Yuuki's avatar wears) and her mother/Asuna.

Ep 24...

I had to fight REALLY hard to hold back tears. A few still made it out. Everything about it was just done perfectly. I have zero qualms with this episode.

What a fantastic end to this arc.

This last arc hit me rather unexpected, didn't see any of it coming. Definitely the highlight of the season. I also liked that Kirito wasn't as involved, he takes up too much of the spotlight whenever he's on screen.

Curious how can they even top this arc. Does it go back to kirito waifu waifu business again?

If they continue directly to the next arc in the novels then
no. It goes completely different, at least for a good while. It gets closer to standard SAO eventually, but even then no waifu stuff.
NOTE: I'm not completely caught up with the novels though.

Just watched the last couple of episodes of this. Shit... that ending hit pretty hard. But
What was the point of that Kayaba Akihiko namedrop at the end? I assumed that was meant to be a cliffhanger of some sort until the post credits scene.

Out of curiousity after finishing S2 I looked up the plot for the next 'main' SAO arc from the novels and... well... It sure doesn't sound like it :)

Because it implies that the one the one that put them in that prison to fight for 2 years for their lives may have used them as literal experimental subjects for the medicubethingie that is poised to help so many and potentially save lives.
